What's funny are the reasons it were shut. 1. It was in Tommorowland but celebrated America's bicentennial. Themeing? What's that? And 2, as it celebrated the 200th anniversary of America, it was becoming very outdated and Disney already had some patriotic celebrations active which were much less expensive than a whole rotating ride. Even if we ignore that the building where this was housed is now the queue for Galaxy's Edge, it being based upon an outdated celebration pretty much kills it at least in Disney's eyes. The death of Debbi Stone probably didn't help matters given how infamous this ride became as a result but the last past is merely speculation whereas the other two are confirmed.
Now sadly Splash mountain is now being re themed to Tiana's Bayou Adventure and animatronics are now all removed and interior completely gutted. These Animatronics are 50 years old and have no future purpose probably going to all be scrapped.

Thank you for sharing this. Wonderful memories from my childhood. You allowed me to clap along with my grand kids.
That's cool that you got to go! I would love to be able to see these guys in person.

Thank you for posting this gem! I remember going on this dozens of times as a kid, between 1980 and 1988
Barely Early 1988 since it closed in april 10 that same year
These characters are so cute! I wish we saw more of this style. The foxes are especially adorable.
Ikr, I especially like the duck, goose ones? Idk what they are ngl.
I love this!
Classic! This is the Disneyland of my childhood.
Debbie stones death aside, these animatronics are well made
She is ok
Thanks for posting this. It was always my favorite disneyland show.
Man I wish I could time travel back to 1980 to early 1988 to experience this in person
I always liked this ride.

I first saw this show in 1987 which was my first trip to Disneyland at the age of eleven. boy was this show great!
Good for you
Fun Fact: After the Show Closed Down. The Animatronics Where Retrofited and moved into Splash Mountain.
Some were retrofitted.
And 2 of the geese were stripped down and became droids in Star Tours
Now sadly Splash mountain is now being re themed to Tiana's Bayou Adventure and animatronics are now all removed and interior completely gutted. These Animatronics are 50 years old and have no future purpose probably going to all be scrapped.
@@briancalifornia1 yes it hurts. They were beautiful animatronics designed by Marc Davis
@@PrimeStoneToons except the weasel, he was extremely annoying
I wasn't alive around this time period but respect the 80s really well so this would've been a must do if I ever went to Disneyland in the 80s. This is pretty cool how you can see the entire theater from afar, I still wonder why the lights are always turned off as the theater rotates.
You can't see it in the videos, but there was a really cool light effect- so everything was kind of outlined in lights until the show lights came up after the theater had revolved. It was a neat transition.
80s Disneyland was AWESOME!
@@xxxblasted77sonicpressure The 80s in general were awesome! And this is someone who was born in 1990 saying that. Not that the 1990s weren't also awesome of course.
what I would give to have been alive in the 80s.. to be able to go to showbiz, see these guys, and just be alive in that time. it seems so cool, plus pretty much all of my interests are from the 80s-90s.

I saw this in person many times. It was great and a favorite.
My mom went in 87 of June for her graduation loved this ride she does not like splash mountain and wish this ride could reopen maybe it could with same characters and princes and the frog stays where splash mountain use to be.
Same
Happy 4th
look at how fluid the anamatromics were
I recognize a lot of these animatronics from splash mountain. I wish this attraction was still at Disney
I wish I went on this ride. I wasn't even born at the time, but by then when I was it had already been taken away. Splash Mountain's now being remodeled which sucks but hopefully the animatronics will still be on the ride.
I wish I was born in time to see these old attractions.

I remember seeing this attraction very well I think I was at least 3 when I first saw it until it was closed when I was 5
Since Splash Mountain closed, it would be cool if they used the animatronics to recreate America Sings and put it in Epcot
I second this!
Used to looooove this attraction!!🇺🇸🧨🎆🎶🎷🎺
I miss it
Exactly what I was looking for 👍
They either need to bring back animatronics shows like this and Kitchen Karabaret or make some hybrid combination of animatronics and modern technology
one of my fav things they used to have
I want one of those fox animatronics.
I hope they auction one off, I’d pay anything.
@Alexandra Pierce; Garner Holt can make any audioanimatronic you desire. You got the green Garner Holt has your audioanimatronic solution at hand.
@@josephsharp8081 I highly recommend going to Garner Holt’s website and taking a look for yourself. They literally can do it all from the Robin in Mary Poppins to the Tyrannosaurus in Jurassic Park.
@@josephsharp8081 knowing people that are clients of Garner Holt, yes Garner Holt can make it happen, however it’s certainly costly due to the level of detail, the materials and naturally the electronics and hydraulic systems to animate the desired figures. Price quotes of over $300k are common when dealing with Disney level audioanimatronics.

@@Sadie_the_bordercollie Hey I got even better news! One of my subscribers went to Disneyland recently and heared a conversation in Innovations of two Disneyland's veteran emplooyees and he heared they said that Debbie Stone only left the job after July 8 1974 cuz she got married and got enough money to college, the body that was found was actually a fake zombie corpse of a terror attraction that was accidentally left there and the screams people heard in the show was a emplooyee who saw the fake zombie corpse, after that they closed the attraction for 3 days as they buried the fake zombie corpse which was confused a Debbie Stone's, but no, Debbie stills alive!
I very love this place and the music is amaizing ☆
Just being a general tech nerd I have to question if there's some practical reason as to why the weasel appears in each skit. I wonder if it's a creative means of synchronizing the tape machines to assure all the shows are synced.
Or perhaps it's a cleverly masked control signal that automatically triggers a second tape machine for each scene which would be nessacary for a continuous system such as this to work.
Carousel of Progress never seemed to need anything like that, so I doubt it.
I believe he was just a running gag the creators thought was silly and cute.
Was the weasel in Splash Mountain?
