    Great test on the Alfa, Sarah. I owned several Italian stallions in the 60-70's and back then they left all opposition in the dust, including the biggest. Apart from that they were the first onto the Australian market with 4 wheel discs and independent suspension. I had so much fun in my 20-30's until the kids came along. Then it was boring sedans with Child Safety seats. You are right with the car being great to drive...very addictive, especially the hills and curves. Thanks again for the memories. A lot of people have spoken about how amazing an Alfa is that too a Quadrifoglio version. Few have backed up Alfa's with reliability. I do understand that Japanese car manufacturers like Toyota and Honda are known for their amazing reliability. However, after driving my Alfa Romeo Stelfio for more than 15000 miles (which was already driven for 32,000 miles), I can easily say that there are absolutely zero reliability issues. I would testify the opinion that only petrolheads and actual Alfa owners know the true reliability of an Alfa Romeo. A lot of mechanics on youtube defame Fiat and their brands but Alfa is different. The sheer pleasure of driving an Alfa is out of this world. Not to mention, there are absolutely no cars in this segment that are as beautifully designed as this Italian beast. I can easily say that my Alfa can run another 100K miles without a hitch. Cheers to all the petrol-heads !

    It's an Alfa so I would always have doubts about reliability, but... That is a fabulous looking car, inside and out with a fantastic color. The traction and handling under what looked like pretty rainy conditions seemed amazing. Given how absurd all luxury car prices have become, the sticker on this doesn't seem that far out of wack from other vehicles with only 70% of the styling and performance. For those that can afford it, this could be a great "Red Barchetta" car -- something to buy and hold as a last relic of the ICE age as we hurtle towards a vastly different car world.

    • @miks564
      @miks564 Год назад +11

      Do you know why you have doubts about Alfa Romeo reliability? Because you probably belong the vast majority of people that actually never had one but know they're unreliable because everybody says so ...or because of a cousin of a neighbor knows so.
      It has been very beneficial to the German car industry to keep that unreliable image - not so for the Italian car industry though.
      As a car enthusiast I've always admired the Italian ICE engineering, they've lots of patents and technology that every other brand also uses - maybe the most common example, being the 'common rail' on each and every Diesel engine.
      I've owned and been driving Italian cars all my life. They're quite expensive to own because of depreciation when you want to trade them, but unreliable? It's kind of the opposite.

    • @stratfanstl
      @stratfanstl Год назад

      @miks564 It could stem from hearing jokes on Car Talk for decades about Fiat standing for "Fix It Again Tony" or anecdotes about Ferraris and Lamborghinis being extremely expensive to maintain and having inconsistent quality from hand manufacturing. I take your point, though.

      The Ti is super underrated performance wise for the price!

    Hey Sarah, absolutely gorgeous love the color and it is without a doubt one of the best sounding cars I’ve heard over RUclips so I can only imagine in real life. Agree the underneath was super impressive aside from all that my favorite thing is the stop start button on the wheel. If I was designing a car, that’s where I would put it.🐧🐧🐧👍

    I have never been an Alfa Romeo fan, but I do like this one. I think manual transmission wood be ideal. Great review Sarah!

      Early models had manual but the automatic is very smooth, it's now standard. Besides, you have these amazing aluminium pedals right behind the wheel. Missing out on those would be a shame.

    My brother has a Gulia Quadrifoglio, We tweaked the exhaust valves to stay open all the time. Cold starts are instant Cargasm. The Stelvio sounds better IMO. I could only imagine how the Stelvio would sound with the exhaust valves open on cold starts. (can't be done in stock form, will only open the valves after its warm and once the car is running and you switch it to sport mode.)

    Thank you for showing the engine in detail and the underside. No one does that!! I will no longer watch any other reviews, only yours. The view is not so bad either. Thanks for having nice nails. I love the details about the vehicle and its engine. Great video.

    Daily driving one is amazing. I got a 2020 with 26k miles for $50,000. It is not as refined of a ride as a mercedes but it puts a huge smile on my face.

    Finally a Alfa review! My favorite car maker bar none. I have owned several and always want another. But all my old Alfas were easy to work on. This G Quad would probably need factory trained techs to do major work, and i wouldn't trust any shop here in Tucson to do the work. Phoenix would be the closest at 2.5 hours away. But it looks to be built well. So the next one i find in the beautiful Misano blue might find it's way home to the east side! Love your channel.
