I've been using a cordless leaf blower to do the initial drying of my customers vehicles. After that I use a drying towel to get the rest of the water off the vehicle.
Aerosol tire shine comes out really good but can be very expensive when your doing a lot of cars…the liquid in a spray bottle with an applicator putting on tire shine is a lot more cost friendly
I completely agree with what you were saying. My other method is using VRP with a tire applicator. But it just doesn’t give the results that I like to see. To be honest it’s just depends on the mood I’m in. Lol

Just doing a lot of details with it can add up after the end of the month rather then using liquid tire shine with an applicator which I buy in 5 gallon jugs. Did it 7 years full time and then another 3 PT but been cleaning cars for 18 years starting at 15 with my dad and grandpa…my grandpa at 91 years old can detail probaly better then most of these guys on RUclips believe it or not
Grea video danny . Advice you can use superior formula 4 spray wax after wash cars and that will save you from water spots and it will make it easier to dry car with blower

Best method in my opinion. Makes it easy and safe way not to contaminate. I use good Microfibre clothes though that are dedicate just for washing.. Great video
Definitely. Definitely. I usually only use the microfiber cloths if I forget my wash mitts. Or if I’m doing a rinseless on my car. I’m thinking of getting dark colored wash mitts for the lower parts of the car and rocker panels. so that I don’t Cross contaminate too.
yeah i stopped doing 2 bucket method a long time ago. multiple wash pads in a bucket is fine.. can even blow out some of them and ring them out with pressure washer... then re dunk. invest in a detailing rolling chair to do wheels and bottom of car. it's a gane changer.

Don't forget to include water from the tap! The weather is just not that hot here. So it gives me more time to move around the car. But I really like to keep the paint wet at all times.
An effective pre wash helps a ton. I’ve always used 1 bucket and had no problem. I just squeeze the wash pad before dunking again. I don’t use more than 1 wash media.
Great video! One thing I would change is either foaming up the car before you start your contact wash or keep mitts in bucket with soapy water - reason is I noticed as you kept them on the hood, they became less soapy and most of the panels looked too dry and lacked lubrication, so obviously this increased chances of micro scratches and marring. Give it a try
Thank you Anthony, and great points. I do need to foam down the car. I think about that all the time. And since I’m not using a pressure washer, I don’t really have a foam cannon. But I do have IK prayers. I will definitely give it a try.
@@dannys.auto.detailing_ you could also use one of those foam guns that you attach to a garden hose. Not as much foam as a pressure washer foam canon but still much better that nothing
I use a leaf blower quickly to get the bulk of the water off then towel dry. Then go around with the mini blower like you have and small towel to finish it off.
@@dannys.auto.detailing_ exactly, the pre blow is very quick like literally a minute, just quickly knock off the bulk so that like you say, the drying towel doesn’t get super saturated. Your goal is not to dry completely with the pre blow, just makes the towel dry easier.
Danny what I would recommend instead of using the 6 mitts, use 3 clean microfiber towels. It is much lighter to move around the car and you can get around the edges of vehicle much smoother. Either way great job man, keep it up!

I like also the MF towel method, but i have problems on dirty cars MF are stained easy with dirt and dont wash off easy for my. But maintenance clients yes a good towel ( dark colored) folded you have 8 sides to use......great option
Danny have you ever thought about using a microfiber wash mop with a handle. To save your back/lower back area, we get older lol and the constant bending takes a toll... I started using it because of my lower back problems..... I finish faster because I could clean the roof, the hood from either side of the car without walking around and bending so much. just curious
only use blower when applying a wax or coating not a maintenence wash. I Iditarod dry the vehicle with doors hood and trunk open. that's a great way to prevent drips after the drying. I also use a plasticshimmy wrapped around a microfiber to get in the side mirrors and creased . no issues saves me having to bust out the blower. but yeah if applying a coating. don't take chances and use it.
Hey Danny, have you tried Optimum No Rinse? Would highly recommend you give it a shot if you’re doing a 1 bucket anyways. Helps reduce water marks and very simple to use. I would recommend Yvan Lacroix for tips and tricks on it.

use meguires endurance tire gel. ..a little tops a long way and no over spray apply thin layer them buff off tires. it last a while and doesn't sling. since you already protect the paint. only use a wax as you dry spray wax to top off protection no need to do a whole extra step. Technicians Choice ceramic detail spray great cheap dilutable product. spray on after rinse then towel dry car .. boom. vwhicle protected again and you saved time.

There is a maxshine apron on the market, it is very thick high quality waterproof with useful pockets. I don't.know if you can afford it or you like it, but saved my clothes from ez detail brushes splashes dirt e.t.c specially when you have to go to next clients. Just check it on line. I have nothing to tell for the procedure i also use the multiple mitts method. Another quick but very safe method i use for maintenance is the 1 mitt method. I use one side of the mitt per panel and the rinse thoroughly with the hose to get rid the dirt, dunk in the bucket with soap and repeat. For the blower ,if the car is already protected i use a big leaf blower ( not funcy expensive detailing blowers...(worx leaf blower is a beast) it dries the cars is seconds ....may save you some time keep up
Last tip....IF can help you.... If you have close to you your vac, when you apply aerosol tire shine, you can have in the other hand very close the vaccum nozzle to suck the over spray at the second you apply it on the air ( i hope my English don't confuse you) Also time saver is the aftermarket Ridgit vac nozzle ( i dont know if has this name on Amazon.... is the one witch has an LED light and a button to light it) If you need any polishing tips in the future...hit me

I like to wear glasses when doing tires, mainly to avoid getting a mix of super clean and brake dust sling back right into your eyes. It's one thing getting it on your shirt or skin, but really got take precautions with your eyes.
I do not blow my personal vehicle. I drive it around the block then dry. It helps get all the water out plus it takes off that bit of rust on the rotors and I can get my wheels super clean and not get all dusty on the first few stops. But for you since it's mobile detailing you NEED to air blow because if I was the customer, I do not want to see water lines after using my car once and spending money on a detail. I use auto foam from bilt and hamber too. Be careful, its not ph neutral so i only use it for unprotected cars, or cars with clogged ceramic coating. The foam is not thick so i add ph neutral foam into the bottle too. I apply foam to soak - rinse and then apply again for contact wash.

Exterior: Baked bugs dirt, engine bay Interior : Really dirty plastic parts Harder stains on fabric,(don't use it for the ceiling cleaning, it may remove the glue). I would not use it on ceramic coated cars tho.
Is there a compelling reason to use the Gary Dean method on maintenance clients over using a Rinseless Wash? I suppose you could still use the Gary Dean method with a Rinseless Wash too but you know what I mean. Just curious.
To be honest, I am not confident with myself and using the restless wash method right now. I do it sometimes for my own car. But every time I do it on my own car I see that I put another small scratch. I’m just not that great at rotating or bending the towel so that the dirt doesn’t drag across the paint. I know it adds time on a maintenance customer. Maybe in the future of feel more confident about rinseless

Thanks so much. It’s a tough business but it’s rewarding. I think the most important thing to be is out there detailing somewhere. In the eye of the public. But also having a Google business profile and feeding it with pictures every day. Ask all your customers for reviews and if they don’t post ask you one more time. Only knows what works for me is Google business profile adding photos, and optimizing my website for SEO. But I’m dropping a video tomorrow on getting customers in the winter time. Maybe that will help you
It’s the one call Sonax spray and seal. Just spray it on the wet car and then spray it off and it leaves a really good quality coding with lots of hydrophobic properties. And then just drive the car as normal.
Try using just a Microfiber Towel ! You can flip it 8 sides and Is Way lighter than a wash mitt I use this method for my own detailing business and it works good for me Try it out.
I see you use the water from your clients homes. That’s really cool that they allow you to do so but I jst want to add something dor you to think about. If you continue to do this for a living, you should really invest in a water tank. Not only to make your job easier because of the no minerals. But you would be saving hundreds of gallons of water. A pressure washer uses 50 to 70% less water than a water hose. And in these crazy times with the water shortages and drought , it would really benefit you and the environment 🤙🏽
not sure how the water systems are connected in Cali, or how much runoff goes straight into the ocean since he's in SF (most detailing chemicals are toxic to aquatic life) BUT from my knowkedge NorCal / Bay area does not experience the same drought conditions as SoCal, and the cities generally have better water recycling facilities

For the issue of the barrel brush flinging dirty water on you, I suggest the woolly wormit brush. I use and love it! Does the same job with no fling!

3D products has a great pre soak concentrate, works great. If i am not going to use the machine on the paint i use leaf blower and dreadnaught towel

Great tips. I just put Maguires endurance tire gel on my wish list. And I have used the technicians choices pretty good I never thought of diluting it

In Europe we love Bilt hamber products, auto foam, surfex HD ,clay e.t.c but here are much much cheaper than USA ....still great although.

Great video man ! What spray wax are you using ?
It’s the one call Sonax spray and seal. Just spray it on the wet car and then spray it off and it leaves a really good quality coding with lots of hydrophobic properties. And then just drive the car as normal.

Try using just a Microfiber Towel ! You can flip it 8 sides and Is Way lighter than a wash mitt I use this method for my own detailing business and it works good for me Try it out.

I see you use the water from your clients homes. That’s really cool that they allow you to do so but I jst want to add something dor you to think about. If you continue to do this for a living, you should really invest in a water tank. Not only to make your job easier because of the no minerals. But you would be saving hundreds of gallons of water. A pressure washer uses 50 to 70% less water than a water hose. And in these crazy times with the water shortages and drought , it would really benefit you and the environment 🤙🏽

not sure how the water systems are connected in Cali, or how much runoff goes straight into the ocean since he's in SF (most detailing chemicals are toxic to aquatic life) BUT from my knowkedge NorCal / Bay area does not experience the same drought conditions as SoCal, and the cities generally have better water recycling facilities
Def a small electric pressure washer will be good. But get the water tank when you need it. There's ways around it. Keep grinding brother!
Why don't you use a foam Canon?
Let's just say I'm taking a break from it, and I am still getting good results. But I'll be back. Just experimenting with efficiency and speed.

There are no places that offer DI water in San Francisco or nearby. Not on this side of the bridge. Unfortunately
You need a roller for that bucket save yourself from any pain

This vehicle looks to be ceramic coated from the water behavior. So I suggest giving the auto foam a try on other uncoated, dirtier cars
