Love all your purchases and thanks for discussing the difference between the duties vs sales tax when shopping outside of Europe and entering Canada. Would love to hear your experience going through customs in Canada and how you have to pay the taxes after you exceed the $800 limit when you arrive. I’ve watch the luxonomy video before and her experience is just outright terrifying and I would rather not have to deal with that.
I bought the Chanel 19 21A in grey in June 2021 and the 20B purple was also available and was CAD $500 less. Couple weeks later I saw on the Chanel official website that the 21B was $500 more than what I paid for the 21A so there definitely was at least two price increases in Canada between summer 2020 and summer 2021.
Glad the video was informative! Yes, I bet that would be so frustrating if they tried to charge duty! I’m my experience, it’s never been the case luckily. Oh so there was an increase! Good to know!

Awesome haul! Happy belated birthday and congrats for everything you got Jasleen. I just got my Guilloché bracelet back from sizing and I also changed the clasp, I love mine as well. I agree with you about the trainers I love mines too. As per the white CF, mine is 21B in the size small as well, but it’s a tinier different in the shade, I love mine, yes you are right they are not microchips just chips with an authenticity number lol. I hope you love yours!

Yes, colours, even though permanent, can have subtle differences due to the hide and dye lot. Even black bags can be different.

Yes my hands are tiny and it’s kind of difficult to put it on my own unless I am using the magnetic claps. I think small is the prettiest size for the CF. The white is gorgeous and it looks great on you! Also, I think all white classic flaps are made in france.
Thank you so much! Yes, I think all smalls and mediums tend to be made in France. For a long time Jumbos and Maxis were mostly made in Italy. But now, I am noticing that that larger sizes are also made in France.

Thank you for explaining the duty and taxes for Canadians! It is very useful! Do we need to pay for duty when we buy EU made goods from the US instead of direct from EU?
Also! I love love love the Dior jackets on you! Esp the cream! The cut is so flattering on you, in all the ways you put them on (draped, worn open or closed buttons). I've always thought Balmain and Dior RTW are very you, much more than Chanel.

So when you purchase EU made products from the US, you still only pay sales tax on the amount. (Minus the $800 exemption). But the kicker is, most of the time, there is no tax free shipping in the US- you’ll pay the state tax and then our provincial sales tax on top 😭 whereas in the EU you get credited their vat.
However, if you are ordering online from the US from say Fashionphile, they don’t charge you the state tax
it's interesting what Dacob says about the cross stitch. I looked into it after his video and vintage smalls in lambskin from the 90s/early series (I can tell they are small because they only have 7 diamonds) do have the cross stitch, so he is not quite correct that they never had them before now.
Also editing to say the white small looks perfectly proportioned on you!

Yes! I looked back on photos I have from 2020 and 2019, and some of the smalls had that! I think it just depends on collection and season.

I live in Canada and I always have to pay duties for Fashionphile items, no matter if the item was made in Europe. I don't understand. Nice haul though!
Interesting. So what you paid was a combination of provincial sales tax plus duty? Anything that I or one of my friends imported had sales tax only on the declared value (13%) plus maybe a $10-20 brokerage fee.

The guilloche scratches easily n loses its shine after a while. I bought and sold it after a month when i saw few scratches. Buy the hammered gold one. Thats the one u can wear daily. :)
Oh great point, Jiya. I have noticed faint scratches, but I know it’s inevitable with any jewellery. The engraving distracts from those though. I haven’t noticed any loss in shine, though. I wear mine everyday and even in the shower. But thanks for the warning, I’ll try to be more careful with mine!

Hi, do you take your purchases with you in hand? or you send in the luggage?
I always prioritize packing my valuable pieces in my carryon hand luggage because I would never want to risk losing the items if my checked baggage were to get lost or stolen. Also, you really should keep the items handy so you can be ready to present them to customs - they don't always ask to see the items, but it's expected you have them with you both when you depart Europe and arrive in your home country. I hope that helps!

If you were expecting a short video of just unboxing items, then that is very boring to film and watch and gives no valuable information to the viewer. If speedy unboxings are what you prefer, then please stick to Instagram reels and tik tok. I flew all the way to Paris and dropped a lot of money on these “few things” - I’m gonna take as much time as I like 😊
