I just absolutely love the fact that the bookworld is doing such a huge thing and everyone's getting excited for it and then the rest of the world has no idea this is going on. Kind of feels like a cool secret society or something.
WERK THAT DERP FACE! Lmao! Thanks for the tips! I'm definetly gonna use them during booktubeathon! I love reading so much that I set goals for booktubeathon. My goals are: 1) read 500 pages a day 2) read all the books in my tbr pile 3) finish all the booktubeathon challenges. IM SOOOOOO PUMPED FOR MONDAY!!! :D
I once tried doing a readathon when I was falling behind on my TBR, now I have one every single Saturday. EDIT: If you are going to be doing a readathon, I recommend setting up your TBR full of books you are already reading. Also, the night before read as much of the first book as you can so you can finish that book quicker.
im one of those people that hardly get stressed even when im doing and assignment that counts for half my grade on the bus in the morning cause i was reading all night.
I'm On An Island Of Books i get stressed alot....so much that i sometimes even say to myself breathe!!! It is jxt a 8 class 1st quarter exam (i am in 8 class)
This is my first read-a-thon--so excited! Thanks for the tips! :) I think I'm going to use your idea of buying myself a book if I finish all of the challenges.
Love this, very helpful! Whenever I participate in a readathon, I normally start out great and than I finish a book and I can't get into a new one... mainly because I am still thinking about the last one. So I guess a good tip would be after you finish your book to go on goodreads and write a thorough review about it, or talk about the book to a friend, just to make sure that you have closure to your book. Than you can immerse yourself in a new world. Thank you for your tips!
I did the note thing with a birthday gift for a friend. I just drew little doodle/compliments/song lyric on post it noted and stuck them through out the book. She loved it.
This is going to be my very first BookTubeAThon and even though I am such a slow reader I AM SOOO FREAKIN EXCITED!!!! Thank you so much for these great tips Jesse!!!! :)
Thanks so much for the tips Jesse! Next week is just going to be stressful since I'm taking a prep course at a community college and i'm really stressed by that, but handling the read-a-thon now should be more relaxing when using your tips.(:
DERP FACES 😂😆😄🙊 literally you are the most real and genuine person ive seen actually having the courage to pull those faces to be put on youtube and seen world wide. YOU ARE HILLARIOUS! .......... i like you jesse! 😜
Thank you so much for the tips Jesse. These will really help me. I always get distracted in my room, and youtube distracts me from reading. I'm scared that I'm going to get in a reading slump after reading all the books. :) I heard when people say to reward yourself after finishing a book and I think it's a great idea. I can reward myself with chocolate or ice cream because those are my weaknesses, lol. I am so excited!
Will definitely be in need of these tips haha! Also, loving the amount of people starting to make videos this booktubeathon because it made it so much less daunting to put mine up!
I'm starting a me-only 24-hour readathon tonight, so hopefully, I enjoy myself and read a decent chunk of books and or pages. I have 2 books in my tbr that I'm not too excited about which are past DNF's so hopefully I at least attempt one of them again.
Derp faces are awesome! Plus, thank you for the tips. I think they will really help since this is my first Read-A-Thon/Book-Tube-A-Thon. I LOVE THE NOTES AND CANDY IDEA! THANKS JESSE! XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDX!!! S
Definitely going to put "Encouragements" (TFiOS reference) in my books now! Thanks for the tips Jesse (but mostly, thanks for bestowing apon me the honour of seeing your derp faces)!!!!
Those faces though😂 I love you Jessie!!!!!!!! You should do your booktubathon tbr! Are you gonna do daily updates? Thanks for the tips, I always stress and then I end up not accomplishing anything :( but you helped a ton!! Thanks :)
Have watched this same video for like 3 times for pep (big thanks). I drew derpy faces on post its and now they're all over in my books. May the mighty Derpy Faces lead me through this epic marathon...
Great tips! I think you've covered all the stops. That note idea sounds awesome! XD I love that you included eating. I'm very pumped for Booktube-A-thon!
I always get distracted by the internet while reading! I'm actually going on vacation with no wifi during last few days of the read-a-thon so maybe I won't get so distracted. Also I love your derp faces.
One of my motivations is going to be - you. (No, not in a creepy way, though that would be hilarious.) I'm picking "Miss Peregrine's" and "Hollow City" as part of my TBR at long last, and given that "The Archived" is one of my favorite series, and your recommendations haven't failed me yet, I plan to keep reminding myself that "Jesse loves this, so it's probably really good" in case I find that I'm slacking.
I think that listening to music helps me read a lot of the time. Maybe just play your favorite music. Also, Jesse, that derp face should be a thing now.
Love those derpy faces lol, and I kind of died a little during this when you said to put us little cheesy motivational quotes because it like reminded me of TFIOS and Augustus lol. This was really helpful by the way lol
Thanks for the video! I actually work better and more efficiently under stress, so I am hoping to use that to my advantage. Lol. Never done a readathon, so we will have to see how it goes. Also...love the rewards idea. I'll have to think of something for myself :)
This was a great video Jesse!! Sadly I won't be able to participate on the booktubeathon this year but these are still great tips to keep in mind. Thanks for doing it! :)
Very useful tips, Jesse! It's just my second readathon in total & everytime I'm thinking about it I get really stressed out! Thank you for the tips! Will definitely use them! ;) I can't get enough of your derp faces! XDDD
Important thing to remember - people lie about everything so maybe they are lying about how many books/pages they read. So don't worry about what other people are doing and NEVER be intimidated by the "achievements" of others.
Not gonna lie, after making my tbr video I had a deer in headlights moment and felt a pang of stress. This definitely made me feel better and more motivated lol. Let's do this!!!!
If only I had the money to reward myself with a new book , I just spent it all on books
I died a little bit at your derp faces...
DON'T DIE.
at 4:30 i died
I just absolutely love the fact that the bookworld is doing such a huge thing and everyone's getting excited for it and then the rest of the world has no idea this is going on. Kind of feels like a cool secret society or something.
Same haha
petition to have a derpy face segment in every single jessethereader video
I love that idea of leaving things throughout your book! That's so cool.
i realize it's quite off topic but do anyone know a good place to watch new series online ?
@Bowie Malachi try Flixzone. Just search on google for it =)
@Bowie Malachi i use flixzone. Just search on google for it :)
@Bowie Malachi I would suggest Flixzone. Just google for it =)
@Bowie Malachi I watch on FlixZone. You can find it by googling :)
Jesse you are my FAVORITE BOOK TUBER!!! You always give me motivation to read. Haha keep making videos!!!
I never knew how much I wanted to print out pictures of your derp faces until now!
LOL. I hope they help you succeed.
Me either.
Also, if your library has a summer reading program going on, the idea of winning a dope prize could be very motivational.
your derp faces were the funniest thing I've seen😂😂
they scare me. xD
OMG!! I only see one bookshelf:] that’s when you know this is an old video

Important thing to remember - people lie about everything so maybe they are lying about how many books/pages they read. So don't worry about what other people are doing and NEVER be intimidated by the "achievements" of others.
Candy always does the trick...!
Not gonna lie, after making my tbr video I had a deer in headlights moment and felt a pang of stress. This definitely made me feel better and more motivated lol. Let's do this!!!!
I wish I could take part but I'm in a musical that week so don't have any time, every single read a thon I tell ya, it's either exams or shows
So do I need to go through your TBR pile and leave encouraging notes with pictures of your derp faces in your books now? 😂
