Mt. Airy is great! That town has so much charm. I have been there several times. Kim B and I met the real Floyd the Barber. He took our picture and put it up in the Floyd's Barber Shop. The Pork Chop sandwich at the snappy lunch is very famous. Andy used to eat them all the time. I sat in Andy's chair and desk at the courthouse. Great video. Throughly enjoyed it. I really love your road adventures. I look forward to see where you are going to go next. 😊

I was there in november. They have a 10K and half Marathon road race there every year. I did the 10k. Afterwards we toured the town. We ate at Walkers luncheonette. We went into Floyd's and talked with the barber for an hour. He was a walking Mayberry history book! Did you see the jail and gas station? Just a couple blocks from the museum.

Hey yall! I visited Mt Airy last summer! It was so fun! Theres a nice trail to walk at pilot mountain. And....the ride around town in the cop car was a hoot!😂 I also remember as a kid laughing so hard when we listened to What it was was Football. You have to hear it one day. Also, in Floyds barber shop, we met the original Floyds son. Such a nice man to chat with.

Gatlinburg had a small church like that on airport road several years ago I don't know why they tore it down . There was a motel on that road called bear land lodge that is a parking lot now. So many precious memories of Gatlinburg
Mount airy is a great place to visit where I live is Danville Virginia it is a small town we go to Mayberry often it is only an hour or so away from there and the day in September I think it is a festival it is so crowded and packed we went we could not find a parking spot either I absolutely love your videos they are amazing keep up the great work that y'all are doing.

My wife surprised me with a trip to Mayberry Days for my 50th birthday oh my gosh 20 years ago! That was the year Andy was there the first and only time he attended Mayberry Days to dedicate the statue of him and Opie. There is a parade with reenactors and some actual actors that were on the show. I got to see the Darling Boys play a show. They are actually the Dillards bluegrass band. I got to talk with Rodney the guitar player in the band for several minutes outside on the sidewalk super nice guy. He talked about spreading the good news of Jesus in the show and I told him how much I appreciated that. I would recommend going in September for this awesome event. As you can tell I'm a BIG fan of the show! ~Dave~

I was born in the 50s and grew up on Andy Griffith show. We have a restaurant close to us called the Mayberry Cafe. They have a lot of memorabilia. It's in a small cute town called Danville Indiana.
Spent a few days there 2yrs ago for my birthday. One of my favorite places to visit. I've been a fan of the Andy Griffith Show since I was a kid. Snappy Lunch was the only real life place mentioned in the show from Mt Airy.

Don't get your hopes up that the filming of the show was there because it wasn't. The show was filmed in California but based off Andy's town
