Took me 55 hours to finish main story and 33 hours to after that to complete the rest of the trophies, in total I played 88 hours to get the platinum trophy, and I enjoyed everything about it, that’s why I love this game

Or a pray materia , since u need to save your Mana until the end of the the chapter , your mp will be restored after u finish the chapter

That was seriously the hardest thing in this game... but it has to be done to get that champion belt. It's easier if you say the order of the buttons out loud so you don't lose track.
@@forestthomer3259 Good tip is to turn down both music and voices volume in the settings. All you’ll hear is the button prompts without the distracting music or voices blaring out. My average went from the twenties to the thirties by doing that. Finally beat him with 45 pull-ups by making those changes 5 minutes later.

Best Materia combo I found is Enemy Skill linked with max hp absorb have it equiped on weapon, then apply fire or blizzard for example with elemental on the weapon as well.. it will change all the spells on enemy skill to that element. Add another spell element of the same type with mp absorb now you drain mp and hp.. cast regen on and your a healing machine.
does it work? like mp drain just pair with the element?
You would need to pair enemy skill materia with mp absorb and then you can put a 🔥 or whatever element you like with elemental on the wpn to change enemy skills element type. You just wont be able to absorb hp since we have have 2 materia links at this time.
The higher the magic stat the better this materia combo is.
I'm amazed, how it's almost a physical rpg, versus it being pretty much automatic movement. I'm excited for this game, after so many years
I had to go through the first 9 chapters on hard mode to obtain some manuscripts and level up my weapons (thanks reprieve) before I could complete every challenge - also needed to finish corneo cup coliseum challengers in Ch 9 to unlock the last challenge. About 3 hours of tinkering with materia + 5 or 6 attempts, finally made it past bahamut. Been super fun to replay the story and complete the challenges so far: just a few trophies left!
I'm stuck on Bahamut as well, got completely stomped by him. Gonna play at least halfway through Hard mode before taking him on.

Not one beginners guide i've seen mention going back into old mission. thats a big tip that baffles me
There's a Save exploit spot in the Northeastern vault that if you save and reload while still in it you can farm Moogle Medals easily and get a ton of items as well.
kinda pointless though bc items are useless in hard mode and you get more than enough medals just playing through the game
Or just play the box challenge the kids have and do literally nothing, you get a medal just for participating
It's faster and you get multiple (4-5) Medals for around a minute run time with loading screens with a ton of good items to sell at least on the side.
When you go through hardmode or simply sweep thoroughly through each chapter you almost don't need any of the crap items for the medals, I didn't need to and let alone exploit to get more? nah.

Im still in my first play through, I'm a level 41 in chapter 16 with most of the materia mastered. I love this game, I only have to do chapter 8s quests and complete the game

lagoon 24 the two playthroughs took me around 60 hours then it was just a mop up i.e remaining dresses, an enemy skill, steal that bloody weapon and learn the skill
please dont use MP willy nilly in hard mode, use stuff like chakra and prayer to restore hp outside of bosses, save mp for boss fights because the rest chairs only heal hp NOT MP and makes it insanely difficult to keep your MP which mostly only restores at the end of a whole chapter

For the hard mode, it is possible to use "PRAY" materia, to save MP and heal all party members, this only works during battle, but it is possible when finishing the last enemy, if you use it on the last seconds it will be used even after battle finish ;)
You can do some VR Missions in Chapter 16, just go back into the simulator after you use it for the story
Pair the Gotterdammerung with refocus and it makes your life 10x easier, just got my platinum trophy!
The game itself is easier than getting the Gotterdammerung

How you pass the god damn pull up mini game

1. Turn music and voice off
2. Leave SFX sound on
3. Press the buttons super fast once the guide button disappear once you're past 10+ pull ups
4. If you haven't gotten more than 18+ push ups in the first round, don't bother and reset.
5. Jules will always consistently get 44 pull ups, sometime with luck he gets 41 and sometime he takes his steroid shake and gets to 50, so it's all luck.
6. Look at Tifa movement so you can time your buttons and go faster and faster after checking her movement.
7. Don't pay attention to Jules or his score when you're doing the pull ups
8. Aim to get 45 pull ups to win
9. Don't be afraid to push your buttons faster once the guide disappear, you won't get punished when it disappear and Tifas movement go faster. It's all about the rhythm.

You don’t have to finish the chapters for the dresses. You just have to see the dress on the screen and wait for it to count on your play log. Check options>system>play log and check to see if you got the dress. Once you get it, save and chapter select to wherever you need to go
I meant to trigger the choices to have other dresses appear, but this is a good tip!

there is also a Whack-a-Box hard mode if you go and attempt it in chapter 14. you get an accessory that fills your limit gauge when you use atb if i remember right, and a trophy

Another is taking the elevator or the stairs in Chapter 16. Taking the stairs is pretty amusing. Legit having to walk up 50+ stories.

I finish the game and went to repeat chapter 6 and 7 to get the chocobo and magic up matetia. after I got those I load back to chapter 17 to do some battle on shira Intel then I notice I didn't have the 2 materials I got on repeating chapter 6 and 7.
does this mean I have to repeat chapters 8 and on to carry those materias all the way to the end?

Love this game ... I want them to incorporate the Gambit system in this game some how with the materia ..synergy seemed to have so much potential

Anyone else get the stagger trophy bug? I know for sure a certain boss got staggered for well over 300% but I never got it. Do I really need to use fat chocobo for it? I've only reached 295% there.

Don't know why Square decided to make Red XIII a non-usable character. Was bummed out because of that. Still an amazing game tho. I enjoyed playing it once, Have to play it again on hard mode.
using the mana regen weapons are best than the supposedly 'ultimate' weapons... mythril sword, silver staff...

Oh there's another way to effectively yse raise to max it our you know the ghost in chapter 11 you can use raise on them and its an instant kill

Yo am i a speedrunner? I beat the story on normal mode after 36 hours. I missed 2 quests and my characters are lv 36 after thr credits. The ending felt a bit weird but the game was phenomenal!

Also reach lv 50 in corneos arena the first round and played the demo to the point when where I played this on normal and it felt all throughout the game like playing rookie on madden with all the ai bars maxed out with maxed out players on all positions

What I've heard is that Squeenix is jumping right into the next part, so no DLCs planned for this one. Pure hearsay though, we might be surprised.
The combat simulator and the whole mercenary thing left a lot of possibility. Could have even had side content in some of the unexplored sectors.
But it doesn't look like that'll happen.

A question about sidequest and skill points: if I run through the normal playthrough and get all the manuscripts from the sidequests, does running those same sidequests in hard mode get me those skill points again? What if I play through on normal again (for whatever reason), will I still get those? Does the same go for materia?

Nope, once you get a manuscript you can't get it again. Even if you were to replay it again on normal, the manuscripts you already got would still be yours. Also, it depends what materia. If there's a fire materia in chapter 3, you can replay it to get that same one, but if it's a special materia like the pedometer in chapter 14, it will be replaced by a regular materia if you replay it.

Does Trophy’s earn you anything in the game. What are their purpose. Until playing this FF Remake, I’ve barely logged 2 hours playing my PS in over 6 years. I’m at around lvl 36 or so and at EndGame with Sephiroth. But I’ve seen I’ve earned Trophy’s and no idea what they mean.
I mean i replayed Crisis core like 3 times, on my forth playthrough for the side quests n shit cuz them stars are ridiculous so im just leveling up slowly here n there

I'm really curious how Square is gonna handle the next installment as far what equipment/materia/levels will carry over from this game, if any...
I think they have pretty much painted themselves into a corner . By the end of the game your lv 50 , have nearly half of all summon materia , have access to and have maxed out a bunch of regular materia you wouldn't have had access to this early in the original game and have multiple weapons that are maxed out .
Unless they plan on reseting a lot of your progress you are simply to powerful for how early it is into the game .
As for materia? Hmmm... well, i could see Yuffie stealing all our materia in Kalm when we see her, then give it all back sometime later in the game.
For levels? That's a tough one... maybe we actually start at level 50, then have level 100 be the new max
They may limit break the level cap ahahaha!! (sorry) But with this I see no reason why the cap has to be 99, make it 200 or whatever. You can also rework materia, like how magnify sorta replaces all materia. I am cautiously optimistic.

After having some time to think about it, having us start part 2 at level 50 would make the most sense. Then 100 will be the new max level, and maybe 150 or 200 for part 3? As for weapons, I can see part 2 giving us all the ones you can get in part 1. Not sure if they would give us (all) the skill points to boost them though.
Materia wise though.... I can't really see Square letting us carry over all the materia we got in part 1, but still give us one of each maxed out lightning, fire, ice, wind, poison, cure, cleanse, and a few other more basic ones. Probably not the best materia types like magnify and elemental.

I'm kinda happy about that somewhat as it seems to hint that somehow the data will be able to be transferred to part 2 of the game when it releases compared to if max was 99/100 though I'm curious how they will do it since by then ps5 will be out or if they take WAY too long ps6 :P

A question for the mastering MP battle Intel. Are there 12 types of magic materia you need to master or can I just master more of the same one? Because I only have 11 types of magic.
You need to level all the green materia. Fire, wind, lightning, ice, binding, healing, poison, subversion, time, cleansing, barrier & revival.
You have to master once of each type.

What are you talking about? Making you play the entire game over again with only a difficulty change does not count as "a ton of endgame content" There are a couple new enemies, a new item and some more arbitrary record/script pickups. No new/side story, new areas, new weapons, and the few new enemies that are included are just sitting boringly in the dumb simulator. Enjoyed the game the first time around but the post game content was shit.

How can you get your weapons to level 6 when you've acquired everything in first playthrough?
You can't get to level 6 in your first play through. You have to start picking up the manuscripts in Hard Mode.
You can get enough manuscripts on normal to get up to level 6 weapons

I didn't feel much like playing Hard mode after beating Normal. The end game plus content didn't seem that appealing. Grinding to upgrade equipment didn't seem like much fun.

Yes. U can only get all the other manuscripts on hard mode (to max out all your weapon stats). I was also hesitant to play it on hard mode at first but i managed to somehow improve my gameplay. If u were able to assess all enemies on normal playthough just adjust your materia setting every start of a new chapter for example. Sewers chapter is mostly monsters so equip ice materia on weapon + elemental. Or chapters that is mostly humans - fire materia, lighting for all robots etc. You’ll be surprise how most boses are susceptible to an ailment.

Question: when starting a chapter on hard mode, can I switch to easy to blitz through the chapter and then switch to Hard again right before I face the boss of that chapter or do I have to stay in hard mode the entire time?
You can’t change the difficulty when playing hard mode, so no unfortunately

You get more manuscripts for doing quests and defeating bosses, and a gold trophy for finishing hard mode. That's it.
You get an extra scene with chadley if you do all the combat simular

My Final Fantasy 7 Remake Theory:
1.Aerith already knows what will happen in the future of Final Fantasy 7 but she keep it to herself.We can see it in the ending of Final Fantasy 7 Original that all of the events-beginning to ending of the game,she foresaw it all.So in the start of the Remake,we can see her interacting the mako with the same reaction like from the ending of the FF7 OG
2.The Remake is the PRESENT of Final Fantasy 7 instead of the OG.While the OG is their FUTURE.
3.Zack is not alive in fact what were seeing is a FLASHBACK of the PAST EVENTS.That's why Aerith said "I miss....the steel sky" which means he miss Zack so much cuz he's dead and Zack will never return.Also Aerith knows that he's already dead when she see the flashback.
4.When were walking to Sector 8,We see already that the Whisperers knows what Aerith foresaw.That's why they attacking Aerith when we see her because weakening her will flow the true path of events in Final Fantasy OG or the future of the Remake.
5.Aerith and Sephiroth is like playing a Tournament chess.They already know that's why they want to change the future judging by their recent actions towards the game.
6.Cloud is already seeing the future(Final Fantasy 7 Original.The first sign of this is when he's talking to Aerith.He saw something about Aerith(White Materia falling to the ground,to water and saw her praying to summon the holy)but still ignore it.Other sign is the falling meteor that will destroy the Planet.

@Fearful Tuna i haven't played the original either ,i intend to do so in this season. However, I've seen some stuff regarding material that was made after the game and its sequels and it is actually implied there the fact that Aerith loved Cloud. Not because of his similarity to her actual first love, but because of who he actually was, and she was a bit scared of it actually, which is probably why she tells Cloud not to fall in love with her in the Remake
