Just watched your channel for the first time. I bought my first RC car and it happened to be a TRX4M. I have some injora upgrades on the way and I loved this video so much! You’re such a positive person and you just earned a subscriber! Keep it up!
Crap yeah, bro! Glad you’re here! The trx-4m is a great place to start. I’d have never guessed I’d love crawling as much as I do, or tiny ass cars, for that matter. Lol. It’s too fun bro. Send me pics/vids of your progress on insta or Joshua Darrel Ratliff on Facebook. Thanks for hanging out bro. Hope you have a great one.
On my orange Bronco I have 62mm tires with aluminum bead locks. Skid plate brass, 66 grams, brass high clearance links, cut down bumpers, rolled down the front windows, 'slow crawl' gear set, steel diff gears, front & back, brass front diff cover, the same 180, 87T motor, but by Holmes & brass pinion gear. Pretty much nothing stops this rig...
Plug the battery in and do it again. Lol. I don’t usually go in that much water. I’d recommend taking apart anything that could hold water. It definitely had more binding in the drivetrain with the bushings after the water. Swapped out for the bearings and haven’t put it back in the water again. Other than that, it’s plug and play, plus upgrades/mods along the way. Thanks for hanging out bro! Hope you have a great one.
K10 yes please and a 79 reg cab f150 for sure, at the same price as the replacement body now... both are MUST HAVE 😉 that should work for the chassis perfectly...
I'm waiting to be able to get one soon but with the hurricane we just had trying to clean up and fix everything that's needs fixed first but hopefully soon I will have one
Cool video. So, what are the specific brand and part# mods (tires, wheels, gearing, etc.) done to each model? Looking forward to getting mine tomorrow. Thank you for sharing.
Biggest thing is you need the low speed gearing. Bearings are a huge plus. Then you need weight. I made the Traxxas wheel weights work in the injora wheels and modified the rear center ring to fit the wide bead of the Traxxas tires.
Eh, it’s hard to say. If you prefer just cruising, the Traxxas is pretty cool but the fcx24 would probably be more fun with the two speed. The scx24 is a great platform for light weight performers. It’s hard to go wrong. Just realize, they all have pluses and minuses and you need to think about what kind of driving you’re drawn to and find cars that do that, then buy those. Eventually, you’ll prolly have a few of each. Lol. Thanks for hangin bro. Sorry for the late response. Hope you have a great one.
Yessir. Got one in the shop and the other needs a little work before we can go play again. It’s a lot cheaper when these ones break. Thanks for hanging bro. Hope you have a great day.
I’d love to find tires that fit the canyon trail bead (or a way to cut the bead and make it happen 😈)….. don’t feel like buying $40 of brass and $20 in wheels from traxxas to make their plastic beadlocks 2/3 the weight of my brass beadlocks…. Might just ditch the traxxas wheel/tire setup but man those MTs look awesome and the canyon trails are wicked on 10th scale especially after you trim some lugs out 🤪
I put some foams in last night. In the little testing I did, they were holding up. I’ll run them today and if everything works out, I’ll show what I did.
Did urs start making a loud clicking noise when installed low range transmission? Mine was so quiet and smooth w/trail gears I bought the complete motor and trans /low range gears and now it's loud and clicks I'm wondering if everyone's doing this or just something wrong with mine. I've actually asked others and I've had some say there's r quite and then some say there's clicks loud now too. Just crazy thought I'd ask u. Thanks
I got a cut up jeep creep body I tried on my defender and it’s beast without the body like u said loving it awesome rig without mods but I think this one is going to be more scale trail rig but take the bumpers off slap a lexan body on and it’s a comp rig
Yessir! If we’re being honest screw a body! Most of the guys running comp trucks on pin tires at 10th scale have no body to speak of. Plus most of the cheapo lean bodies end up lookin like a crappy toy 😁 once you’re done with the hard lines? Toss the body back on in a split second
Bro u know I like it wide I used some brass spacers about 3 maybe 4 mm wider the the reversed stamped bead locks on trail kings and it will side hill like no other it’s amazing some of the stuff u can pull off with it nice run I also pulled the rear springs moved them forward and down on the frame gets some pretty awesome flex 😎👍
@@sammyboswelldirtybrc7580 No wheel speed with crawler gears. Basically, crawl and crawl slower. Lol. Gonna need to go brushless, like you’re saying, or try and put the fcx24 two speed trans in this rig. If people support Traxxas on this platform, I’d bet they come out with a two speed eventually. For now, we gotta figure out how to make it work. Maybe I can design a chassis to use the fcx24 trans and Traxxas axles specifically? I’m working on drawing out what I’ve already done so I can move on and modify it for these other builds. I sure appreciate you Sammy! Thanks for being here bro. Hope you have a great day.
@@sammyboswelldirtybrc7580 what kinda brass spacers did you use? Not sure if you can send a link to something similar? I also like a bit of a wide truck 🤪😉

It's just fun right out of the box , and is going to be fun fixing it up and to see what the aftermarket comes up with
Definitely fun out of the box but I can’t wait to show off this evening. Thanks for hangin! Hope you have a great one.
Cool , I'm ready to mod up !
This trucks are pretty fun, I'm really happy with my Defender, great video man 👍

Trx4m, scx24, fms24? Which would you choose for a new to crawling person? I don’t want 10th scale I really I’m drawn to these 18 and 24 scale units.

cool rc's and awesome crawling
Great video. Enjoyed every minute of it. Do the stock tires bolt right on the injora wheels? If so I may have to order a set for trx4m bronco.
Not exactly. I need to run it after work and if it holds up, I’ll show what I had to do. Thanks for hanging out bro! Hope you have a great day.
Do do shit like this in a real jeep. It's a lot of run. That's what got me into these RC's.

I’ll show you what I did. Stay tuned. And these tires seem to do pretty good.

I think I am going to order 4100 bam for mine I see now crawler gear has no wheel speed so got to go slow a fast but for now loving on it stock
definitly not a rock crawler. but its a good thing im a trail guy. im getting one. maybe 2.
can you send me a servo mine blew up out of the box and the will not take it back
Lol. It’s a Traxxas. Sorry buddy.
