    Nishioka should team up with Rublev, that way they could get group discount when they hire a psychologist to coach them in anger management 💁‍♂️

    This was actually a genius tactic: you're 0-30 against Hurkacz and he's serving, so you're most likely losing that game, but by throwing all the balls away you gain a fresh batch of new balls right during your serving game!

    The WTA handshake was unnecessary, Hurkacz is a cool dude and has nothing to do with Nishioka's anger management issues.
    Rublev always respect his opponent at least.

    • @fretstain

    • @FamilyYoutubeTV-x6d
      @FamilyYoutubeTV-x6d 4 месяца назад +4

      Because there are not that many visible Japanese world class athletes that you see every day, except for the World Cups or the Olympics, unless you live in Asia or Japan. In the Olympics a Japanese girl had a breakdown, which I do not judge, it seemed she was autistic and I respect neurodiverse people. The Japanese are just like everybody else. What the Japanese have going for them in terms of development is strict hierarchical respect and homogeneity, and yet that has not been enough to dethrone the US or China (or Europe in some cases) in most industries. What China has is size. What the US has is diversity.

    • @bonzwah1
      @bonzwah1 4 месяца назад +19

      The size difference is pretty big too. Nishikori is 3 inches taller and was more muscular in his prime. Nishioka has very little firepower. He relies a lot on his lefty patterns and making his opponent uncomfortable. Nishikori in his prime had the firepower from the baseline to take destiny into his own hands.

    • @jonas8993
      @jonas8993 4 месяца назад +5

      @@bonzwah1 there not only could be 0 talent difference but even Yoshihito could be more talented as far as we know. The difference at this level is so small. A tiny improvement on the serve could send a top 50 player to top20. Some top100 players could be top10 if they didn't have certain injuries that break their rythmn and confidence. All we know is Nishikori played slightly better and won bigger prizes. But to say that Yoshihito doesn't have the "actual talent"...

    I was in the stadium (Court 3) watching this game and what could have happened is that there was a young kid cheering very loudly for Hurkacz between every single point. At first, it was cute and funny but the kid was a bit intense, did not stop the whole match and got a bit annoying to be frank lol. That could have played against Nishioka even though he should not have been annoyed so easily. If you are a tennis fan, check also the game between Etcheverry and Shelton that occurred at Cincy where Shelton almost lost...because the same kid was cheering the same loudly way for Tommy. Fun fact: Hurkacz went right away to this kid at the end of his game and gave him his tennis racket (he knew the influence) and Shelton (even though the kid was cheering for Etcheverry) went to see the kid to give him something too...smart move as you probably want to have this kid on your side!

    Being upset/mad with yourself is one thing.
    But potentially putting other people at risk is inexcusable.
    (And I need to clarify, because some idiots with poor understanding of consequence may decide to come at me):
    The balls MAY not have hit anyone. But if it/they did, it could have hit someone in the face or worse.
    You look up, and a ball smacks you in the eye, or you're holding a hot beverage, and it knocks it out of your hand. Or what if it hits a kid?
    It's unlikely, but that's what being an adult is; understanding and avoiding unnecessary risk to others, because you can reason outcomes BEFORE your actions.

The trainer yelled and me and ordered me to go search and pick the ball and return it to the field, it took me 40 minutes to find it after looking under all of the cars parked there.
