- I had to edit this video TWICE because of video editor technical difficulties, you know. But hey! It's finally here, and I had a blast (mostly) recording it and putting it all together. If you've had consoles, computers or other electronics around for a long time and you've never opened them up to give them a good clean (especially when they're still working), I think you absolutely should.

Recently done mine, 2004b series. The cable is not under the blue ray drive, but I have re thermal pasted my friends who has (same model as yours) the ribbon underneath the br drive is a night mare haha.
I got good quality thermal pads along with paste. The thermal pads on ps3 are 1.5mm but 2mm are fine to use. Love adjusting the fan settings in webman to make it run real well. I upgraded mine to 500gb to. Refurbed the controllers, if you get PS3 controllers that self touch buttons it's an easy fix. The rubber part inside you just stack electrical or duct tape on it to heighten it. Ps3s are the best haha
😂 Yeah I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who's ever thought that that ribbon cable under the drive is a design flaw. What a pain. I love the PS3 too, even if doing all of this didn't work out for me. I'm gonna get another again sometime.
@manofmanyvideos dude looks out for a power supply unit replacement. You can pick them up cheap on online.

@@manofmanyvideos I'm aus and there are tuns selling on eBay and Ali express cheap for like $30. You can evilnat cfw your console to it's the last model that can do it, makes the PS3 a million times better

unfortunately, your problem is caused by something went bad on the motherboard of your system or bad psu and will probably be the second I think that you should replace even if it cost the same as another system because yours isn't used that much. man you really should play some ps3 games it's a great console
😂 I don't know where you got the idea that I didn't use mine much, I used it consistently for ten years. Much more than any of my other systems during that time.
Hopefully u did not throw it up I saw a video where this guy fixed his ps3 silm by first plugging it in turn it on but it turns back off u just then remove the power cable and quickly start holding down the power button for 30 seconds and it should be working if not there might be another way… tell me if this works :)

Im thinking about getting a ps3 should i buy the slim one or super slim? Super slim looks better to me as physical
This one in the video is the only PS3 I've ever owned. I've heard pros and cons for it and the Super Slim over the years, so honestly, just go for what you like best.

😄 It wasn't my choice, way back then - this system was a gift from a relative of mine! It's the only PS3 I've ever had.
The Super Slim didn't even exist yet at the time, but I've always thought that it looked pretty neat. And I've always heard that the Slim is generally more reliable. But I wouldn't know from personal experience, maybe I'll go for one in the future.
PS3 slim is a better console I have three and work perfect still. I also have a super slime and that is bricked it has the wifi chip messed up and have to weld a new one on there in order to fix it. As well I deep cleaned the ps3 super slim and it is awful the plastics to take off on top are flimsy and the side piece too just trash don’t get me started with the top plastic cover for the cd drive
😂 I believe it. I've always heard that the Super Slim is generally less reliable than the Slim. And then we don't need to state the obvious about the original fat PS3.
