it's honestly wholesome that ster feels comfortable enough with jerma to openly show affection, jokingly or not. you can really tell he cares a lot about him. thats something about the old classic star_/1stjerma youtube videos that i always loved, you could really tell there was a strong bond between the two of them. nowadays though it seems like jerma is a little more... insecure or something. i dont know. it feels like theyve grown apart a bit and ster needs to dig a little to get into his shell. but the energy is still there

I agree that jerma's newer audience means jerma and ster have to be more careful with their humor but was ster's humor ever the edgy type? The old videos they used to make were more dumb and goofy than edgy. And ster makes similar jokes when he's on his own stream. I think the reason their style has changed has more to do with them growing apart after the "yearlong joke" and them being influenced by the modern internet which is more memey and less original than it was 10 years ago.
@@Zionswasd Yeah the internet now is less tolerant towards things deemed unacceptable, not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, some things shouldn't be tolerated, but that's how it is now. Nowadays Jerma does make sure he keeps a safe distance from sensitive topics but he didn't usually make jokes like that in the past so I don't think his sense of humor changed much because of that, it changed because he and his audience has been influenced by modern meme humor. Ster also was more weird than offensive in the past but he is more comfortable with controversial topics, although his humor has also been changed by meme culture. Also jerma still occasionally jokes about sensitive topics especially when he's reading chat messages. He doesn't say things like "woke" but he has made jokes about politicians, capitalism and even made a "hillary's emails" joke during the geoguesser stream with ster. Jerma avoids some things like furries and flirting because he's personally not comfortable joking about that in public not because of his audience, a lot of the new viewers love that stuff lol.
