Thank you! Me too. The joint articulation was something that worried me fully. it wasn't until I started with a cardboard version that I realized where the pivot points needed to be, and that Gunpla has it right, 2 pivots are needed.
@@OdinMakes I'm sure the legs will look killer when you're done! I haven't really experienced much gunpla past one kit and the legs on that while looking cool where not practical at all. I mean. Who puts thin blades as feet?
It’s honestly extremely impressive that you’ve been able to make a full Gundam suit this accurate that a human can actually move in. Plus all the small details that give it the machine made look is super impressive. Just awesome all around
Odin Makes I bet! Making the arms work the way they do also shows a huge amount of skill. I’m currently working on making Hellboy’s Right Hand of Doom like you did, and I’m trying to figure out the opening mechanism with the secondary strings you mentioned, and it’s a lot more complicated than I thought, so you making yours look so good is just awesome
This might be my favorite series of your video's I made an Optimus Prime, Hulkbuster and Megazord out of Cardboard.. also cosplays.. I hope you make more full suits..
Thank you! I think I will continue with full suits. Up till now my channel was being made around a full time job schedule. So single complete episodes of smaller items were best.
Okay, holy crap. I was impressed with how things were going before, but now that the arms are involved and things are moving around I'm blown away. I can't believe how much mobility he has! Can't wait to see the rest!
I have been looking for Gundam building references that are as helpful as this . I'm trying to build my favorite Gundam but i totally need to try this one out so I can get the feeling for it. You did such an amazing job with this I keep getting amazed by your work over and over again.
Seriously, so good man. Really enjoying watch you make this awesome design a practical/functional suit! Thanks for talking us through the details so that we can pick up some tricks as you go. Good good stuff.
This is by far my favorite build thus far! This will be a head-turner walking down the con floor. It would be nice to see a version or an update of this costume on stilts with more exaggerated pieces. Such as the chest and shoulders being double the width. Similar to the scale you see on Optimus Prime and Megatron suits at Universal Studios theme parks.
Спасибо, Один! Как всегда заслуженный лайк! Когда у меня что-то не получается в работе над моим косплеем, я смотрю твои видео, и тогда у меня появляется мотивация работать дальше.
This project is looking killer awesome so far! The articulations in the arms looks really good in function when being worn. Ideas for some future full suit builds: Pacific Rim Striker Eureka or a Bumblebee suit to go along with your helmet.
The heads a little big for the scale of the body and arms, but it all looks amazingly crisp with the appropriate handmade decals and everything. Lots of people would buy this.
*OKAY.* Now i wanna order a suit like that. This is incredible work! Just imagine this suit next to the full scale Gundam at Yokohama, how otherworldly amazing it would be!!
I have literally just discovered your channel, and I'm sure, there will be a small if not moderate flood of newcomers coming soon enough- but your content is amazing, far beyond a channel with only 400k subs. I hope you get lots of attention soon enough
This is just incredible, so much thought and skill going on to build this...its very, very impressive. I hope that the RX-78 is outfitted with a proper Beam Cannon. I think a nice complimentary suit to this would be any version of the Red Comet...
That arm bend is amazing, loving your Gundam videos, looking forward to seeing it completed. Maybe one day i'll attempt to build a Gundam cosplay for myself.
You bet! I was making stuff on the back porch of my apartment way back when. Power tools save time, that is about it. You can make this stuff without most of them! (I think a heat gun is necessary...)
11:18 - "Now I wonder how much abuse the suit can really take" You made this out of light-colored foam - in retrospect it might have been better to make it out of silver or black foam. That way if the paint wears off in places, it will look like a weathering effect. Love this work, though! It looks really sharp!
Nice.... what would be poetic thou is, I hope to see our favorite Odin making and wearing a full complete Odin Suit with the eye patch and his mighty spear ~ Gungnir for himself. I bet it will suit u perfectly...👍🏻
It actually changes. Sometimes just the week when the build is supposed to happen. I don't work that far ahead of my releases, which is really bad. My life is like a perpetual con crunch.
I have always thought a good way to do the beam sabers would be using a newer style toy lightsaber as a base so when its attached into the backpack you could recreate the iconic drawing the beam saber from over the shoulder just by pulling it down quickly without the need for a button or a swap out blade but the length of those are not the best
Looking awesome. I figured the arms would be rather difficult, considering how the Gundam's arms are attached verse how a human's are, but you got it all dealt with nicely. Waiting for the legs now and then hoping to see it in action some day.
I know exactly what you mean. There is a large space between the torso and the arms of a Gundam. Human have no space between the bicep and the rib cage, regardless of size! Doing my best to get the look.
i’m a super big fan of big hero 6 and i work in the medical feild. i’ve always wanted to have and see a real life size baymax that could talk to and interact with. maybe even walk or wear as a suit
I still say you need to buy two of the official 1/12 scale air shock beam sabers. They do come with mounts in them that are meant for the 1/12 jumbo size that would fit the backpack and you could likely use those to work a piece to make a light up beam saber blade. I have one myself and it's one of the most prized parts of my collection. Even if you don't use it straight up you could use pictures of that to develop your own with proper details.
Beam saber hilts needed to happen with the backpack build, time was against me there. I will Look into them! After the legs, I am planning at least one more video, armaments!
You got it, you understand the dilemma! The real scale problem is fitting over a human. The head could be a little smaller, but not much. Each piece is scaled to fit the joints and body measurements of Joe. This Gundam is Cosplay Scale, not 1/12!
I'm actually pretty amazed at how well you've articulated the arms
Thank you! Me too. The joint articulation was something that worried me fully. it wasn't until I started with a cardboard version that I realized where the pivot points needed to be, and that Gunpla has it right, 2 pivots are needed.

U should check out Uberscosplay for some of his if ur interested in upgrading to plastic builds, last one he did was Unicorn (green psycho frame)
Freedomcustom I’ve wanted to try a few melee weapon props in plastic, but sadly my funding isn’t conducive for it right now
" Now I really am using this tool to cut corners" Oh Odin, thy wits are as goods as thy tricks.
Thank you!
my children have no idea what gundam is but they jut love watching this with me. Odin is just freaking awesome no matter what he makes.
Request: Doom Slayer's sword using a similar technique to that of your darksaber

Dude, the attention to set and the engineering, this build has been so awesome!

I'd love to see you tackle suits like this for other series, like power rangers/super sentai and voltron!
I absolutely love the elbow mechanisms-brilliant!

Such a wonderful series Odin! It has been a pleasure to watch both the thought and fabrication process.
When it's all put together, it looks amazing! Well done Odin.
Thank you! I am excited to get some legs under him next month!
This is just sick. I'm a big Gundam fan and am gonna follow this build to the end.

Wow that's a huge project, a lot of stuff to build! Amazing!
This series of the gundam build is so cool!!! Cant wait till its complete!!!
This project is looking killer awesome so far! The articulations in the arms looks really good in function when being worn.

Wow, I might use these ideas of this suit to make my own Gundam Unicorn Suit
This is really looking phenomenal, Odin! Super work!

Hi Odin! You're such a badass! These arms I would imagine would be similar to 90% of the 80's Transformers as well
I would love that, G1 or IDW transformers stuff would be amazing.
I bet they are!

@@marcustepase2997 well there was a later Zaku I think, it was really quite the machine - i forget which series it was from but it was impressive...
Looks awesome! Glad to see Gundam getting some love.
This build is just awesome 👍👍👍 It makes sense that Joe has more movement than he expected to have since it's a mobile suit 😁
Finishing up the legs today!
That arm bend is amazing, loving your Gundam videos, looking forward to seeing it completed. Maybe one day i'll attempt to build a Gundam cosplay for myself.

This build is simply stunning !!!
Wow this is actually crazy man it looks just like the real thing can’t wait to see the finished result

My new favorite term:
"What the foam"
That is AMAZING !! I love Gundam and build models of them all the time. I can’t wait for this to be finished, you’re doing an amazing job!!
Can you make the Shepard’s journal from Disney’s Atlantis?!
That looks absolutely amazing
It's coming out pretty sweet looking

i can imagine for the shield you can use thin plywood to give it a base then use foam over it to give it shape. that way it is solid but light weight
