- The 2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio was the worlds fastest SUV when it debuted a few years ago, and its still an incredible machine today in 2023! Still today it's only just been bested by much more expensive vehicles like the Lamborghini URUS and Bentley Bentayga.

I don't think anyone I've watched has done as detailed of a technical breakdown on this engine and car, I am pretty impressed.
This is the best review I have seen of this car. This woman really does her research.
Indeed
"A drunken ferret on a hardwood floor wearing rubber boots!" Sarah my dear! You have outdone yourself. The "exotic" manufacturers are smart to give you their cars to review. If they believe in their offering, they are going to get an honest review. Not to mention a highly entertaining one. I think the world is slowly but surely discovering our national treasure named Sarah!
First, having a Ferrari engine of any cylinder size is racing 🏎️ material feeling. Second, the tight handing and braking is all Alpha Romero. Bravissimo! Sarah 🇮🇹
The car gets a Penguin Score of 10. Sarah gets a Penguin Score of 11. As does the review, the tech info, the enthusiasm, the humour, the passion, the production value and, as ever, the all round entertainment. 👍👌
Finally…a vehicle painted in a NICE colour for a change. Not Wimpy White, not Been-There Black, not Soul-less Silver, not Give Me an Imagination Grey… I really like this shade of green!
Looks like one of those shiny green beetles (the bug, not the VW). I love it too!
For sure.
Both this and alfa's red are gorgeous
I agree with you about being an interesting color, but I tastefully disagree with you about liking the color.
It’s supposed to be red, not green. Wrong color.
Sarah and an Alfa Romeo the best combo ever!❤️
One can only be called a true petrolhead once has experienced an Alfa Romeo.
This is one of my new favourite channels. The mix of genuine enthusiast passion with just jaw-dropping technical knowledge is fantastic.
As Italian I'm really proud that Sarah reviews an Alfa Romeo 😊
I'm half Italian too.. and I have a 2018 Stelvio ... 2.0L and I love it... this is awesome to see Sarah in an Alfa!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you're proud of this junk? In 5 years it will be worthless & full of electrical problems.
As a Italian food enthusiast I am also proud😢
And all the Alfa haters will be swarming
@@luigig6256 What? Is there even thing like Alfa haters?
In the last 60 years Alfa never put so much effort to get a car completely right. Complimenti, ragazzi!
Great video as usual and thumbs up for pronuciation, you get it right!!!
Disagree
My first car was a 1974 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe.
I later found out from Wikipedia that the engine designer and body designer had both come over from Ferrari.
I called it my Poor Man's Ferrari.
DOHC engine, 4 wheel disc brakes, independent suspension, and well balanced.
Very advanced tech for the early 70's.
I'm glad you're getting more and more auto makers. You deserve the recognition 👏
Absolutely.
Indeed.
Love Sarah's shows makes clear rerestoration and❤ modifications that only a person of her expertise cañ bring off. Bonus
Miss I tune is witty, charming, graceful and strikingly gorgeous .
Congrats Sarah on landing an Alfa, your reviews are top notch and they know it.
Besides the beauty of it all. The yellow pointer hand and clicking talons on metal and composite surfaces are frigin mint. Thanks Sarah 🌻🐧
Alfa Romeo have always had amazing engineering, with rear mounted transmissions and twin spark plugs per cylinder, always super cool engineering. Truly cars for car enthusiast . Think we all would love to have one of these. Love the review.
Finally…a vehicle painted in a NICE colour for a change)
I think Alpha Romeo have really been creating some beautiful looking cars recently and to see them having power to match the looks is great. I really like this, and as always, a fabulous and fun review Sarah
*Alfa
Sarah, I am so happy that you like our Italian Alfa Romeo! Yes, it might be a bit behind in terms of technology and maybe a rear climate control could be at least an option but it’s a car that can deliver unlimited fun and plenty of smiles! I honestly wish you to buy one in the near future and would be amazing to see an Italian car on the channel
I enjoy driving my Stelvio Veloce everyday. I can't imagine how great driving the Quad would be. Great review.
Great review Sarah of an amazing car. The Julia Quadrifolio was to be my next car (not new) replacing a TVR Chimaera (new) and an old 911, after having had 7 Alfa's this was to be my final car. Sadly I had to give up driving due to health issues so now my petrolhead fix come vicariously via your road tests and builds. I would say keep it up Sarah but I know you work way too hard already.
Work/life balance needed similar to that here in UK - love your channel.
wow, that vehicle was designed perfectly in every way
That chassis is impressive. The Stelvio is pretty nice too.
🤔😳👍👍
With Sarah in full view, the car hardly matters in comparison.
06:36 Alright.... now what you all have been waiting for... The all-important bolstering test. How about a "Bolstering test compilation, in the future, Sarah? After all, we are all interested in safety. 😌
I love it. It looks like a big green bean sprout with quad exhausts.
I just love this machine. Thank you for your review and the detail that many other reviewers neglect.
My score for the Stelvio is 100% it's exactly the kind of SUV I'd have the time of my life in.
A lot of people have spoken about how amazing an Alfa is that too a Quadrifoglio version. Few have backed up Alfa's with reliability. I do understand that Japanese car manufacturers like Toyota and Honda are known for their amazing reliability. However, after driving my Alfa Romeo Stelfio for more than 15000 miles (which was already driven for 32,000 miles), I can easily say that there are absolutely zero reliability issues. I would testify the opinion that only petrolheads and actual Alfa owners know the true reliability of an Alfa Romeo. A lot of mechanics on youtube defame Fiat and their brands but Alfa is different. The sheer pleasure of driving an Alfa is out of this world. Not to mention, there are absolutely no cars in this segment that are as beautifully designed as this Italian beast. I can easily say that my Alfa can run another 100K miles without a hitch. Cheers to all the petrol-heads !
I loved how in depth your review for the Stelvio QV was, especially the details of the suspension components that I had forgotten about.
Flippin love your vids Sarah. Packed full of interesting info and hilariously presented. Just the best.
Cheers, from Yorkshire.
Boy, you and that sweet Italian (Ferrari-powered) SUV together was a treat. Thanks.
Cheers.
Daily driving one is amazing. I got a 2020 with 26k miles for $50,000. It is not as refined of a ride as a mercedes but it puts a huge smile on my face.
I've had a Giulia QF for 4 years now. Still love it! Hope you get yours someday!
I've been sleeping on your channel. You are really entertaining. Of course I subscribed 😁
Great review of a unique and desirable vehicle. I kept thinking what a great looking St Patrick's day ( car, top and nails) ! Amazing job!!!!
The Alfa logo is embossed into the headrest not embroidered into the headrest. Sarah continues to do one of the most detailed and intelligent reviews on the net. Your knowledge about your subjects is always remarkable. Can’t imagine how much time you must spend prepping for these reviews. And you’re still as gorgeous as ever.
Alfa are nailing it right now, love them more than ever. The gulia is beautiful. I love saying quadrifiglioio
This was a great review of this SUV! Your attention to detail is just amazing! Thank you!!
Great review!! Built quality is great I’m glad you went into details under there, it really is an epic SUV!🍀🇮🇹🔥
That color is absolutely mesmerizing 🤤
What a great insight into the Sq4 impressed with knowledge and beauty
As I’m watching from Italy, I was looking forward to this! Well done Sarah, and I sure do feel the same as you: wish I could afford to buy one of these amazing Alfas! 👍🇮🇹
Wow 😯 just the greatest 😊
Most technical review i've seen about this car! From the bottom of my heart, thank you! And if someone knows other channels making technical reviews like this, feel free to share them under here
"You're not buying this to showoff to other people: You're buying it to showoff to yourself" Perfectly stated. (applies to Alfas of any era)
This video was so good lol... the tech specs were amazing, and the quirkiness was a welcome change to 55 year old dads reviewing vehicles like this.
Also the complete secondary parking brake caliper is really nice, new vehicles often just have it incorporated and as someone who uses vehicles for 30 years I've often felt like having a "backup" so to speak is always smartest...
This thing definitely deserves the "Oh Geez!" on the beans 🤣🤣
Great test on the Alfa, Sarah. I owned several Italian stallions in the 60-70's and back then they left all opposition in the dust, including the biggest. Apart from that they were the first onto the Australian market with 4 wheel discs and independent suspension. I had so much fun in my 20-30's until the kids came along. Then it was boring sedans with Child Safety seats. You are right with the car being great to drive...very addictive, especially the hills and curves. Thanks again for the memories. From Brisbane Australia
I’m on my third Alfa. I love them. They are amazing cars and trouble free…
Rocking the boots and a great review. While driving looks like you went through some brush fire damage
Beautiful car! The hill descent mode is probably there for driving in the Alps or Pyrenees. I've seen luxury cars on crazy dangerous mountain roads over there.
I am so glad you got do a preview on a Alfa Romeo. I have the 2.0 Giulia and it's just as balanced as the QV. I have had mine for 5 years and love it just as now as I did when I bought it. You did a fantastic job as you always do! I was so excited to see you like the Alfa so much!
These cars never get old! They're as fun to drive now, as they were the first week we got them out of the dealer!
Glad to see the Stelvio Quadrifoglio in your channel, hope you can get the Giulia QV and other versions of Alfas.
Sarah-n-Tunifolio. That sounds good and I love the green paint. The attention to detail is exactly what you like. That is why it is the perfect 10.0. Now to get you to a RUclips millionaire and you can afford one.
such a pretty car, and what a fantastic review! you are getting so good at this! with the way you articulate rather complex thoughts in a funny and illustrative ways, yeah that's talent.
It's an Alfa so I would always have doubts about reliability, but... That is a fabulous looking car, inside and out with a fantastic color. The traction and handling under what looked like pretty rainy conditions seemed amazing. Given how absurd all luxury car prices have become, the sticker on this doesn't seem that far out of wack from other vehicles with only 70% of the styling and performance. For those that can afford it, this could be a great "Red Barchetta" car -- something to buy and hold as a last relic of the ICE age as we hurtle towards a vastly different car world.
Do you know why you have doubts about Alfa Romeo reliability? Because you probably belong the vast majority of people that actually never had one but know they're unreliable because everybody says so ...or because of a cousin of a neighbor knows so.
It has been very beneficial to the German car industry to keep that unreliable image - not so for the Italian car industry though.
As a car enthusiast I've always admired the Italian ICE engineering, they've lots of patents and technology that every other brand also uses - maybe the most common example, being the 'common rail' on each and every Diesel engine.
I've owned and been driving Italian cars all my life. They're quite expensive to own because of depreciation when you want to trade them, but unreliable? It's kind of the opposite.
@miks564 It could stem from hearing jokes on Car Talk for decades about Fiat standing for "Fix It Again Tony" or anecdotes about Ferraris and Lamborghinis being extremely expensive to maintain and having inconsistent quality from hand manufacturing. I take your point, though.
Yeah Alfa are very well engineered and reliable
@@CumminsVoortman Yes they are, but only a few know about it.
Reliability only owners know about it. They mostly suffer from the usual electronic errors every brand suffers (suppliers are the same for every car manufacturer). And about being well engineered, only car enthusiasts that read about it and dig into their mechanical engineering solutions like the reviewer here in this video.
@@stratfanstlthe brand might have a history of being unreliable but the Giulia and Stelvio are not any worse in terms of reliability vs. the competition. They've been around since 2016, plenty of data available that proofs this.
Great review Sarah, thanks!
I imagine you would be so happy going back and forth from shop to home. Sell what's necessary and get your butt in that beautiful fabulous machine. You deserve it as much dedication you have to your channel. What's the point if ya can't reward yourself, on the daily.
Is this your first perfect penguin score? I can see why. Between looks, engineering and performance, It's better than many other cars in the $90k range. Imagine what a tune would do! Outstanding review (one of your best ). In 5-6 years, this car is going to be financially obtainable. Hang onto your dream of owning one.
@@dangraff8467 I'm very happy to be in a world includes imagination and possibilities. It's what fueled SpaceX.
@@dangraff8467 in europe any tuner garage can tune that for a Price between 500 and 800$ on dyno 510 => 560 and 700Nm on stock engine and it's juste stage 1
with exhaust , custom downpipe and tune 600hp are easy but for more it's became expensive because you need to change turbo :/ stock internal can deal with 750
I work at an Alfa Romeo dealership. In 5-6 years you probably wouldn’t want to own one of these even if financially attainable lol
@@JohnSmith-in1tt I don’t let dealerships work on my cars even when I buy them new, so for a technician to own one of these it’s a non issue!🙂
@@JohnSmith-in1tt In the 80s & 90s I used to work on 60s, 70s, and 80s Alfas, and I remember them being similar to British cars, in that if you drove them daily, you spent the weekend working on them. Lots of retorquing to fend off oil leaks, cleaning or replacing spark plugs, etc. Are they still that way or did they improve?
Great review Sarah! I'd buy it if I could afford it too. Beautiful car and a perfect "10" reviewer, doesn't get any better.
Again! Here I go scrolling down my youtube homepage, and who turns up? Sarah-n-Tuned! Love those outfits you're wearing. 😍
Best in-depth review I've seen of this car. Kudos!
Want Sarah reviews on Taycan, more AMG, and some ///M and Audi RS models!
Tell Porsche, BMW and Audi, they don't send me any cars for review. Mercedes and Alfa seem to be the only exotic brands that do.
@@SarahnTuned making the calls now! 🎉
As a SAAB fan who understand why they failed, I really hope that 3D printing/rapid prototyping allow for more interesting vehicles like this to be created just to keep the spirit of automotive engineering alive. Cookie cutter cars have their purpose; a Corolla that gets 40mpg is amazing, but things like this existing and not bankrupting the parent company puts a smile on my face.
My 9-5 Aero Estate is available, just across town. 😊
@@randyallen2771 An estate aero? Omg the dream 🤩 would be awesome to hear her thoughts on it
I love that color of green .keep up the great work.
15:51 Beans score flawless transition! 👍
Great review Sarah, loved the colour but for that type of money I’ll save my pesos and bye
a Ferrari😬🍕🍕🍕🍻🍻🍻

Love your knowledge and passion you put into these reviews. But I also have to say how damn beautiful you are and that outfit is just outrageously stunning on you.
@cjsnylons - agreed on her Beauty.
15:35 best AWD analogy ever!!! That gave my heart the BEANS!!!
LOVING these reviews!!!
That's a beautiful vehicle and it sounds phenomenal! I really love the Alpha Romeo vehicles. I think that one could describe them as functional art. They are very good at what they do and they look gorgeous doing so.
You really love "Alphas"?

It pays to know how to work on the vehicle you own.

Another fine production by Lady Sarah!
Alot of beauty in your video. Keep up the great content. I could listen to ya all day.
I have a from new '21 Stelvio Ti Sport Q4 2.0. After 30+ years in Audi 'S' cars the Stelvio is by far the best I've driven. It's a driver's machine, not a 4 wheeled iPad. Alfa nailed these machines out of the gate. Excellent review btw.👍👍
The Ti is super underrated performance wise for the price!
Great review Sarah!
You really enjoyed yourself testing this car. Liked the matching finger nails ☺️
This truck is wild!!
Also you're looking great in this episode!
A while ago I said I was looking forward to this review. I'm not disappointed, this is a great review Sarah. That thing sounds epic. Thanks.
Great review. Fantastic car. Love Alfa Romeo.. it’s a shame they don’t sell well here.
I have never been an Alfa Romeo fan, but I do like this one. I think manual transmission wood be ideal. Great review Sarah!
Early models had manual but the automatic is very smooth, it's now standard. Besides, you have these amazing aluminium pedals right behind the wheel. Missing out on those would be a shame.
“THIS FGGN THING RRIPPS” Sounded like a whole load of fun!
Excellent review Sarah. Thank you for covering some of the interior too.
Oh Sarah....
🏁
Carbon fiber drive shaft (its resin matrix to be more accurate) doesn't like heat, hence all the insulation along the exhaust piping. Also, IMO, Alfa Romeo makes some of the most beautiful cars out there. 😊
..how else would something be constructed out of carbon fiber without a resin matrix? 😂 so no, what I said is plenty accurate. 👍🏻
@@SarahnTuned I ment only, that the resin component isn't heat resistant. The fibers, on the other hand, are. Nothing more. Sorry if you took that remark personally. 🤷♂
Fantastic review, particularly the technical aspects. Thank you
The whole minute before "Super Smart Design" talking about those water-to-air-charge-coolers is why your channel is so great.
Hey Sarah, absolutely gorgeous love the color and it is without a doubt one of the best sounding cars I’ve heard over RUclips so I can only imagine in real life. Agree the underneath was super impressive aside from all that my favorite thing is the stop start button on the wheel. If I was designing a car, that’s where I would put it.🐧🐧🐧👍
Hooker Heels 👠! Lmao 🤣 😂 😆
I love Alpha's green. Wish we had some more cars in gorgeous greens like this.
And “taking it out and servicing it” is something I would expect a car like this to need, just a little too often! It is as exotic as a Ferrari, and in fact it is, to a large degree, a Ferrari! Wow!
The sedan version is my dream car.
Beautiful cars, nice review Sarah 🚗
Love the reviews by Sarah!
Superb review! Stelviossimo! Love the color, love the look. Always beans engaged and baffles open. Pure joy and passion on wheels. Thank you Sarahissimo... l just couldn't resist!
Alfa Romeo Italian pride in the world! the Italian brand has always been a precursor of innovation.
Always a great review from Sarah
I decided to watch this on my TV with a sound system. The bass was huge and the exhaust sounds so amazing!!!
Jeez. Never heard of it, never seen one. Now... I totally want one! Awesome review of a stunning kinda game changer of a car.
Nice job Sarah. That has to be the best sounding v6 ever
This was my favorite review you have done so far!❤
Incredible job with those engine details and speculation s. Top notch Ms Sarah. Woo!

I love the way you say Alfa Romeo!!! Sounds so italian....
