Great video. We’ ve visited Venice once in summer and once Venice and Burano during the winter. In winter it’s a lovely scenario and less crowed. Unfortunately the high air pollution level in north Italy in winter surprised me, I hope that the cruise ships keep far away from Venice and Veneto gets the air pollution under control.

Great video! Yes, I have been to Venice and have made walking tour videos of Venice showcasing its true beauty beyond the famous postcard spots like St. Mark's Square, Rialto Bridge, and Burano Island, which are definitely not to be missed on a trip to Venice.

In reality, Venice is beautiful. It is over full with tourists, specially in the summer, so avoid the busy season.

Why didn’t you mention the glass blowers in Murano? 😱
Also, the very famous Russian-American composer Igor Stravinsky is buried there…

I was so stupid, I went to Italy without knowing anything much about it and I was in Venice and I just enjoyed sleeping under the sun instead of visiting St. Mark Square

😀 Don't worry - maybe next time! Sleeping under the sun sounds great as well.

When I return to Venice I will limit my visit to church interiors and small museums. No point in seeing St. Mark's Square after 7:30 a.m. I will pass on the Rialto (big deal!)

I went last year and concluded 2 things: 1st, the city is worn out, 2nd, Venetian people’s nerves are ruined of tourists. Simply, they are short-tempered, though Venice stays nice

The city has lost most of its inhabitants because of short term rents for tourists, overtourism has destroyed the social network that existed in the past centuries. Venice is no more but a amusement park for tourists...

@@lores996 Of course there are some very touristic areas, but the community is very strong here and not sleeping on the Island but literally 10 minutes away with the tram doesn't mean the city is "dead" or just an amusement park. And most importantly Venice is an huge cultural centre, people from all Italy go there to study in one of the most important Italian universities (Ca' Foscari University) or to study in the "Accademia delle Belle Arti", extremely important Art Academy. Venice is much more than tourism

Central Venice perhaps, but if you stray off the beaten path you'll see a more authentic Venice. At least that's my experience

Isn't that just a copycat manufactured city? Kind of defeats the purpose.
