Here's an idea that might be a more secure connection for some of the pieces, like underneath where the backpack will be: plastic buckles. Other than that, holy heck this looks great.
I just realized I didn't get my patterns put together for this video- is there any interest in getting the body patterns available for download? Edit: it's gonna happen, I am on the road this week, sorry for the delay!

Waterslide decals are awesome. Also, adding a little vinegar to the water will help the decals stick and also allow it to conform to irregular surfaces.
Hey, remember that one time Odin promised to continue working on a long-requested project only to bail like 99% of all the other diy channels on RUclips? Me neither. I can't wait to see it all come together!
A little tip to eliminate static charge is to tape a bare copper wire to the part and have it touch the floor. It's annoying to work around but it works. It's a little tip I picked up when painting model cars. All the air moving across the plastic builds up a charge so metallic will actually stand up rather than lay down like they're supposed to.
Absolutely perfect. I was just bugging the crew over at Hero's Workshop to make their own Gundam suit, as they love both cosplay and Gundam builds. What Odin makes is always awesome!
In the helmet video; I looked at the helmet, then looked at Odin's head and thought: "you sure that you got the scale right Odin?" Then I assumed it was for a child. Me Wrong x2
This is probably one of your most insane builds right behind Soul Edge and the Gravity Gun, but it’s beautiful. It looks like a model kit that was supersized. I can’t wait to see the rest of the build
You are awesome you inspired me to want to be a prop designer for movies and video games thanks to you I made a prop using your pointers and it turned out great
Welp, on the last Gundam video I mentioned that I was getting the Gunpla itch. Flash forward a bit, and today I was sitting down with a Gundam marker to do some panel lining on a new kit when I noticed this upload. Huzzah!
now i know why your name is Odin, you are a god! i am attempting to make this cosplay so these videos will help immensly, thank you and keep the amazing builds coming.
Thank you very much for posting this because this will help me greatly in building my own Gundam statue that if I take the armor off certain body parts I can use like how you're using it for cosplay. I just got to figure out how to do it for the astray red frame sadly without the aid of computer assistance
The fact you're making it exactly after a RG model is impressive on it's own. You should make a mannequin so when Joe isn't wearing it you can display it and still pose it somewhat like the RG gundam.
This build has been super fun to watch! I do have a suggestion though: Just like with gunpla panel lining, you may want to try out Tamiya's Panel Line Accent paints. They run a lot thinner than their acrylic series of paint and should be better for those thin lines. They even have brown and grey for your reds and whites, respectively!
If I were gonna make a gundam for cosplay, I'd probably attach the skirts on... Like, hinges of nylon web, so that you can actually move in the skirt without putting stress directly on the velcro or the foam. Could easily be retrofit into this build by just sewing nylon webbing and velcro into the equivalent of traditional door hinges, and sandwiching them into the correct position. Just thinking out loud, though.
Yes! Now all we need is the arms, legs and bad a** blaster gun! Then we're all set!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Still think it'd be cool to see you make Princess Zelda's sword from Twilight Princess, but this is still cool in the meantime! Edit: I just noticed that you included the caution labels on the panels! Too cool!
Since you're making the Weaponry for this you can modify one of the bladebuilders lightsabers for the beam saber and you should also make the destiny Gundams folding sword and a suggestion for doing the energy blade that supposed to sit on it do an LED strip that sitting inside a clear flexible plastic tubing that is sitting on a coiling system kind of like how the retractable dog leashes are down in the base of the handle so when you open the blade up the energy blade comes out with it and then when you pull the trigger it's active
This is an awesome build! I can't wait to see the finished product! I have a suggestion for your next build. The original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Megazord, made completely out of foam, completely wearable for a Con.
Taking your "metal ruler taped to the foam idea" and converting it to knife cutting - Tape one ruler to the bottom of the desired bevel, another ruler to the top, and slide your knife blade along both rulers to cut the bevel.
That is some solid work, my friend! Getting the details right from a Real Grade isn't easy, but you nailed it. Very impressive. Can't wait to see the whole thing come together. 😁
You should do a second channel about cooking because “this is how Odin Bakes”.
Actually, he has a really good video on how to make a grilled cheese. Easy to follow and tastes great too.
Fortnite Kid WE GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Other than that, holy heck this looks great.
I ordered a bunch of them, and webbing. So far this doesn't feel like it needs them. First time it's at a con will let us know!
I just realized I didn't get my patterns put together for this video- is there any interest in getting the body patterns available for download?

yes please!!!
Yes please. I want to try this out for myself when I get my own place.
Absolutely I'd love to have the chance to build this
heck yes!
Definitely! This isn't the mobile suit I would consider making, but any is better than nothing! I'd buy these in a heartbeat!
This makes my beam saber become the hyper beam saber
...is that a dick joke?
@@jotarokujo5967 nah, his beam sabers just happy to see this.
Beam Sabers have feelings too
Wouldn't it become the Hyper Beam Javelin?

OMG, I can't wait for the full Gundam!
I see you've taken up your own "V Project"
You mean "Operation V" right?

You should totally do an 80's Optimus prime build using a similar method.
Great Video! It's awesome seeing people putting Armorsmith to use.
This looks amazing i cant wait for the rest

Thank you Jake!
That is just insane! Gives me hope for the mech cosplay I always wanted to try.

You should make the Batman who laugh’s cowl
Jordan massive shout. The whole costume would look sick too, with the chains and shoulder pads
yes, cowl of the batman who laughs
Yesss!
Hell Yes! 💜
Great video! The technique of using the paper pattern for correct contact cement placement is genius!

I’m blown away by this. The quality of your props have come so far from the beginning of your channel. Absolutely amazing!
I'm already happy when you build the head unit. And then you continue to build the whole armour? Love you!

Thanks for pointing out that alternative software. I really love the avatar costumzation. WIll help with my .. unique shape
Me to! That is the biggest help with the program. It has a bit of a learning curve, I am still on it!

So far this build looks amazing! Probably the best thing I've seen you build, and that's saying a lot. Good luck making those arm pieces though
Thank you! Ha!
This is my favorite video of this channel so far. The level of detail and craftsmanship is so amazing. If I can give this a 100 likes I would.
is just... GORGEOUS
Can’t wait to see how you make the beam saber.
After getting out of two, two and a half hour musicals and seeing this in my inbox. Well my fatigue is gone. This was a dope video. Ngl.

That looks INCREDIBLE. The sharp lines and covers really pop. Great job!
Thank you Dave!
I like how you went for the mg rx-78-2 3.0 look.
Oh never mind you went with the rg, but they’re both fairly similar in look, either way I like the panel lines and color separation you did.
The metal ruler trick was neat!
And wet sanding foam to get rid of saw marks??? Very cool. This is really impressive sir!
Thank you!
I can't wait to see this finished

I really love this build the detail are near to the model kit.
Sir my full respect for your work !!! Great tuttorials and thanks for sharing your skils

In fact, your glue applicator (that bottle with a syringe at the end) is what I use to make the paneling in my gunplas

Freedom!! Ha!
I was really worrried this was gonna be 3D-printed. I don't want that taking over the foam format of this series

Great job on the head and torso. I can't wait to see the rest.
Odin Jr. Hey Dad we have a cosplay for next week, could you help me?
Dad Odin: *Yes*
