  • A checker board cutting board. This board is fairly large. Not your typical kitchen size cutting board. 18 X 24X 1 1/2. The squares are 1.5 X 1.5 and the entire piece is made of walnut and maple. I am really pleased with how this one turned out. A few months ago I made my wife one just like this only smaller and no juice groove.
I hope you enjoyed the video and please leave me a comment below. I always love hearing from you.

Great presentation. Love the way you explained everything. Having worked with wood for 30 years it was nice listening to an experienced woodworker. BTW never thought I would see another woodworker have a set of Jet clamps as well as Jorgenson

Thank you. My wife bought me those jet clamps several yrs ago. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have them. They are good clamps but way to expensive. I have an abundance of clamps brands. Never did stick to one particular brand.

Nicely done. The jig for the juice groove is a keeper. Almost as much work as the board 😊. I’ll have to try that sand paper.

Thanks. Yeah there is a little work to the jig but if you are going to batch several out to sale or even as gifts its work it and you can always keep it. That sand paper worked very well and even better if you run vacuum with it. I was impressed and didn't use vacuum. It's a winner

Why Rubio instead of mineral oil and beeswax? Good looking board.

The customer who ordered this board had previously bought a Butcher block counter top from me and it was finished with rubio also and she wanted the cutting board to match the counter top
