@@mr.edelweiss I think you misunderstand the degree to how true it is. Even for cases where the game hasn't launched in full live service functionality, and only just a CBT form, they are prone to falling into controversies. CBT1 regional lock and CBT2 content lock was just examples of that. There's also issues of PGR early access content being lambasted on bili because of really bad optimization (back in 2019 ofc) On top of this, every single game they released (as well as including the Global server for PGR, which Kuro self published, unlike the previous KR and JP servers), had a launch controversy. Even twintail battlefields :icant: (context - generally very poor server support and inadequate customer response at launch). Kurogames just has this curse of having disastrous launches, but somehow always surviving through and really improving from it -aside from the twintails... that died due to chinese exclusivity-
@@Istreakilaz oh...I didn't know also that last part is quite hilarious since Kuro took 2 games to experience just to know how bad region exclusivity is.
Atleast im glad they learnt, yep! with WuWa not bothering with that anymore (though a few hours of discrepancy still exists between the servers), and them still making an effort to have every PGR server slowly catch up to CN is a big lookup for them. (Of course, this has *some* negative affect on especially the Global PGR players, as the farther the server is, the bigger dead days are being cut from the schedule, and Global is still almost a year behind)
Semi long-term PGR player here. Good review. You did a great job describing how the combat works (something I struggle to do), and going through each of the major modes is impressive after only two months. A few corrections though. 7:55 Normal humans can't be corrupted by the punishing virus, they just get killed by it. Only mechanical stuff is corrupted. 8:05 Again, Normal humans can't be ascendants. Only humans who have been converted into constructs have the possibility to become ascendants. 8:13 At the start of the game there are no large scale settlements on earth. Pretty much everyone not on Babylonia live in small scavenger camps. 8:16 Constructs are made by (painfully) transferring the human mind digitally into what is essentially a robot resistant to the punishing virus. There is no genetic engineering involved, although only some humans are capable of surviving the operation. 11:45 Constant character switching adds a ton to your damage. Not only thought getting more orbs when switching to a new character, but also taking advantage of all the team synergy in a fully built team. 13:24 Currently a Un character gets a debuff for every omn in the party. Not giving a debuff to the party as a whole. I can't blame you for these mistakes though as I'm the only player in my clan who cares about the story so much. Also as others have commented you really should have mentioned how incredible some of the music is. Anyone feel free to correct me if I was wrong anywhere. Again, overall a really good review. You clearly put a lot of work into the video, and I'm really impressed how much progress you made in less than two months.
All 5 star weapons can be acquired for free through co-op but it will take a while. Only ever use 4 star weapons if you have no other weapon available.
if i'm not mistaken for 8:16 constructs aren't naturally resistant to the virus, but their inver device is what allows them to be resistant only if connected to a commandant's mind beacon. without inver devices, they are just as susceptible to being corrupted like any machine unless if they are a transcendant, or a specialised frame. that is one of the reason most squads needs a commandant to connect to their inver device.
@@no0name493 The do have some resistance to the Punishing Virus just very limited. A Commandant helps filter it and deal with it longer as long as it's not highly concentrated. Specialized frames can deal with it better, longer and somewhat higher concentration.
PGR player here, review ain't bad even if, as usual when you know the game talked about, you hear some things that are misconceptions or partly true here and there but, hey that's a review after one or two months of playing meant to reflect this experience. But not even touching a word about the music in PGR is criminal.
The music is the one element of PGR I'll praise without reservation, and thankfully I can listen to it without having to play the game. Shout out to Star Rail niche character build youtuber @LisaraScarlet for turning me onto it.
TRUE I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT IT MYSELF! HOW DID HE MISS THE MUSIC!!! I guess it's not that important compared to gameplay and the gacha system and all that stuff but it's one of the strong points about PGR so it should definitely get mentioned.
@@SapphireYuna music takes up to 30% of the gaming experience and can even be better than the mainstream media's music. Hell, DMC V wouldn't be as memorable if it wasn't for their music on top of the already good gameplay, and we wouldn't have the soundtrack "Overburning" as a collaboration between PGR and Keiki Kobayashi if Ace Combat was just a regular aerial combat simulator.
Day 1 PGR Player here! Another crazy thing that happened was an event where you could roll a match-three machine to get an exclusive Karenina Ember skin (the nurse one) but to actually complete the event in time you had to spend some black cards iirc. That also send people into a frenzy and there was more review bombing too. Wild times haha
It's gone now, but yes. two patches ago, they brought back the gachapon machine and karen skin was on it. But ofc you can complete the track entirely f2p this time. This will continue a thing into future CN patches as well (speaking from experience)
My favorite gacha game. My main problem with it is the starting chapters of the story, they are so bad or mid that it makes people think the story of the whole game is not good. It is. However, only after chapter 9/10 it begins to get interesting, and chapter 17 changes everything. I personally play gacha games that have a dark/scifi story with sprinkles of cosmic horror and PGR hits the nail on that. Path to Nowhere and Arknights are my other favorites.
it might be surprising, but early chapters hook me to keep playing. I want to know what happened on the world where the punishing virus exists. though, ofc those 8 chapters are still mid compared to the newer ones.
@@BrianCarreraShaw it's, like, the main reason the first patch was a success, so much that narwhal has million of views and became almost an anthem; along with other ones that have other milions of views. they are so good because not only are legit bangers, but because they sum and assimilate that patch's story, emotions, deepness, etc.. fully. just take a listen to the most popular songs in vanguard sound channel, even without much context you can understand what is happening. there are a lot of youtubers reacting to these songs and guessing the themes, and they are correct the 99% of the times, because they are well written and well composed
Surviving Lucem, the true beginning of peak, then it climaxes again with both Everglowing Justice and Cradle Parade, and then once more with recent CN chapters like Shaper’s Ripples. Honestly the game’s story has evolved quite a bit from being simple generic content to a masterclass of an emotional rollercoaster that has nearly no equal contender besides stuff like Umineko and Higurashi. If it weren’t for all the typos (lovingly) and weird grammar, you could make a serious argument that PGR could feasibly win narrative awards from traditional publications if it were a novel series instead.
@@iflgames3245 Huh its definitely unique and compelling for me, quite a long read, but actually more than everything the game has to offer, i enjoy the story in each update the most. It started like a Nier automata clone, but it has a vast amount of worldbuilding that sets it apart from the other "an evil mindless alien/monster/robot-zombie attacks humanity and characters has to defend it". The enemies has their motivations and are actually cool, conflicting and not just mindlessly evil. All characters has its development at some point, if you read it all chapters in global (I hope you did and not just make that statement lightly) the story really makes you to care about each one. The struggles are real (chap 17☠ and others), it has high thrill and emotional parts. The main characters is the absolute chad despite being human and even is too perfect for a character, is way more interesting and influencing than most other MC. So im just curious if someone DID read it and didnt found it "unique and compelling". The only problem is that since theres no voice, almost nonexistent animations, and detailed and long parts (combined with some particular ost it makes me drowsy sometimes actually), the storytelling makes the story look uninteresting for some people. But the story itself is my favorite ever, the only other contesters in Gacha for me would be Limbus company, HI3 part 1 and Arknights.
For the weapon banner part, the weapons stay in the banner even after the patch ends so you can come back to them later on which makes it easier to skip a 6* weapon and just focus on investing on a character instead, A rank patches are also called Saving Patches in the community because A rank debuts are free in the corresponding material shop of the patch so you can't miss them not unless you don't play the game though after Black Rock Shooter patch next month we will get 2 6* patches back to back so get ready for that and save up your black cards, it's also advisable to focus on one team at a time so you won't trouble yourself with pulling for a weapon every patch, pull on a character you'll need in the future and then skip their weapon, pull on the character you need on team you currently need AND pull on their weapon. On october and november we're getting a fire tank and an ice dps. For example: I'm pulling on the meta fire tank and then skipping the signature weapon for now, next patch I'm going to pull on the meta ice dps for the ice team and since the ice team is the team that I'm closer to completing, I'm pulling for the signature weapon to complete it, then after fully building the team you can focus on another team. Note: this only works if you play EVERY SINGLE DAY of the week and dont miss any events since that's where you get all of the Black Cards and Premium R&D Cards. Edit: i forgot to say that Gacha Skins also change the Skill Effects and the Sound Effects of that character
For the 2 S ranks back to back is not that much of a problem as you can save the guaranteed S rank standard banner added in the current patch for one of them if you didn't use it already.
Doing a single multi on weapon banner is never a bad thing tbh, you get drowned in 5* weapons, and you accumulate pity for the 6* weapon that you might really want.
@@keeichidarow nope it's a problem for me which missed 1 s rank patch which is No 21, i got her from the banner on this patch so i got her and most people recommended that too since using Lux is too outdated
Kuro try but they always end up falling into this trap, PGR was far more f2p player compared to Wuwa, at least lowbie weapons still pretty good even orange one, Wuwa forces you pull on banners all 4 star weapons are trash in wuwa
Thing I like about PGR as a spender: If I spend money I am 100% getting the character I want, no 50/50. There’s is a legitimate return on investment. No other gachas I’ve played respect your money like that.
@@artOVtrollingwdym lack of success lol If a game is thriving for 4.5 years and is still going strong, that means it succeeded Don't be fooled on inaccurate revenue charts that can be tampered Only the company knows the true profit/loss
"Though lets be honest, youre not gonna do that" The biggest misunderstanding of the pgr f2p community is assuming they dont roll for costumes. Right next to assuming they dont use the weapon banner.
Arknights it's already really popular. The objective of this types of reviews is to get not so popular games out there. I think he said this in his Path to Nowhere review.
For sure this is the best gacha from a gameplay perspective. The combat is so intense and the soundtrack makes it even better. This game OST in on the god tier
@@luizribeiro2716 yes, with a grind that makes one mad. even as a beginner player you get shit. you have to play quite long to even be able to pull from basic banner (without spending bc)
A bit late for the comment section, but as a hardcore story enjoyer i need to add a few details! - Every single gacha skin that can be paid with both BC and RC has an associated story and unique animations, and *every single one of these special stories is canon.* In fact, all four available in Global until now(for Lucia, Liv,Bianca and Karenina) add important details to the character that couldn't be fully explored in the main story arcs, so they are quite important if you want to know them better. - Also on the gacha skins topic, there are two tiers of those. One is the 10k BC tier(Currently available for Lucia Plume, Liv Empyrea and Karenina Scire in Global, with Vera Garnet arriving in December) which have different animations and all of that stuff. But there are more expensive ones, costing 17.5k BC or 500RC, and there are only three of those right now(Bianca Stigmata in Global, Lamia and Alpha Crimson Weave arriving later). Those have new lobby backgrounds, unique theme songs, unique animations for battle start/finish, and unique lobby lines. They're basically a love letter to the character and are very detailed. - Regarding story, PGR release structure of only one new unit per patch is reflected on the story as well. Since each new chapter is focused on the recently released unit, the narrative tends to focus heavily on character arcs, having the broader events as more of a "background" for the most part. The world building isn't as fleshed out as, say, Arknights or a Type Moon game, but it does shine when it's needed. - At first, you need your own units to progress through story, but starting from Chapter 13: Fake Ascension, the game gives you trial units so you can enjoy story without needing to worry about this side of things. - There are a few posts in Reddit and in the official Discord server regarding reading order if anyone's interested! Cannot add the links here since RUclips is quite annoying when it comes to external link input in the comment section. - Lastly, thanks for covering this game!
If there's anyone I know that can give a fair review with no biases whatsoever. It's definitely this guy. This is a much needed review and exposure for PGR that's for sure.
Correction, Construct aren't genetically modified human, they are more akin to Nikke just with their consciousness digitised instead of brain put into an android body
In reality it's even more extreme than that, the NIKKE still have their brains, the constructs don't, they are almost more similar to the Android of Nier Automata. we can see this with Lucia and Alpha who are the same person.
Thanks for reviewing pgr. I am sure it might have been lot to take in but it is a fun ride and a good game for specific people that are looking for this type of game in gacha genre. ( That is a game with lots of challanging content multiple gamemode, and good story after slow start and very f2p freindly if played right) The Game does lots of good things (ofc might have some flaws but nothing is perfect ) and also hope to see it improving and what it will offer in future later down the line. ❤
It's worth mentioning that with monthly pass you can pretty much gurantee 6 star weapon for every new s rank + more (unless you lose 80/20 which statistically speaking shouldn't be often) the value of monthly pass is honestly insane in this game
@@As-tray Definitely happens occasionally, during the Alpha CW banner I got very unlucky. But I've played the game for 2 years now and I've lost the weapon banner a total of 5 times. As the pity is 30, it oftentimes comes early which helps balancing it out a lot. The fact you can just come back to it and pull at any time when you're up on BC helps a lot too. The uphill initial start to get 5* weapons was more painful imo.. I wish they'd revamp the early chapter rewards to give you the exchange chips for 5* weapons cause the co-op being time locked is annoying and uses so much serum.
@@Gon-v2y Most of the generous gacha games on par with pgr (example: Limbus) I can think of are non-action which cost much less to produce a character. So, I think pgr truly is the most generous in the genre unless you can give me better examples.
The best thing about PGR to me is that powercreep is really only about leaderboards, the currency/mats changes as you go up the ranks aren't that game breaking. You can still git gud, get curb stomped by bosses, and enjoy all the modes as a F2P. Plus, my god are the half-ani and ani events in this game amazing.
I personally think that the fade in/out transition for chapter titles (ex.: "story", "gameplay", "progression") is a much better transition animation for those text
I do want to make a few points from a F2P perspective over a few months AND I will preface this by saying I know a few of these aspects were alleviated in future CN patches. While I agree with most of the review, I will point out that it can get very hard to catch up as a newbie. Powercreep takes a long time to set in but it's very strong once it happens, making many of the older units in the same archetype obsolete, with most of the A-ranks being cope options. You CAN get every new unit as F2P but outside of rare selectors it's extremely hard to make teams even using older SSRs since you don't really have a way to get them, meaning you have to play the game for many many months before you can get some decent teams formed out of new characters. The dupe system also deserves a mention because many characters have either major stat boosts (and in some cases QoL or mechanics for their rotation) locked behind them, and getting any dupes as F2P is practically impossible. You can get a limited amount of SSRs to SS rank using Pain Cage skulls, and that's where the more important stat boosts and mechanics are hidden behind but since those are tied to the leaderboard score you will only ever get the lowest amount which means you need to be very selective with them. One other thing with 6* weapons is also that they lock some mechanics or QoL behind them as well for some characters and aren't just a stat boost. Worth keeping in mind. Obviously you don't need any of that to get your weekly rewards for participation, but since almost all the endgame content is leaderboard based, you can expect to only see the bottom of it for a very, very long time, especially if you missed any of the meta characters since your account will be gimped for those teams for a year or longer until you get a chance to score one of them or their replacement.
all s ranks can get ss from pain cage not a "limited" amount. also all limited characters get added to standard banner 2 patches after they released . also currently with the s rank selector viua standard then you can get 1 character of whoever you choose up to whatever the most recent limited character is. also as of now some old characters like rosetta and vera are still meta and will still be meta for a few more patches for rosetta and almost a year for vera.
the thing about that is, the leaderboards dont really give a lot. you can still ss every new unit with middling ppc scores, and warzone doesnt give anything but character upgrade currency. as long as you dont care about being on the top, you’ll be fine
@@MrBentalton777 It is limited in the sense that you don't have infinite time to farm them between S-rank releases and you only get a certain amount per week. If you try to SS rank everyone through those you're simply not going to be able to, especially with lower leaderboard income. As for the other point, I did mention the occasional selectors given out, which can let you get a few of those better old characters (Rosetta was pretty much the only good physical character I had throughout my entire playtime) but with so many elemental teams, it can take many months before enough new characters or selector characters can fill the roster. If you're fine with playing with weak teams for many months that's fine, but it's a very very very long road before you get there.
It's true that it's hard to catch up, but it's mostly true to WZ and PPC. In any other mode it's much more forgiving. I played as f2p for a long time until recently and PGR gives more and more currency every 6 months, ~15-17k cards on S rank patches, and 10-12k cards on A rank patches. So eventually you will catch up and will roll for 2 copies a patch
imma throw these in here after playing for nearly 2 years and managing to catch up with the meta, even tho most of my S Ranks are SS0 and rocking 5★ weapons... 13:59 - previous units are still use, like Chrome - Glory, but older units have major flaws where part of their kits is locked behind owning the weapon, meanwhile some units like 21 - Feral Scent have their signature built in a way to give the units a secondary purpose, where she goes from pure support to sub DPS, yes she can sub DPS without it, but the weapon makes it easier and less infuriating... 19:34 - from Dorm, only the Expeditions are worth doing so you can get the free S Rank via the shards, even tho players that can afford it first gacha for said unit and then use those shards to get the unit to SS3, all other units that can not be farmed through "Recitativo di Fantasia" or "Dorm Expeditions" can be farmed till SS0, unless they are given on selectors so you can SS3 them 20:04 - the Resonance can be change at any time but it will cost you 1/many memories of that specific set(you can use Slot 1 memory to Resonate Slot 5 Memory for example) or 1 USB as shown in the video, speaking of the USB, it can be used on the memory even if it has no Resonance because the item is a Resonance Selector, it acts as a Memory with power of choice... 21:17 - joining today is indeed rough, best times to join are 2 patches before major events, like how during Balter(Bianca - Stigmata, we call her Balter cuz she looks like Saber Alter from FGO) when playing that patch with savings from 2 patches ago, you could make an entire Physical Team (the Login S Rank Selector that provides Liv - Luminance), the "Guide" Selectors (that provides Rosetta - Rigor & her 6★ Weapon) and of course Balter... you do have to ask around veterans or do research to know when/what would be the next time to start... but since the current patch(Cradle Parade), any time to join is good, but my advice for anyone wanting to join is to start now, play the super long game and save up all your pulls and get the following: Qu - Shukra & Luna - Oblivion at their releases, Ayla - Kaleido & Wanshi - Lucid Dreamer from Dorm Expeditions and Watanabe Epitaph from the Standard Selector, leaving the S Rank Selector from Oblivion's patch to get Liv - Empyrea, this will guarantee you an Ice Team(Shukra-Kaleido-Lucid Dreamer) & a Void(new element that arrived at Oblivion's release) Team(Oblivion-Empyrea-Epitaph)...
little side note: 13:12 - Uns will no longer receive debuffs when paired with Omns once Wanshi - Lucid Dreamer releases, but the Unis are still scams banner that have 60+ pity are scams, you risk spending more than 60 pulls, the 60 banner is better, you even have the potential of winning earlier, like i did during one of Vera - Garnet's rerun before Lee - Hyperreal released where i got her in 4 pulls, or during this current patch(Cradle Parade) where i've gotten Lamia - Lost Lullaby in 14 pulls... CUBs are partially free if you do Norman Revival Plan, but am only speaking as of current patch(Cradle Parade), i am a pure f2p player and with some luck i've managed to get all the Signature CUBs since Starfarer - Nanami till this day where Lamia - Lost Lullaby released, didn't bother to get the CUBs for Bianca - Veritas, Rosetta - Rigor, Chrome - Glory and whoever's CUB owner is for the cat... as complete f2p it's completely possible to get a 6★ weapon, but you risk not getting that certain weapon, but luckly, i did get the weapons i wanted for Karenina - Scire, 21 - Feral Scent & Lamia - Lost Lullaby... you don't necessarly need the weapon, but since the previous patch where Alisa - Echo released, 6★ are becoming much more important due to the "Harmonization" system, Harmonization allows a 6★ weapon to take on the effect of a Memory set, both it's 2pc and 4pc...
returning player here! just dropped the game after CW and got lamia. ik the next two 5 stars are basically must-have(s) so should i go for Qu on the event banner and wait for Watanabe to spawn on the standard guarantee banner? also if i had liv what is your advice on the selector on Luna's banner?
I played both HI3 and PGR. I played the former first up until the 2nd fuhua (1st creature fuhua) patch and currently still playing PGR (I started both game since day 1). Gameplay and F2P friendliness of PGR beats HI3 by a mile. Character design slightly leans to HI3. Music/Songs are about equal, both have bangers. Story, well I'm not a story enjoyer in any game, so no comment. Overall, I have more peace playing PGR than HI3. note: I'm a dolphin in both games, but I spent alot more money in HI3 than PGR.
Well, they're actual humans turned into androids. Whether that means their brains are transferred into a frame physically, or it's partially digitized, and their consciousness is somehow transferred. Either way, they're still human.
I think your review is spot on, but there are 4 things I think it's worth mentioned / additions: 1) Weapons: you can Salvage any 5 star and use the scraps to buy any 5 star weapon. Meaning even if u re lucky on the weekly Co-Op but u got a 5 star u don t need, u can still benefit from it, let alone the free ones u get through selectors to get u started. After that, 1 5 star every 3 weeks as the unluckiest scenario is pretty good 2) Free 5/4 star characters are a very recurring concept. On the contrary, players get upset if many banners come that they have no free copy through Dorm activities 3) The Story for many players are as important for a reason to play PGR as the combat is. 4) It's really important to mention than the Memories(artifact equivalent) Have NO RNG on the stats. The only RNG u get is from Reso them, for which, as u mentioned, game gives u a way to by pass through weekly/bi weekly activities. Thank you for another great one!
i played this game on release and it was pretty fun! I was lured in by the promise of being able to get every S rank as a F2P but once the grinding hit of farming events manually and having to do intensive weeklies I realized I wouldn't be able to keep up. I'm happy to see the game doing well and QOLs added.
Man I feel like a boomer of Gacha games, I remember that I started to play Gachas 8 or 9 years ago way before a lot of people in this side of our world would know what a Gacha is, my first Gacha was Valkyrie Crusade, from there I went to FGO, when I got tired of FGO extreme grinding and terrible outdated graphics (at least today they have improved a lot the quality of the 2D art, backgrounds and NPs, but even 7 years ago FGO looked ugly and outdated) I find a heaven in Honkai Impact 3rd (we are talking about 7 years ago), I have witnessed years after years how gachas has been getting more and more popular and how the community has been growing to the point that today is totally out of hand, men I really miss the days when the Gacha gamers in the west were very few and had very close but friendly communities... BTW, I started to play PGR recently and while I think that I like Honkai Impact 3rd's graphics more, over all for me PGR is a better game, I started to play PGR almost 7 or 8 months and I haven't touched HI3rd since then, even when I was an extremely hard core honkai player, I even spend more money than I would like to admit in Hi3rd (my money helped to finance Genshin :P) but PGR is just much better.
This is honestly a rly solid review for under 2 months of play... and respectful of the games merits and shortcomings in a mostly fair sense. That being said, some things are simply either not worth the complaint or simply wrong outright... such as the point regarding weapon system. With the way the weapons system is, ur allowed waaaay more creativity when it comes to actual kit design since ur not constricted to any form of standardised weapon archetypes. Now, sure, weapons sharing is cool and all, but...we know that most games that actually have weapons being shared are stingy with weapons/require way too many pulls compared to PGR. Another note is, once u have a complete main dps built, u can tackle the low Dif co op solo and finish within 10 seconds each run. This makes farming 5 star weapons significantly quicker an way easier.
Once you miss that 80% on weapon banner, that sh*t hurts bad. I got off-rated on Chrome: glory's weapon waaaay back then and my ice team is still bricked.
After getting past 8 chapters, the story will start to pick up and the fact that all chapters are replayable makes things better. You know, I, as well, wish WuWa's story had a similar serious tone as PGR.
Personally, I joined just after the "Gen 2 Attackers" were released, and imo it feels like the experience playing with Gen 2 Attackers and Gen 1 attackers are night and day, with Gen 2 Attackers having much more i-frames and ways to minimize RNG with the orb system. This isn't necessarily better or worse, but it does mean that if you enjoy the playstyle of Gen 2 Attackers but not Gen 1 ones, you're gonna have to struggle for over 2 months forced to play with Gen 1 attackers. Meanwhile, if you're looking for high difficulty, the game gets ridiculously easier when using a team with Gen 2 frames
Gen 2 frames can still be destroyed by newer bosses, fighting Fu shen and Nigel in babel is such a pain, i-frame cannot always save you since theres grab attack.
‘As a F2P You wouldn’t pull for the gacha coating right’ me who pulled Bianca's coating. 😶 By the way awesome review as always. Have you tried Lucia crimson weave? Also you forgot to talk about music of this game.
Man, i still don't have gacha coating even after playing for almost year. Skipping meta character will hurt, so my only choice only skipping. Though i planning to get CW yakuza coating.
There is a lot more free stuff in this game than this video says. S rank ayla kaledio, salena capriccio, free 6 star weapon selector, free S rank selector on top of the 40 pull banner and free skins. I'm sure there's more but i can't remember right now. If you know any, lemme know!
I've been playing PGR since the global release, and honestly, saying the story is just "pretty good" later on is a bit of an understatement, sure, most chapters are just good, but there's a few that are outliers in that they're (in my opinion) masterpieces, chapters like Echo Aria, Surviving Lucem, Cinder Burns, and with the new patch, Cradle Parade, are one of the best stories I've seen in a video game. Cradle Parade specifically has just not left my mind even though I finished reading it like 2 weeks ago, Surviving Lucem still has me tearing up when I think about it. And although there's a few typos here and there, the writing is amazing. This is already too long so I'll just say this, if you're interested in a gacha with a good story, try PGR, it is a bit slow at the start but after chapter 8 it ramps up quite fast.
@@Exel3nce you can do the entire story with just one character really, especially now that you can select the S rank you want to get on the starter banner
34:52 "so it's technically possible for a f2p to get it too, though lets be honest youre not gonna do that." brother if only you knew how many people did in fact do that
i played pgr since global release. it's a good game with appealing combat experience and nuanced story, yes, although, if i could add a little insight as well, PGR is not casual-player friendly. i stopped completely because of this reason. with so many game modes available, you need a considerable time to grind, esp if you're F2P and saving up resources for 6* items. i couldn't keep up with the releases and events when i would stop for weeks because of real-life responsibilities. my free time couldn't compensate to clear the content and FOMO hits hard. it's sad that i had to let PGR go, i miss my fully built Qu Pavo.. great review btw!
Pgr's combat is fighting with candy crush mechanic but on steroids, and i mean A LOT OF STEROIDS I'm new to pgr & I've been trying to get into the combat but the orb system is sooooo off putting. Its not necessarily bad but i have to split my brain into 2 and focus on both things. So i'm just practicing combat now & skipping the story.. This is the first game that made me change the default button layout. Hopefully this skill issue gets better soon
I quit but kept the good memories. It was a refreshing game for a gacha game and I stayed longer for the music. I wish best luck on the continue success for it.
I am a bit disappointed that you didn’t get far enough into the story to speak to its later quality but I definitely can’t exactly say I don’t understand why. The first 8 or so chapters are kind of a slog, and trying to power through them in the limited time you had would probably burn you out. However I cannot stress how good the story gets past chapter 8, and unfortunately you also missed some of the god tier music as a result 😭
"It’s even possible for a F2P to get the gacha skins, but let’s be honest, you’re not gonna do that" Ahah, yeah sure, we’re deeeeefinitly not gonna do that... *glance at his bianca srigmata skin* >.>
I can see how much the pgr community has handheld you at the start, because you did not fall for the various early game pitfalls that would lead to frustration and quitting. PGR feels like a live service game with a gacha side to it, and of course, that comes with the pitfalls of early game misconceptions. Also That FTL ost caught me so off guard wtf! it makes it even worse that YOU DIDN'T TALK ABOUT THE HEART AND BLOOD OF PGR AT ALL, that is the MUSIC it has!
JUST LITTLE MORE INFO FOR THOSE FOLKS LIKE TO COLLECT SKINS THIS GAME HAS A BAZILLION OF THEM ANDDDDD MOST OF THEM CAN BE OBTAINED FOR FREEEE ( via dorm coating vouchers or through events ) Weapon skins also some can be obtained for free via dorm thingy And some HEAVY VFX skin can be obtained through regular gacha currency, and some are paid exclusive. Remember to do your DORM FOLKS.
I want to adress somthing 1. As F2P you can got around 10K+(3-4k is s-rank character currency) or more pull currency every patch 2. As an F2P if you have plans enough you can got 6 star coats for free without top-up 3. Game usaully generous give free s-rank around 3-4 patch and free pull currency here and there(s-rank charactor, A-rank, pet) 4. You can grab signature wep and pet at least 1 every 2 patch 5. There usually free A-rank or S-rank charactor banner after S-rank so you can save up a lot for upcoming charactor
Doode forgot to mention Rogue-like modes and sound design with amazing OST. Even if u are a tourist or wanna try PGR without any building up these modes can show u how this game doing it's stuff.
Playing PGR and Nikke makes me happy. Half an hour a day while drinking my morning coffee before going my job. No Pc game addiction, Porn addiction or wasting too much time on youtube. Simple half an hour happyness everyday.
About the weapons, i think i miss one of the important features, PGR has recycle system, u can recycle 3 weapons and then u choose ANY weapon u want, that works even for 6* weapons but usually players dont do that. Yeah the grind for 5* weapons for new players is hard, but isnt that impossible, or u arent forced to go into the gacha.
It only really works per tier, and for 6* weapons unless you’re really unlucky, you’re better off saving the extras for resonances instead which will provide more value even if you can slowly build USBs as the alternative.
It's true but it's really not worth dismantling your 6*s even if you don't need them yet. It's a bad trade. Dismantling 5*s are fine I'd say especially considering you'd normally have a lot of them stacking up eventually.
Great review! It's apparent that you've done your homework in those two months. A little harsh at times, but I definitely saw the criticisms from your POV as being justified. For my part, I've been playing PGR for 1.5 years and I still gush over it. Please indulge me and my totally and absolutely biased review: ⋆ Music: S+ (stunning! Listen to Narwhal, Lamia, Hikari, Last Resort just for the tip of the iceberg) ⋆ Gameplay: S (it's so damn snappy, responsive and satisfying to play) ⋆ Sound design: S (unsung hero of PGR. Everything just sounds so right) ⋆ Characters: S (very varied personalities you genuinely get very attached to) ⋆ Game optimization: S (I'm a mobile enjoyer and this game can even be played on very old Nokia touchscreen phones. I'm not kidding, it's that smooth) ⋆ Character designs: A+ (older designs were hit or miss. newer designs are out of the park) ⋆ Time friendly: A+ (personally, I believe it respects my time: 5min for dailies, 1.5 hour total for weeklies, 3 or so hours per event, 4 hours per story chapter) ⋆ Story: A+ (I'm still on chapter 13... but chapter 12 genuinely made me tear up. I'm so behind on the story, I'm ashamed to say) ⋆ F2P/Dolphin friendly: A+ (A year ago, I quit soft drinks and started budgeting 1$ a day to PGR. I can now afford all I want and more: new S ranks, their 6* weapon, their cub, and the occasional gacha skin) ⋆ Events: A+ (they're very varied and imaginative. Usually adds a spin to the gameplay or is simply a cute mini game to work your brain cells around) ⋆ Polish: A (I very rarely encounter bugs on my phone. I heard the PC launcher can be a pain though) ⋆ Localization: B (there are often typos and spelling mistakes. The translations can be very rigid at times. A lot of ENG VAs are very good, but for a few others, not so much) ⋆ UI: C+ (it's still confusing even with the redesign. For example, as the video shows, the old resources section is still in the game. I don't know why it hasn't been removed yet) Black Rock Shooter collab next patch!
I thought the game rating being tanked hard was because of the genshin community raging and tanking every single app on playstore including the most useless app (Google classroom). then again i didnt really pay attention to the pgr discord at the time
I'd like to see a Reverse: 1999 Atrocious Gacha review. It's an incredibly underrated game while also being incredibly generous. The anniversary patch also comes out on the 19th so I think It'd be a good time.
3:02 I only played this game last year, and happened to had an April Fool event where Nanami sent me the exact same amount of (fake) black cards, which can be converted to cogs. I thought it was just a normal funny prank until I learned about this incident.
PGR is great tbh. Yeah a lot of devs back then really tried to hop on to the hype surrounding HI3rd with their own 3d arpgs but kuro was the only one that actually made something different enough and good enough to stick around (Aether gazer came a lot later). While I do prefer HI3rd for its story presentation which keeps me invested better (voiced 3d models with animations rather than pngs), animated shorts (i know pgr has some but they tbh just arent as good imo), and music that isnt dubstep, PGR defs has better combat, gacha system, and unparalleled electronic dubstep.
3:31 Hold the fuck up. You meant to tell me Kurotypo was the reason the game almost tanked in 2019? And then it happened again with WuWa in 2024? Come on Kuro 😂.
this is a fresh take from a newbie on a game with the game already like 3 years on the road. and its shocking to me that you dislike weapon system because you have to farm it? (even though you also can gacha it like other gacha game) which is fair take but as a veteran with unused like 25 5-star weapon and like ten thousand currency to buy one (450 for one) it got easier as you go (maybe its hard to do coop for you if you newbie and no one help but if you got just one meta attacker and fully build you could easily solo those hardest coop. and pgr also make the 6-star weapon available at anytime not like other gacha where you have to wait for specific banner. not to mention whooping 80% chance not 50-50 and its permanent chance not just debut weapon banner.
It's true that obtaining all new S rank releases as f2p is possible. During college, I have free time from 7-10 everyday so I play PGR while waiting for lecture. for like a year I got every S character that release, even though I was just aiming for the cute A ones like no 21😅
I already read the reasons, I guess he decided to do it at the best time, with the toxicity of the kuro games fandom I can't even imagine the comments when he gave a bad rating or gave the same rating as in Honkai Impact, nice move. The $1 "controversy" is so insane to me. I'm poor. A dollar is a dollar. And yet you've got hordes of middle and high class people acting like Kuro is stealing more of their income than their government does! It is quite literally just a dollar, don't pretend that you can't afford it or say it's "poverty shaming" that a mod pointed that out. Poverty to me is memories of vomiting excess stomach acid in my childhood because we couldn't afford food.
I recall giving it a try and investing time into PGR shortly after exhausting everything WuWa had to offer at the time. Even though I barely scratched the surface content-wise, PGR’s combat, presentation, and characters made an impression on me. Kuro Games know their stuff.
@@Kyle81290 I kinda agree I like PGR for being more fast paced and ofc WuWa characters haven't reached the gameplay mechanic level of the newer PGR units yet and for reasons they might never reach the level of PGR mechanics or maybe they will? The reasons are optimization issues that might come with extreme mechanics similar to gen3 PGR units, and second is ofc the weapon variety, some WuWa weapon take on different forms like broadblade for Jiyan becoming a spear or the rectis but it still can't compare to the amount of weapon types PGR has lol. Too early to say anything tho who knows what Kuro is planning. And it just comes down to preference tbh. I personally prefer PGR combat like you.
@@Kyle81290 If WuWA has same combat with PGR, the audience for WuWA will be smaller. Because PGR combat is not for casual, but for hardcore player. Even though WuWa has more simple combat than PGR, some people still mention WuWA is not for casual because hologram. PGR combat is good, but too flashy even you need relied to instinct for evading (Lamia for example). Kuro try to appeal to larger audience, that's why WuWA combat need to be simplified (though is not simple as GI)
Anyone can tell me the name of the outro music (from 38:25 and until the end)? The link in the video desc marked as an outro leads to wholly different track.
Comparing PGR's gacha with every other system is like comparing a Kirby game to a Soulsborne game. It's so generous and easy that even a F2P player could easily get every character if they're consistent with the dailies snd weekly.

PGR is wayyyy more generous and F2P friendly than Hi3. And that's a fact. Farmable limited S rank units is crazy. 30 pull weapon banner (Granted that you don't lose the 80% every time lmao). 60 pull guaranteed S unit. 20 pulls for a CUB (They're like ELFs of Hi3). Farmable memories in the event shop for the latest or oldest units. In Hi3, part 2 stigmata is also farmable and obtained through the weapon banner, but you have to pray to not get dupes of the same shit. Otherwise, you have to forge them manually using ether fuels and Prisms. But they also give a free stigmata box for the new unit on the release patch, which does help a lot. But Pgr is still more generous because the same resource used to forge the stigmata is also used to upgrade them in Honkai. So, Prisms are a very valuable and limited resource. Oh and the returnee rewards are dog shit as well. A free SP and A rank, roughly 2000 crystals, and a few mats. 2 tickets, which is only 1 pull on the limited and equipment banner. You don't even get Prisms for the returnee rewards, lmao. This is all coming from a 6 year old veteran from Hi3 with almost 2100 days. I recently returned to Hi3 to get ready for the free Artbook. I do plan on giving the story another shot since chapter 1 was very slow pace and not much action. I might skip just to catch up.
Not gonna lie, after hearing how hard it is to make a meta teamcomp in PGR it doesnt seem right Hi3rd now is really F2P with P2, u get Senadina and use Helia and Coralie and u dont need to be bothered with basically any content Apperantly if u play game actively u can get every S rank which comes as well...
Actually you prefer to get as many stigmatas as you can before you get the weapon (preferably getting it in the least amount of pulls) since the most easy way to get Prisms is salvaging them and those are the main bottleneck to progress if you didn't start them in the special shop on Part 2 release that lasted for 3 versions.
Depends on viewpoint. Like, if you want to score really high in PPC - no, it's not f2p(you can't overscore veteran whales), same thing with HI3 Nirvana abyss and top 1% of MA(the main non-f2p aspect of that game). If you are playing PGR for any other stuff - yes, pretty much.
I've spent about $250 since I started in 2022. 50 for a skin. 200 on rolls for characters (crimson weave mainly). I'm on a long break from the game and haven't played in a couple months, so I don't have lamia. But I have literally every character in the game (minus the event Nier characters). Every character is at least S rank with most being SS and multiple SSS. I've invested about 20 minutes a day to the game over the last two years and don't regret any of it. That being said, I'm only on chapter 14. There's more text in the main story than the Bible, and I want to absorb it all without skipping through it.
Reall hope you'll do one on alchemy stars someday. It's a really f2p friendly gacha game with a very interesting touch on turn-by-turn combat that doesn't get spoken about. The dev team is also very competent and attentive to the playerbase
A good review from a new players' perspective We do have a few modes you didn't mention like the Guild Expedition which shows up every 4 patches now Also Norman requires 6 teams for the final stage And also, you did mention that weapon banner have a 80-20 rate up, but if you do lose, know that no 6 star weapon is a waste cuz you can use 6 star weapons you don't use to get resonances on 6 star weapons you do use and weapon resonances are very important and can significantly improve units who are otherwise lack luster without them

Kuro having a bad launch is kinda part of their identity now
Nah some live game suffers it, gacha games or video games they get the same treatment
And typos
@@mr.edelweiss I think you misunderstand the degree to how true it is. Even for cases where the game hasn't launched in full live service functionality, and only just a CBT form, they are prone to falling into controversies. CBT1 regional lock and CBT2 content lock was just examples of that. There's also issues of PGR early access content being lambasted on bili because of really bad optimization (back in 2019 ofc)
On top of this, every single game they released (as well as including the Global server for PGR, which Kuro self published, unlike the previous KR and JP servers), had a launch controversy. Even twintail battlefields :icant: (context - generally very poor server support and inadequate customer response at launch). Kurogames just has this curse of having disastrous launches, but somehow always surviving through and really improving from it -aside from the twintails... that died due to chinese exclusivity-
@@Istreakilaz oh...I didn't know
also that last part is quite hilarious since Kuro took 2 games to experience just to know how bad region exclusivity is.
Thank you for pointing all of these out before I got a chance to. Allso do you agree that it is possible to keep up with 4* weapons? o7
All 5 star weapons can be acquired for free through co-op but it will take a while. Only ever use 4 star weapons if you have no other weapon available.

constructs aren't naturally resistant to the virus, but their inver device is what allows them to be resistant only if connected to a commandant's mind beacon. without inver devices, they are just as susceptible to being corrupted like any machine unless if they are a transcendant, or a specialised frame. that is one of the reason most squads needs a commandant to connect to their inver device.

I remember that I wanted that skin so bad 😂 finally have it now but I was mad back then
My favorite gacha game.
My favorite one would be the sagemachina nanami story arc. It's just so peak, in nanami i would trust...
Oh shit, really? i might redownload pgr for this reason then lol
They're boresome, not bad imo
I always thought the writing good, characters, world, choose of words, concepts...
it might be surprising, but early chapters hook me to keep playing. I want to know what happened on the world where the punishing virus exists. though, ofc those 8 chapters are still mid compared to the newer ones.
Ch 1-8 is not bad per sé, just boring
But those 8 chapters are very important on establishing the lore
the only bad thing about this review is no mention of the music in pgr
Because it's not anything to shout about to be honest.

In my humble opinion, one does not get the true pgr experience until they at least reach chapter 17, surviving lucem
@@Kanethedragon I hard disagree on the story part. It's generic if you really think PGR has unique compelling story.
@@iflgames3245for chapter 1-8 sure, but when they got comfortable and we received stories like Cinder Burns, it's not even funny anymore

I hope u understand u just summoned the entire fanbase with just this video

Correction, Construct aren't genetically modified human, they are more akin to Nikke just with their consciousness digitised instead of brain put into an android body
In reality it's even more extreme than that, the NIKKE still have their brains, the constructs don't, they are almost more similar to the Android of Nier Automata. we can see this with Lucia and Alpha who are the same person.

Finally a video about PGR!
Thanks for reviewing pgr. I am sure it might have been lot to take in but it is a fun ride and a good game for specific people that are looking for this type of game in gacha genre. ( That is a game with lots of challanging content multiple gamemode, and good story after slow start and very f2p freindly if played right)
The Game does lots of good things (ofc might have some flaws but nothing is perfect ) and also hope to see it improving and what it will offer in future later down the line. ❤
It's worth mentioning that with monthly pass you can pretty much gurantee 6 star weapon for every new s rank + more (unless you lose 80/20 which statistically speaking shouldn't be often) the value of monthly pass is honestly insane in this game
80/20*
@@jonathanbustillos514 Thanks for pointing that out, I confused with the character rerun banner
It's very easy to lose the weapon banner, people would often hit 3x losses in a row.
Newer chapters have so much story it takes me 6-10hour to read through. And Everyone having different weapons is like a lore thing.

@@MrBentalton777 limited amount of skull income obviously, newbies need to be very selective
19:34 - from Dorm, only the Expeditions are worth doing so you can get the free S Rank via the shards, even tho players that can afford it first gacha for said unit and then use those shards to get the unit to SS3, all other units that can not be farmed through "Recitativo di Fantasia" or "Dorm Expeditions" can be farmed till SS0, unless they are given on selectors so you can SS3 them
20:04 - the Resonance can be change at any time but it will cost you 1/many memories of that specific set(you can use Slot 1 memory to Resonate Slot 5 Memory for example) or 1 USB as shown in the video, speaking of the USB, it can be used on the memory even if it has no Resonance because the item is a Resonance Selector, it acts as a Memory with power of choice...
21:17 - joining today is indeed rough, best times to join are 2 patches before major events, like how during Balter(Bianca - Stigmata, we call her Balter cuz she looks like Saber Alter from FGO) when playing that patch with savings from 2 patches ago, you could make an entire Physical Team (the Login S Rank Selector that provides Liv - Luminance), the "Guide" Selectors (that provides Rosetta - Rigor & her 6★ Weapon) and of course Balter...
you do have to ask around veterans or do research to know when/what would be the next time to start... but since the current patch(Cradle Parade), any time to join is good, but my advice for anyone wanting to join is to start now, play the super long game and save up all your pulls and get the following: Qu - Shukra & Luna - Oblivion at their releases, Ayla - Kaleido & Wanshi - Lucid Dreamer from Dorm Expeditions and Watanabe Epitaph from the Standard Selector, leaving the S Rank Selector from Oblivion's patch to get Liv - Empyrea, this will guarantee you an Ice Team(Shukra-Kaleido-Lucid Dreamer) & a Void(new element that arrived at Oblivion's release) Team(Oblivion-Empyrea-Epitaph)...
little side note:
13:12 - Uns will no longer receive debuffs when paired with Omns once Wanshi - Lucid Dreamer releases, but the Unis are still scams
banner that have 60+ pity are scams, you risk spending more than 60 pulls, the 60 banner is better, you even have the potential of winning earlier, like i did during one of Vera - Garnet's rerun before Lee - Hyperreal released where i got her in 4 pulls, or during this current patch(Cradle Parade) where i've gotten Lamia - Lost Lullaby in 14 pulls...

8:20 they are not genetically modified humans they are at most androids with human like features and brain patterns.
Well, they're actual humans turned into androids. Whether that means their brains are transferred into a frame physically, or it's partially digitized, and their consciousness is somehow transferred. Either way, they're still human.
This is actually my fav game rn. It got some much needed updates that make it such a fun casual play
I think your review is spot on, but there are 4 things I think it's worth mentioned / additions:
1) Weapons: you can Salvage any 5 star and use the scraps to buy any 5 star weapon. Meaning even if u re lucky on the weekly Co-Op but u got a 5 star u don t need, u can still benefit from it, let alone the free ones u get through selectors to get u started. After that, 1 5 star every 3 weeks as the unluckiest scenario is pretty good
2) Free 5/4 star characters are a very recurring concept. On the contrary, players get upset if many banners come that they have no free copy through Dorm activities
3) The Story for many players are as important for a reason to play PGR as the combat is.
BTW, I started to play PGR recently and while I think that I like Honkai Impact 3rd's graphics more, over all for me PGR is a better game, I started to play PGR almost 7 or 8 months and I haven't touched HI3rd since then, even when I was an extremely hard core honkai player, I even spend more money than I would like to admit in Hi3rd (my money helped to finance Genshin :P) but PGR is just much better.
keep it up,each update just keep getting better💪
i can't wait for the new dorm feature!
This makes farming 5 star weapons significantly quicker an way easier.
finally a PGR review, awesome work.
Once you miss that 80% on weapon banner, that sh*t hurts bad. I got off-rated on Chrome: glory's weapon waaaay back then and my ice team is still bricked.
Reason to play Gray raven
1. Music
2. Gameplay
3. Alpha
4. Story (not friendly for who lack patience and sense)

Respectable review, I definitetly think this game has the best gameplay of any gacha game currently and glad u were able to enjoy it
I've been playing PGR since the global release, and honestly, saying the story is just "pretty good" later on is a bit of an understatement, sure, most chapters are just good, but there's a few that are outliers in that they're (in my opinion) masterpieces, chapters like Echo Aria, Surviving Lucem, Cinder Burns, and with the new patch, Cradle Parade, are one of the best stories I've seen in a video game. Cradle Parade specifically has just not left my mind even though I finished reading it like 2 weeks ago, Surviving Lucem still has me tearing up when I think about it. And although there's a few typos here and there, the writing is amazing. This is already too long so I'll just say this, if you're interested in a gacha with a good story, try PGR, it is a bit slow at the start but after chapter 8 it ramps up quite fast.

i played pgr since global release. it's a good game with appealing combat experience and nuanced story, yes, although, if i could add a little insight as well, PGR is not casual-player friendly. i stopped completely because of this reason. with so many game modes available, you need a considerable time to grind, esp if you're F2P and saving up resources for 6* items. i couldn't keep up with the releases and events when i would stop for weeks because of real-life responsibilities. my free time couldn't compensate to clear the content and FOMO hits hard. it's sad that i had to let PGR go, i miss my fully built Qu Pavo.. great review btw!

I'm new to pgr & I've been trying to get into the combat but the orb system is sooooo off putting. Its not necessarily bad but i have to split my brain into 2 and focus on both things. So i'm just practicing combat now & skipping the story.. This is the first game that made me change the default button layout. Hopefully this skill issue gets better soon

⋆ Characters: S (very varied personalities you genuinely get very attached to)
⋆ Game optimization: S (I'm a mobile enjoyer and this game can even be played on very old Nokia touchscreen phones. I'm not kidding, it's that smooth)
⋆ Character designs: A+ (older designs were hit or miss. newer designs are out of the park)
⋆ Time friendly: A+ (personally, I believe it respects my time: 5min for dailies, 1.5 hour total for weeklies, 3 or so hours per event, 4 hours per story chapter)
⋆ Story: A+ (I'm still on chapter 13... but chapter 12 genuinely made me tear up. I'm so behind on the story, I'm ashamed to say)
⋆ F2P/Dolphin friendly: A+ (A year ago, I quit soft drinks and started budgeting 1$ a day to PGR. I can now afford all I want and more: new S ranks, their 6* weapon, their cub, and the occasional gacha skin)
⋆ Events: A+ (they're very varied and imaginative. Usually adds a spin to the gameplay or is simply a cute mini game to work your brain cells around)
⋆ Polish: A (I very rarely encounter bugs on my phone. I heard the PC launcher can be a pain though)
⋆ Localization: B (there are often typos and spelling mistakes. The translations can be very rigid at times. A lot of ENG VAs are very good, but for a few others, not so much)

You forgot to mention that we PGR Veterans would MALD extremely hard for limited STICKERS.
I mean, who wouldn't want those cutesy stickers?
i felt this so freaking bad... WHY LIMIT MY STICKERS? that's evil.
anyway, lemme go speedrun the event xd
Pyschie, the avatar, we need you back in Nikke!
I guess it becomes a pattern for kuro to have a rocky start but improves into a heck of a game later on lmao.
At this point "there's just one problem" should be a catchphrase
I challenge you to review Guardian Tales including full story review
How many hours is that will be?!
Next to Alisa in the shop is another free s rank, Ayla kaleido.
So Kuro giving out free 5 star is just a norm?
very normal and also free SFX skin
i hope one day you do review of Guardian tales....best pixel story based gacha game i have ever played.
this is a fresh take from a newbie on a game with the game already like 3 years on the road. and its shocking to me that you dislike weapon system because you have to farm it? (even though you also can gacha it like other gacha game) which is fair take but as a veteran with unused like 25 5-star weapon and like ten thousand currency to buy one (450 for one) it got easier as you go (maybe its hard to do coop for you if you newbie and no one help but if you got just one meta attacker and fully build you could easily solo those hardest coop.
and pgr also make the 6-star weapon available at anytime not like other gacha where you have to wait for specific banner. not to mention whooping 80% chance not 50-50 and its permanent chance not just debut weapon banner.
also account with meta character surprisingly cheap if you know where to find it.
It's true that obtaining all new S rank releases as f2p is possible. During college, I have free time from 7-10 everyday so I play PGR while waiting for lecture. for like a year I got every S character that release, even though I was just aiming for the cute A ones like no 21😅
Any specific reason why this is the only Atrocious Gacha Review that is not rated as the others have been? Suspicious...
Read the description
Read my guy read. Gacha players are really not beating the unable to read allegations
I already read the reasons, I guess he decided to do it at the best time, with the toxicity of the kuro games fandom I can't even imagine the comments when he gave a bad rating or gave the same rating as in Honkai Impact, nice move.
Edit: I will also mention that there may also be controversy from the Hoyo fandom, I mention this so that archishmanroy2874 stops crying at me for just mentioning his beloved company.
@@lainarc so you really are a hoyoshill huh ? Should have begun your comment with this statement tbh. I dunno if you have already watched the video or not but he is enjoying WuWa rn and likes Kuro as a company more than ehmm. So if he gives a better review score for PGR than HI3 then you hoyoshills will start losing your minds. This is why he has abandoned the scoring. Like learn to read and understand the meaning in between sentences. Typical Hoyoshills with kindergarten level of intelligence
@@WuWaGlazer078 XD typical, you don't like someone's comment because you feel identified and you feel the need to label the person as your enemy. I don't marry any company, I just enjoy games, I play PGR, Nikke and Honkai, and leaving aside Nikke, the community is disgusting, both Kuro games and hoyoverse and you're proving it.
This game flamed on my almost burnt out ember for action games. PGR and Wuwa gave me of what i felt before when I'm playing DMC and Nier ❤
Now i sleep like at 3am 😂
The $1 "controversy" is so insane to me. I'm poor. A dollar is a dollar. And yet you've got hordes of middle and high class people acting like Kuro is stealing more of their income than their government does! It is quite literally just a dollar, don't pretend that you can't afford it or say it's "poverty shaming" that a mod pointed that out. You people have never experienced poverty once in your life ROFL. Poverty to them is McDonalds raising their $1 ice creams by a few cents. Poverty to me is memories of vomiting excess stomach acid in my childhood because we couldn't afford food.
Guardian Tale is a really, really good one too. A true gem that stays modern with it's game references.
I recall giving it a try and investing time into PGR shortly after exhausting everything WuWa had to offer at the time.
Even though I barely scratched the surface content-wise, PGR’s combat, presentation, and characters made an impression on me.
Kuro Games know their stuff.
As a long time PGR player, playing WW after PGR felt bad... WW combat is pretty bad. They took away everything that makes PGR combat good.
PGR demands you to pass chapter 8, before you experience peak PGR
@@Kyle81290 care to explain? because i quite enjoy wuwa's combat, meanwhile im finding it hard to get into pgr
That is " IF THEY PLAYING SINCE RELEASE"
@@okularnik125 if you are 1-2 years consider it having alot of character because i'm from surviving lucem patch almost completing getting all characters except alpha, kamui, 2 s rank lee, and 21
@@matthewalexanderpugar3719 I'm also from the surviving lucem patch and while a light spender to speed things up I think I only lack the same characters as you. I can comfortably SS with weapon any new relevant character and go out of my way for all of the BC coatings, it takes a while but catch up is plenty doable and once you reach that stage you're cruising
yeah holy shit even as f2p i could gacha weapon and cub and even coating bruh, you wont get gacha game this generous (maybe gbf).
@@momogi618 E7 is more generous, its not even close
7:44
My soul shattered into infinite pieces just like timelines shatter after the mention of MWI...
Zero-point energy is a form of energy in quantum mechanics. It may exist in our universe as well, so it's not really "discovered", rather "confirmed to be real"
2100 days ? Damn.
I'm close to 1500
Not gonna lie, after hearing how hard it is to make a meta teamcomp in PGR it doesnt seem right
Hi3rd now is really F2P with P2, u get Senadina and use Helia and Coralie and u dont need to be bothered with basically any content
Apperantly if u play game actively u can get every S rank which comes as well...
Noone mentioned Hi3 but off course PGR shil has to bring it up because its the only thing they have.
There's more text in the main story than the Bible, and I want to absorb it all without skipping through it.
pseychie stopped putting the ratings on thumbnails? not used to this
Reall hope you'll do one on alchemy stars someday. It's a really f2p friendly gacha game with a very interesting touch on turn-by-turn combat that doesn't get spoken about. The dev team is also very competent and attentive to the playerbase
The thumbnail gave me a whole team of new sleep paralysis demons
That thumbnail reminds of the old meme “me and the boys”
Matter of fact all your thumbnails are a different breed of unhinged and I approve
hey can you pls do guardian tales next
A good review from a new players' perspective
We do have a few modes you didn't mention like the Guild Expedition which shows up every 4 patches now
Also Norman requires 6 teams for the final stage
And also, you did mention that weapon banner have a 80-20 rate up, but if you do lose, know that no 6 star weapon is a waste cuz you can use 6 star weapons you don't use to get resonances on 6 star weapons you do use and weapon resonances are very important and can significantly improve units who are otherwise lack luster without them
