      Oddly on my Seiko Capt. Willard and steel bezel MM reduced, the bracelets are actually pretty damned good and the bezel lines up. They are JDM version which may help, and are like $1200 with free shipping. But otherwise I agree, their bracelets sux, pain n the ass with their pin and collar system. (god forgive the little suckers pops off the table) on the positive side their rubber like straps are great. So usually go that route, if I want a bracelet, I'd go with Strapco which are all pilled, screws no pins and collars and are made for the style of watch. Did that with a Citizen Neptune,Seiko Alpinist and Monster. Uncle Seiko if you want tropic or similar.

      Lol Dave thanks to yours and Jody's reviews I just picked up the Citizen although I went with the blue dial BJ7100-15L which I could only find from Australia. Hoping to get the Citizen bracelet as an extra in case I want to swap it out.

    Just picked up the Citizen but in a blue dial, yellow GMT hand and leather & fabric strap ... hoping to get a bracelet as an extra to swap out when I want. The dial BJ7100-15L just appealed to me more than the BJ7100-82E all stainless steel version.

    Two beautiful watches, Goran. I love Japanese watches and that Citizen, in particular, is very appealing for me as I am still looking for a jump-hour GMT. I just wish it had a clicking bi-directional bezel. I have never found QC issues on any of my Citizens and the seconds hand hits the markers very well on my Eco-drives. P.S. I always chuckle at the fact that GMTs rarely, if ever, feature any Canadian cities … very Canadian to fly under the radar 😀🇨🇦. Thanks for sharing the watches with us … a very enjoyable video, as always.

    • @backintimewatches
      @backintimewatches  3 года назад

      True, that seems to be the Canadian way 👌 I would also love to see a clicking bezel on this one, and yet there is one great thing about the free spinning one: It cannot be misaligned! 😂 Thank YOU for watching. Means a lot to me ❤️

      I’m sure there are benefits if one has an open mind and if you actually think hard about it. But even the AD where I bought it from said it’s a way to cut costs from Seiko so… 🤷‍♂️ And I don’t know if you actually notice the 10 gram difference between solid end-links and hollow ones. You can email them and ask, they're pretty good about getting back to you, maybe not in a day ot two, but they will. While I wouldn't call Strapco inexpensive, they aren't priced crazy and you get what you pay for, they also ship fast. Aldo if you know the exact bracelet from Strapco, check Amazon and Long Island watch and save some money. But if I ask them, I buy from them out of respect. Marc from LIW or one of his employees will also answer a question from email. You can save $15-20

    Great review! The Citizen is stated being 44.5m and you mentioned it looks no bigger than 40m. Can you confirm the case size and which one do you prefer from the two? The citizen seems better made, the Seiko is smaller, thinner, and lighter.

    • @tiagodvt
      @tiagodvt 2 года назад

      Completely different watches, but to me the Seiko is way overpriced, makes no sense at over 500€. The Citizen offers great specs for the price, with the GMT complication and an awesome bracelet. And great quality overall.
      You can obviously google the specs, but the Citizen is 41.something/42mm, around 13mm height, 48 lug to lug. Wears pretty much like a SKX wih the tall/vertical bezel.

  • @ProperCh
    @ProperCh 3 года назад +1

    I agree this model is overpriced for the specs it offers. Citizen Ecodrive is more value based on the specs but imo what sets this watch apart is the case shape comparable to SPB line which is a very good case shape, thick bezel for good action, the looks if that is valuable to you, and good size for those looking for 38mm solar model. Yes the Ecodrive models are more value but not everyone likes their look. Seiko is smart they put themselves at a good position at every range in the entry level market.

  • @dustinr16

    The bracelet on that Seiko is garbage for $500. You complained bout the cheap stamped clasp and not the folded end links? The folded end links are a much worse problem than the stamped clasp. They’ll bend out of shape upon removing the bracelet and create a rattly bracelet. For $500 should have both solid end links and a milled clasp. Really like the 38.5mm size and overall case dimensions of the Seiko solar diver.

    • @backintimewatches
      @backintimewatches  3 года назад

      I totally agree 👍 I actually didn’t see the end links in this unboxing but I talk about them in my upcoming “State of the Collection 2021” (will be released tomorrow). I actually visited my local Seiko AD and talked a little about exactly this. And it’s absolutely only about cost cutting. But when I google it, many seem to like the vintage feel that the hollow end links give them 🤷‍♂️
