      @@MeAndTheBoys_I lost 50 lbs in the last 6 months and there is another channel “Marks Epic Weight loss” who is currently on a mission to get lose weight due to chronically overweight. Somehow, there was his kitchen that reminded me of Chick corea who, coming from a seemingly disrespectful pov (not intentionally), I believe he was at some point and I remember your interview.
      So, what happens? I truly want to know. I’m 31, 167lbs at height of 5’-11” tall. Mark is 39 going on 40, giving meaning to “someone here is almost 40” from beneath the mask album and I can see the struggle.

      I'm digging this video too.... they almost lost me in the first bit there tho from the guy on the left trying to convince the guy with the studio that there is something wrong with using his tv as the monitor.. I get it. Sweetwater dont sell TVs but common the guy clearly loves his tv monitor (I love mine too) and not to mention saved a pile of money. They need to hire someone else to do the interviews rather than the guy trying to push sales.

    • @tonyrichter4094
      @tonyrichter4094 5 лет назад

      I love that the guy on the right doesnt just submit to the guy on the lefts attempts to turn him into a salesman about something hes passionate about... hes honest and clearly doing something he loves. The guy on the left is in the wrong business. He needs a new job. Find something you love my friend

    Followed the best that I could to see how much is in Mitch's home studio. I got the prices off of the Sweetwater website. This includes mics to monitor. I didn't include the Mac Mini, TV, or keyboards in the video. Also, I can imagine the tremendous cost for the room build out, the many guitars shown, cables, stomp boxes, and the abundant hardware that is in his studio.
    If I'm correct...that comes $73,316.00.

    Between this and the "Project Design..." video, Mitch and David provide 2½ hours of solid information. Really well done - and without being a blatant commercial for Sweetwater Sound. That said, I've been a Sweetwater customer for eight years and they've never failed to provide top notch service and advice. (Full disclosure: I have no affiliation with the company whatsoever!)
    I think Mitch encapsulates the most pertinent advice right at the end of this video. Namely, if you're just starting out, think about what you want to accomplish. Do your research (these days it's much easier), buy ONCE - try to get the best gear you can so you don't end up buying the same thing multiple times as you move up the food chain, and use your SW Sales Engineer as a resource.

    Hey, I've watched this video and the other one from two years ago... and ya know something? You guys never gave a 360 look around the room so we can see how your acoustic panels are laid out. Aside from the leaky room, Do you have any diffusers on the rear wall....or was there any need for it? once again.... I would love to get a once around view of the entire room.

    Mitch, you make great videos. I wish you would have a dedicated channel exclusively for IOS apps and making music using ipads and iphones alone or with computer interfacing. I am sure you have tons of action on a channel like that. I know you do an IOS Update every so often but that's not enough. You know you can record music using an IOS DAW plus there are apps that enable you to do crazy things. Check out the latest Audiobus 3, that added MIDI, and apps like AUM and apps that layer synths, one being Layr. Please check it out. You will want to make IOS videos. Thanks for all that you have done so far.

    I dont want to be too nitpicky here but isnt this vid about how to choose the right gear for your studio? This is mostly about why Mr. Mitch chose HIS gear. It does seem like a serious gear overkill for a personal home studio. I have learned some interesting stuff from this nonetheless.

    • @Silverjerk
      @Silverjerk 9 лет назад

      I think you inadvertently landed on the message. Mitch is showing you HIS choices, because that's what he chose for his workflow and his requirements; it's up to you to choose what YOU need for your studio. Only you can really answer that question. Keep in mind, this is a "Case Study," which basically means this is a study of the particular case, and thus is not intended to be an end-all-to-be-all guide for gearing your own home studio.

    • @brianpatrick6102
      @brianpatrick6102 9 лет назад +1

      Silverjerk Yes, I understand all that. My point was: the vids title is How to choose the right gear for YOUR studio. Why would I want to know why he chose his gear unless it applies to everyone watching? They should have made a vid going over things to consider when buying gear for your studio.

    • @illestofdemall13
      @illestofdemall13 8 лет назад

      +brian patrick No one can really tell you what gear you will need, but he is demonstrating a philosophy in this video. He is showing us how to choose gear by explaining how and why he chose his gear.
