- REUPLOAD - ERNEST SCARED STUPID BAD MOVIE REVIEW | Bad Movies Rule Episode 78 - We review movies that have received low ratings from critics or audiences. If Ernest Scared Stupid is on our show it doesn't mean we think it's bad - in fact, while one of the hosts isn't an Ernest fan, most of us LOVE these movies. In some of our episodes, we're trying to bring attention to films that we hope are never forgotten. In other episodes, we are just having fun roasting films. We hope that you enjoy the ride with us. Jim Varney is a national treasure and I'm constantly sad that we won't get to see him work anymore. The good news is that Jim left behind an amazing catalog for us to enjoy. What did you think of Ernest Scared Stupid? Let us know in the comments!

I came here from a short because I love Ernest movies and was so very confused that the source video wasn’t available.
Glad you got it back up, and I’m looking forward to listening to a new podcast!
It was kind of crazy that it was our only episode out of 149 that wasn't on RUclips - glad you're jumping in.
May Ernest rest in peace man, I miss the man
Scared Stupid is a stone cold classic. I can watch it all year round
Dude, I remember finding this in an old box in my parent's basement and watched this until the tape gave out. This and 'Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island' were my absolutely favorites.
All of the Ernest films are unrepentant rippers.
PREACH
Indeed
Ernest movies know exactly what they are and never try to be anything else, awesome
Ernest Scared Stupid is one of my favorite movies of all time. Seeing this in my childhood was funny and scary at the same time. The humor in this movie was how I conquered my own fears. If Ernest can be that dumb in front of a monster then I don't have anything to worry about 😂
Such a great movie, really enjoyed listening to you all talk about it! My sisters hated this movie growing up because of how much I watched it on vhs (even my brothers in law like this movie but can't watch it with my sisters around)
-On the Elizabeth abduction scene, it looks like Elizabeth has a couple of windows in her room, which Trantor might have gotten through. We've seen him do minor teleportation (when Ernest rams him with his truck at the tree only to appear in branches seconds later) , so he might have gone through her window that way.
-Also, the duct scene where Kenny's friend in the native american costume scared me as a kid, we had one of those near my home and I avoided it like the plague.
Yes - it was legitimately terrifying to me as an 11 year old when I first watched it. When he uses the girls voice as he's chasing him - UGH
Definitely underrated!!!
Great upload. Thanks. Ernest Scared Stupid is a Halloween tradition for me and my neice.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This movie is in my top ten greatest of all time next to neverending story
This was my first "scarry " movie I went to in theaters. I was 8 so I was actually afraid of the darn troll. Trantor haunted my dreams for years. 😂
Honestly, same
Scarry, as in it, scarred you for life?😂😂😂
SHORT brought me here! The greatest thing ever
Thanks 😁👍
I remember watching this so many time as a kid with my siblings this movie and several others(dark crystal, the labyrinth, corpse bride, monster house, small soldier, the crow, The Nightmare Before Christmas, starship troopers,Indiana Jones, bridge to terabithia) made up my childhood.
Honestly, the only reason I watched these movies when I was younger was because my younger sisters wouldn’t let me watch small soldiers or the crow every single time; and our older siblings would have to stop us from fighting over the TV. then they would just put on the nightmare before Christmas or the labyrinth
“They missed slavery” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Jim was our three stooges
I'm very glad that you covered this movie. This was my passed brother's favorite movie. ❤
This movie connects me to my family too
Anything Jim Varney did I loved and yes like everybody else if I had the power I bring it back to life
I haven’t listened all the way though so I’m not sure if you guys talked about this but my favorite “Scared Stupid” fact is that some of the troll costumes are recycled from Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
We do bring up the fact that it's the same people that made the suits as Killer Klowns, which i thought was awesome!
Having never seen this movie before, and just trying to picture whats being described in my head, this just feels like a big budget Whos line is it anyway? episode. Ryan Stiles would be playing Ernest
What’s the intro song? Also y’all have a great show, and I love this movie too, the fact that y’all can simultaneously rip on it and adore it like you do shows that you truly believe the title of your podcast 💕
Thanks man! That was our old intro song before we switched to our current one. Appreciate the kind words - It’s okay to love these movies and still give them the business!
The first 20 seconds and i think i found my home 😢
Can we have John Cena make more Ernest movies?
Love this movie, my daughter's a big fan also. And all newcomers welcome this is a great podcast 👏 👍
**Air Horn**
I watch this so many times it was my childhood
Would love to see you all review ernest goes to camp it was the first movie to be released of ernest and i would love to hear the review
Came here because of a tik tok do not regret
Are the Ernest movies all the same Ernest, or is there an Ernest multiverse?
I think they are all the same universe, but none of the other exploits are ever mentioned
Even a single Ernest isn’t just one Ernest, but a multitude of personalities. I think the key to understanding the Univernest is to understand that Ernest himself has done so many things and been so many different characters that he probably has a hard time keeping it all straight himself.
That's an interesting question. Between films, Ernest often lives in different houses, has completely different jobs, and has different friends and love interests.
Algorithm comment
There isn’t an Ernest movie that isn’t awesome.
Honestly, regardless of skill, the girl smiling at the beginning is a nice touch. It creates the illusion that she knew she was leading the troll into the trap.
