King Diamond albums are complete stories. The songs are viniettes of the chain of events, so it pays to read the lyrics of the previous songs so that you follow the story. In this case the protagonist was like a mentally vulnerable person falsely accused of child molestation and institutionalized. Well, he escapes after more trauma at the asylum and comes looking for bloody vengence. The pure rage conveyed is impressive.
McKenzie is the mayor who framed King for deeds McKenzie did himself. Thus in cover up King got sent to insanity asylum. King escapes and takes revenges on all who framed him and locked him up. That's the general storyline of this album.
The Graveyard and House of God are King Diamond's two most underrated albums imo.
I agree, but include Puppet Master. King understands that the greatest horror is not what happens to you. It happens to those you love.

Cant you look up King Diamonds..."The Eye " album....has a bit of Malleus Malleficarum... fantasy and of course horror . I know that Sprenger and Kraemer , the writers ....had their own struggle with church. And was not welcome. But since that book ... actually made Satanism, to an " theology" ... adopted by a lot of bands today , ( demonology) ..it is of interest.

LOL... you guys are jumping to conclusions before you have all the facts. In doing so, you could be missing vital clues.
I hope you never get called for jury duty, Vin - you have too much bias and not enough understanding of all possible considerations. The fact you cannot comprehend how someone can "kill without intent" is ludicrous. It happens, whether you can "understand it" or not.
Have you never said something in anger that you did not mean? Have not ever thrown something intending only to huck it out of rage, but UNINTENTIONALLY shatter/destroy it? Perhaps you are disciplined enough to stop yourself BEFORE doing that... and why is that? Cos you KNOW if you let loose, it can go TOO FAR, beyond your intended control. Not everyone is as disciplined as you are ; they will give in to those knee-jerk urges and do extreme things WITHOUT INTENT, cos they temporarily lose control ("go insane") and go too far.
You say we all have the capacity and potential to commit murder but then decide that we can only do it with deliberate intent? That is untrue and a very very dangerous precedent to hold.
The insanity defense is a legit defense, but the problem is far too often, too many scumbags and their shyster lawyers abuse and exploit that defense, perverting it and using in ways they are not supposed to.
Anyway... as I said in a previous comment on the previous song : Reserve your judgment til you have all the facts of this story... there are still revelations to come.
