This is a canvas tool bag with leather tags and tether grommets. I installed a rope in the hem to make the bag opening more user friendly. It is made with 15 oz. cotton canvas.
I sew this bag predominately on a Juki 1508 unison feed Industrial Sewing Machine. amzn.to/2svzs0K
• I Make a Cool Canvas T... Here is where I mark lines on the handle halves. It takes two halves to make one handle.
• I Make a Cool Canvas T... This is how I iron the hem lines into the handle half prior to assembly.
• I Make a Cool Canvas T... Now just put two of the ironed handle halves together each hiding the raw edges of the other and sew them together.
Here is a cut list that you can download.

Loved this video!!! Wife wants an industrial machine, now I think there is a reason to get it for her.......keep up the great work.
My favorite sewing video on RUclips. Excellent.
My favorite comment. Thank you.
I really enjoy your tutorials. Also all the sewing machines you have. Looking forward to your next project. Have a good week
cool bag and I loved your video. No annoying music or talking just practical demo :) I've been sewing for a living for 45 yrs and I learnt several new ways of doing things.
Thanks. New ways of doing things huh? That is what happens when a carpenter gets a sewing machine. Ha Ha 😋 But seriously I appreciate your comments.
This was so cool to watch! I also love your overlock machine
This is mesmerizing to watch. I want to sew like you do!! Until I do, I at least can use some of your techniques in my own work. Wow!!
I am absolutely floored and speechless. This is BEAUTIFULLY made!!! The craftsmanship is impeccable!!!
Thank you, you are too kind.
Wow!!! I really enjoyed watching this video! You did a great job!

Agame el favor si esa es sizag
When I get my juki I’m gonna try this bag. I love it! I think I’ll make it for all of my mums knitting tools and wool.
Excellent, please share.
Thanks for this video. Just finished making one, though I only used ~10 oz cotton duck and a non-industrial machine (Pfaff 130). Still turned out great, the rope in the hem makes a big difference.
That is great, I love hearing that! I have made bags with 10 oz canvas too, it works great for that and lasts too. My backdrop is made from 10 oz canvas, its good. Glad you like the rope, it definitely steps it up a notch. Thanks
I made this for myself and my friends.... Everybody loves them. Thank you!
Me encanta. Muy practica y bonita a la vez.
I absolutely love how you just chuck your cut pieces right next to your machine, like you're saying there all done no sweat peanuts 😂. I'm seriously thinking about investing in a Juki myself.
Love the old serger used in the video.
That’s beautifully orchestrated, thank you
Wow! Wonderful to see it done
🙌
I especially adore and appreciate the crap out of this video! Thank you so very much! And this machine you using is officially my dream machine. The juki you did all the sewing on. Im in awe.
This is definitely a work horse of a machine. Machines come and go in my shop but this one stays, I love it.
Nice craftsmanship!
I have never seen anyone sew like you. You have many unique techniques. Very good bags and videos. 👍
That is probably because I am self taught. Taught with the help of RUclips. It is a great time to be alive.
Thank you for sharing this video it’s very nice and easy to make. The speedy fast fwd version is super.
Super Thanks!
thanks for your kindness and generousity in sharing the how to to make the bag. also a very entertaining bag making effort.
Your Welcome, Thank You.

I want to make one for my dad! He definitely need this kind of tool bag! Great video Sir Alexander! Very useful tutorial! Thumbs up!!
Thanks! 😀
Excellent project. love the clean design and the straightforward demonstration ... kudos!!
I appreciate that Dominic Del Principe.
I almost finished a bag like this today. Just have to prowl out in my garage and see if I have any rope. I had a painting drop cloth that I cut up for this. Thanks for posting this a couple of years ago.
Bravo
You have great instructions, i slowed it down and was able to get the instructions and sewed together 5 of those canvas tool bags, they are easy once you do the first one but you need a industrial sewing machine to sew it together, thanks for the nice video and it was a great project.
TRAVAIL DE PRO ! J'aime très bien ❤

Just a man with his sewing machines. Humbly... Thank you.
Great job. Love the bag.
I like the rope used for piping to strengthen the top ridge of your sack. I’ll have to do that next time.
It really adds a lot of constitution to the bag. Makes it stand open nicely.
You did those rounded corner seams so effortlessly/flawlessly haha :D
OUTSTANDING !
THANK YOU!
That is a really nice bag.
Wow!! Very nice bag!!

Thanks Dani, I should have a new bag video out soon.
Great, I'll look forward to it!
That was so awesome!
This is an amazing work man.
I just finished this bag. I used 2 or so yards of 36” wide duck with some left over. I added inside pockets using the method in the video with the larger bag with leather handles. It went together fairly easy. I did make one modification to both end panel pockets(at least from what I saw in the video) by moving the pockets panel up higher with just enough of the bottom seam allowance to be sewn under the end sacrifice panel . I did slightly off set the tops of the end pockets with side pockets. You end up with quite a few layers to go through during the final assembly! Regarding the cut list provided: I would cut the inside straps an extra 6 inches longer or so to be sure the doubled up section of the handles can be sewn to the bag. I ended up having shorten the outside handles a bit from the ends to get them to attach properly. It carries well enough with the handles a few inches shorter.
Awesome project. Great videos.
Simple and easy job
Really nice!
Jimmy Diresta with a sewing machine and a Seiko Shogun. Great video, loved it.
Wow, you have got an eye for watches, Nice! Oh and comparing my video to a Jimmy Diresta is probably the most generous compliment you could give me, not that I deserve it. 😌 Thank you.
beautiful camera angles! Very nice!
How nice of you to notice, Thank you.
Very nice craftsmanship and filming & editing skills, as well!

Thank you Jeannie Houghton.
Wow, lots of work!
really nice craftsmanship! I started doing leather work this year, but it is very expensive. Looking into canvas with leather like a Klein bag. You just broadened my horizon with this.
Awesome work!
What a nice thing to say. I like the Klein bucket bags too.
So good! Thanks for sharing!

Alexander Dyer I will let you know if I make one!
Such a great video and I hope I can follow after multiple times of learning and scrutinising (hope I use correct word). Thank you so much and hope to learn more. I am from Malaysia.
Also watch the video linked at the end, I think it will help. Good luck.
I want to ask how much a fat square (not solid) cost? Actually I am 62 yrs a pensioner and like quilting always learning from yr tutorials. ridzwan latiff is my son and I use his account. Last night I just finished my "Crossing Path" quilt and I' m so excited to sew more. Thank you for yr reply.
Wow, I love it🤗
💫
wonderful video! great stuff
Thanks!
Awesome!
Outstanding, Alexander! I need to find a source for that narrow presser foot set for my 1508!
Mine is made by Kwok Hing. Not sure who carries that.
Cery well done!
I like your style 👍🏻
☄️
Great vid, thank you!!
Great Sir. I have also started learning how to make bags. Searching for a good industrial sewing machine. Let's see and all the best for your work
Did you see this one? ruclips.net/video/sBavkfataiM/видео.html
Thanks Sir . Nice design .
Thanks for liking
Great video! I’m picking up a Jimmy Diresta vibe, and I mean that as a compliment. Subbed!
The guy is awesome. Thank you and glad to have you.
Good gosh, Alex, your machine, being that it's an industrial piece of machinery is phenomenal. For it to be able to get over the bulky areas as it does is awesome! I have a Husqvarna Viking and, although I've tried getting over some bulk areas when I sew, if I don't go slow, which I would normally do, sometimes the motor can't even handle it and it causes my needle to break. Nevertheless, this was a great showing of how you put this bag together and I loved especially the pockets technique. I'm going to try my hand at incorporating that particular feature into a tote bag made with 100% cotton. Thank you so much for sharing.
Yes the machine is cool. These industrial machine allow me to sew things in unorthodox ways. I enjoy that I can dream up something and then be able to do it, it's fun.
very nice bag... awesome..
Thank you for that. 🙂
Now I want to learn sawing!!
The Juki 1508...the favorite in my arsenal of machines...I have 2 1508s one for a back-up....nice bag...
The Juki 1508 is a great machine. I also have a 1541 which look very similar. I am planning on doing a video soon about the differences between the two. Stay tuned and thanks for your comments.
fantastic!!!
interesujące ! Podoba mi się :)
I am glad you like, Thank you for your comment. Come back anytime. 🙂
I subscribe. I'll be back here🙂
Amazing job, beautiful craftsmanship :)
Thank you for the nice words :)
Nice bag
Thanks
Great! I think I'll have to do this one too!
You should!
Awesome stuff man, love the bag also love your minimalist logo. Subbed :)
Thanks for all the kindness.
Huge help. I can’t seem to find a toolbag with the exact size and pockets I want, so decided I may build one. Now I just need to find a sewing machine that can handle this project and other outdoor gear like hammocks and backpacks.
Any suggestions? I’m looking at the singer 9960 as I hear it can go through leather
The machine I used is a Juki 1508. Here are some other videos to explain features to look for and a couple of machines that have those features. ruclips.net/video/avr3pN_udMA/видео.html ruclips.net/video/lbhWnIwu8rk/видео.html ruclips.net/video/ua5_zIYxNpE/видео.html ruclips.net/video/fcYDoa9Vay4/видео.html
This is so amazing

Wonderful
Loveeeee!!!
I am from Brasil!!
❤❤👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks. Welcome.
Hi Alexander, Great video thanks for posting it. I made a couple of the tool bags in military grade heavy duty canvas manufactured here in Australia. The tool bags turned out 10 inches wide by 16 inches long. The height was 12 inches reducing to 10.5 after I added the bolt rope at the top. I shortened the outside strap by 3 inches to allow for the bolt rope. Using a 5/8 inch seam allowance the tops of the pockets on the end lined up with the the pocket tops on the side. The end pockets in the video banner image are lower than the side pockets, I guess this was a prototype version of the bag.
I was pretty much forced to sew the bottom corners using a triple feed 2 inch cylinder arm machine to achieve good tight seams on the bottom corners of the bag. The rest of the bag was done easily on a flatbed triple feed machine, like your Juki 1508. Not sure how one would go making this bag on a plain drop feed machine with thick canvas. I agree that everyone should have a Juki 1508 triple feed.
Thanks Again Myles
That is a very informative comment. I gave it a thumbs up. Your project sounds great, you have made a great tool bag and who knows, you may have it for the rest of your life. Those bottom corners are definitely tricky. Again, I really appreciate you taking the time. Oh and prototype, yes, most of the things I make are. \HaHa/
hello what kind of material do you use? or what other material can be used? answer for a council please wait for your answer
Am I seeing this right? When closing the bag up you basted the 3 edges and then did a final seam all the way around the gussets? It is a cool bag! Thx!!!
Whouahhh BRAVO.
Ha ha, Thanks.
very nice
Great vid, I’m trying to tinker with the finished size & I have the cut list but can you tell me what you used for seam allowance & hem? Specifically the hem on the sacrifice panels. Thanks!
I typically use 1/4" seam allowances and 1/2" hems since those are easy numbers for me.
Awesome! Well done , Sir!
