      I honestly believe, even though I'm sure he would disagree, that missing this chase was the best thing to happen to his career. He learned how to run these races. His playoff run in 2013 was good, 2014, did a great job managing the first couple rounds, until he got wrecked from the only car behind him. In what likely was the worst season JGR ever had. And we know the rest

      You said it. The simple possibility of collusion or revenge wrecks makes it ridiculous. While it had its disadvantages, the chase seems to have made the most sense, although it discriminates on any driver that might get streaky in the final 10 races. Clearly no system can resolve all the points, but the chase still seems best to me. I stopped watching when they started the playoffs. I find my interest restored lately, but I really dislike the "playoffs". Nobody is watching because it SOUNDS like the NFL or other sports that have actual playoffs. FFS.

    1. Spingate
    2. Stewart Winning at Dover x but Missing the next couple races
    3. Ragan winning
    4. How much would spingate cost guys like Truex Jr , Bowyer , and Logano. How much would it help guys like Gordon , Newman , and others.
    So many questions... and..all we can do...

    The changes I'd make to the current system is 10 or 12 drivers instead of 16 and take away the win and you're in. At least get rid of win and you're in. Just award bonus points instead for wins. You could do like if 10 drivers eliminate 2 each round or 12 eliminate 3 each round and have 3 drivers in the finale or 4 in the first round and 2 in the other 2 rounds. Keep win and you advance to the next round. Seed them and have the top 4 get a first round bye and call the last 2 spots wild cards.

    These videos really do paint a picture of how stupid the Playoffs really are. You race for 9 months and 35 races but the champion is whoever finishes best in the last. Not genuine.

    For integrity reasons I would probably take Talladega out of the playoffs. Daytona stays on 4th of July and Talladega is the cut off before the playoffs instead.

    • @seannolan9857
      @seannolan9857 4 года назад

      I'd give Dega its old July date back, minimizing the points impact. Cutoff race at Talladega? That's horrifying. Granted, 110 degree heat wasn't fun either. Does it really need two races?
