- [JS4] 1960 F100 Ford Truck Restoration, Brake Removal & Cab Cleanout. This video shows removing the brakes so we can get the truck rolling in and out of the shop. New front tires were installed using the original rims. The rear tires and rims still need replacing and will be done at a later date.
We also cleaned out the cab and the glove compartment ... found some interesting items there.
Please let us know in the comments section of any suggestions and comments you have. Thanks!
The background music is:
"Symphony No. 5" by Ludwig van Beethoven
Restoring a 1960 F250 thanks for your video. Great detail. Wish I had taken more pictures, but we’re figuring it out. We did a frame up. We’re at the 5 year mark, maintaining the body skin patina and restoring the cab interior to its original appearance.
Enjoying the restoration . I was looking at the step-side also . If i ever have the chance , I will aquire the 1960 too .
Thanks for the kind words! Good luck in your 1960 search.
The floor is shot, LMC makes replacement panels for the driver and passenger floor sections and also have the rear section of the floor.
Thanks for the comment and appreciate you watching our videos.
Thanks for sharing your restoration. I have a 57 in similar condition. The task is daunting but videos like this remind me it can be done. Thanks!!
Thanks. We'll keep working on it. Learning a lot as we go!
Noticed you put new tires on the front, I would have blasted and painted the rims before you put the new tires on.
Thanks for the comment and appreciate you watching our videos.

Thank you for sharing your restoration project. Your place looks beautiful.
Thanks! Colorado is a great place to live.
@JOT’s Shop I agree, I am restoring mine in Colorado as well and it truly is great
how thick is the cement floor in your shop?
It's 6 inches thick. Thanks for the question and for watching!
Ive got the same problem with my rear springs
Are you going to completely replace or try to repair them?
@@JOTsShop My main leafs sag a little.I have a set from a 69 that have the right width. I might just swap out the leaves.
I might move my rear hangers back because the 69 springs are longer
I might use some other springs I have and replace the hangersand move the axle pads...
@@JOTsShop or i might buy new ones but they are about 600 for the pair through general spring
I have a selection of springs off different trucks ive saved. theyre all different
Thanks for the info ... let us know what you decide to do.
Do you know the original color of the truck? I noticed what is left of the seat cover is green
According to the vehicle identification tag, it was "Goldenrod Yellow" ... thanks again for watching our videos!
