    The only hole in this theory is the fact that after they slid without knowing which professor came with them, they landed in a world with the truth device around their neck that would electrocute them when they lied, so it’s basically implied he was the real professor because they would have asked him at some point.

      yeah i get what ur saying. that was the intended ep order. the dino world but fox changed it. however, since it never happened on screen, most folks dont consider that canon. thats just thinking outside the box but i do agree, they should have asked him that. u have to remember also by the 2nd season the studio kept telling them to move forward and drop certain storylines. in season 2 the network didnt care if quinn got shot and the creator had to fight to put that in the premiere of the 2nd season

      Well you can argue he wasn't the original Arturo as he is shown to have no knowledge of American football in The Guardian which is in contrast of Summer of Love where when Quinn hits him with a rock by accident when trying to hit that Spider Wasp despite having played quarterback in high school. Arturo asks him what offense his team played which Quinn answers wishbone. Arturo states that explains his poor throwing ability. So he went from knowing what a not so well known Football Offense is in Summer of Love to not even knowing what to call the position of QB in The Guardian. You can argue that even if asked he could get out of it. Example: Are you our Arturo? He can say yea he is and tech be telling the truth because the OJ professor is gone so he is NOW their Arturo.

    Hey folks - just watched the Dinosaur episode which occurs right after the episode with the good/bad professors. In that episode, there is a scene the professor talks with Wade in the cave with the truth collars. They talk about the world they visited with folks wearing no cloths - they both remember it and comment , and we the audience saw that world too after Quinn slid from the Astroplane earlier in the season. Thus, the good professor slid overall because his truth collar would have shocked him lying about remembering that adventure.

    There was an episode soon after where the Professor said something about their doubles being indistinguishable from them and Quinn gave him a hard look, but didn't say anything. If the Professor was left behind, at least it was on a world where he would be honored in his ongoing profession. And, in that case, the double Professor was dying and ended up giving his life for Quinn, even though he had tried to steal Quinn's accomplishment when they first met.

    It's a good setup for future payoff, tucking the good professor away for safe-keeping. I think a single-season with the original four re-assembling and finally making it home would be sweet. The good professor could be the one leading the charge, sliding around to find and recruit his friends to go home. Remy would be the obvious choice for the first pickup. He's always been a supportive friend to the "eggheads", and never seems to have any luck with trying to settle back down anyway. Mr. Brown and Mr. Arturo catch up at a diner, with Remy revealing Wade's fate. It wouldn't take much to persuade Rembrandt to re-join the band, pun intended.
    Quinn on the other hand, would now have a family. He doesn't want to return home because he's already lost his mom to old age on this world, and he has a family he can't just abandon or drag along. He rightly points out that Wade is long since gone, so there's nothing they can do. The professor has a proposal, however. If they can find the world where time ran backwards, in theory they could leave themselves a message to find when they visited in season 2. It seems they might be able to prevent Wade's fate from ever happening in the first place. Quinn is angry, turning them away to sulk in his basement. Arturo and Rembrandt plan to go ahead without Quinn, since neither of them can bear to try and pull him away from what he's built over the years.
    The plan is to inform their past selves about Logan St. Clair and the tracking tech. With this foreknowledge the sliders will be able to avoid sabotage _and_ gain St. Clair's tracking technology. They decide that the message must relate to an event that happens shortly after its discovery, to maximize success, and this is a win/win. (only two episodes after the backward time one) The sliders will be able to dodge St Clair, sabotage her program instead of marooning her, and swipe the coordinate software or whatever.
    The monkey wrench would be Older Quinn having arrived after Remy and Prof to alter their message. Max theorizes that they must exit the backward time world in order for the message they left behind to become part of the reverse time flow - like holding a twig against the current of a stream, it doesn't become part of the stream's flow until you let go. (besides which, they'd have to wait around some twenty odd years) So the elder sliders drop off the message and slide out. Unbeknownst to them, Quinn arrived shortly after them, and was spying on their activities. He destroys the message and replaces it with one of his own, hoping to prevent his current reality from being erased. Thus "Don't trust St. Clair" is replaced with "Take the other Arturo". Quinn can't just let it go with no message at all, because all these events will just happen again, and he's afraid becoming caught in a loop. He is counting on good Arturo prime to take the bullet just like the other version of him did. He knows "evil" Arturo - left behind this time around - won't come crusading in two decades later like Arturo prime did, Wade will still be captured, and he gets to keep his current reality. (his family)
    This time around, though, the situation plays out differently in "Exodus". This time Quinn isn't suspicious that they are with the wrong professor. He's not aware of the other timeline or anything, but just for reference, he's more emotionally invested in this professor than he was in the other one. Anyway, that little bit more is all it takes for Quinn to act selflessly, though perhaps a bit rashly, in charging Rickman. The professor is unable to get in front of him this time, and Mallory takes the hit. He dies instead of Arturo, which ripples through the timelines. Future Quinn's reality ceases to exist, since he now died in season 3. Wade's fate remains the same. Arturo prime and Remy eventually figure out the same plan, but this time Quinn isn't around to undo it. They leave the message, receive it in S2, and manage to avoid the St Clair trap, prevent Wade's horrific fate, and eventually, get home. (by end of season, as their current older selves)
    The epilogue would see everyone reuniting with their now much older families. Quinn has dinner with his mom. Rembrandt goes to a jazz dive to get a feel for the vibes of a world he hasn't seen in decades. Arturo goes to sit by himself in the park, pondering what to do now, how much to information to divulge to the public. Wade is regaling her sister's college-age children with tales of sliding adventures. As a lead-in for another series, this could also be where Wade's niece/nephew and a friend or two sneak in and get themselves lost on a slide. Being temporarily unable to go after them, and also probably rather exhausted after _finally_ making it back home, the sliders would exchange slightly annoyed looks. Quinn explains that he can whip up another timer, but it'll likely take a few weeks to order a few of the more rare components. Wade pipes up with, "You know what, they're smart kids, and we just got back. Let's take a minute to appreciate the ground under our feet actually being _home."_ She walks out into the back yard and sits down on the ground. Quinn sits down next to her, and they both lay back onto the grass, looking up at a clear night's starry sky.
    Okay so that' probably a lot cheesier than it sounded in my head. Might still be better than the latter half of season 3.

  • @jesselockwood8958

    Quinn Prime slid without a functioning timer as evidenced by the incomplete equation on the chalkboard. He is not even from the world where he meets the other Quinn in the first episode (we'll call that guy Quinn Arrogenses) - So the Arturo, Wade, and Rembrant that he slid with halfway through the first episode - those are not people from his original world. HE NEVER, EVER MADE it back - he just slide into a very similar world where that Quinn slid out also without completing the timer equation. Quinn Arrogenses just assumes that's the original Quinn from that world, because... well, arrogance - completes the equation for him, and that cements Quinn Prime's belief that he's on his primary world once he meets him. Someone hold my beer.

    The original timer could return back to the previous world, it’s just they had to start the timer early because of the tornado in the ice world, that’s what put them in a random spin. The Egyptian timer had the ability to store coordinates in its memory, not just the previous world.

    Thanks for the video! Thinking the original writer knew shit behind the scenes was starting and J.R. Davis was vocal about the direction of the show. Therefore, this story of switching professors left an open ended character back door to saying that ‘well, it might not be our professor that went through getting sick and then getting shot’. Thus, it’s up to us I believe at the end. However, this leads to us now getting a reboot in the works and this story line can certainly connect easily to starting the new show. We will see! If they were to bring back the show this is how they would bring back the professor by stating that his double slid, in 2010 the creator stated that the double slid so we have confirmation of that, with regard to dinoslide and the truth collars we don't know that that world is the next world they slid to say they had slid to a different earth before, the double may have already quelled their concerns and even if not I believe he his smart enough to craft an answer that is truthful enough to convince them without setting off the collar, I also think people forget that quinn, remy and wade would want the double to be their arturo (knowing that if they found out he wasn't there wasn't anything they could do about it) they were most likely desperate to believe any answer they got that didn't set off the shock collar as confirmation that the double was there arturo, for fear of facing the truth so they buried their concerns and continued on and the more the double behaved like their arturo the easier it was to shake off doubles and they were most likely frightened to bring it up

      or all the returning Characters are just doubles on another Earth

  • @XFactor5a
    @XFactor5a Год назад +1

    Ok let's put it this way the scene in the basement, the tied up Professor was all sweaty and a mess, and very agitated which is consistent for someone chained up for days, while the one that came to confront them and has the timer, was clean and calm. Later when he claims to be the real one, his eyes look away for a few seconds before claiming to met his late wife and made an A-Bomb, info he got from Wade's published diaries, the fact that his eyes wandered and he paused indicates he's lying and trying to come up with a quick excuse to convince the others. So the real one is the one chained in the basement.
    Later during the fight between both Professors, the both get messed up so they couldn't see the physical difference. But there is a difference. Since after they freed the real Professor and he KO'd the doppleganger, it was stated there was only 17min to slide, the Sliders rush to Quinn's house to say goodbye to their doppleganger's family. It's reasonable to assume the real Arturo must stink like hell and not had enough time to get cleaned up. They could've used that to tell which one was the real one.
    So the Fake Prof or Prof2's reason for sliding now is to either find a world with a cure for his illness or just experience sliding before he dies. Regardless he's not evil or bad, he did give his life for Quinn.

      @@slidersprime5653 You can argue that Sliding isn't about time travel. It can be argued that it is just the effect of the Special Theory of Relativity. The Special Theory of Relativity in regards to time causes time dilation. In simple terms faster you go relative to someone else the slower time is for you relative to that person. Time dilation is why GPS satellites need to account for time dilation or they would be inaccurate quick. So hear me out. Maybe some parallel Earths are going around the sun just slightly faster in some than others or vice versa. The difference in time dilation between Earths could make a parallel Earth be the year 1865 and you can stop the Lincoln assassination or in some other parallel Earth it is the year 2260 and you can say hi to your great, great, grandchild and find out how you died and when. It wouldn't be time travel in the traditional way but in practice it would be. You didn't go back in time in a slide. You just entered a Earth that was time dilated over billions of years of it going slightly faster or slower than our Earth . It would be a plausible and actually scientifically sound reason why a parallel Earth would be in our past or future relative to our Earth

    Great show but after they killed off the professor it just wasn’t the same & I stopped at S3 but the 4 Jerry,Sabrina,John Cleavant had great chemistry in 2.5 seasons & change🔥

    Here's a simple way to tell who's who. Evil Arturo wore bifocals. In the episodes after that one, do you see Arturo struggling to read or see things? Do you see him trying to get eyeglasses? If so, then it was the evil Arturo. If not, it was the original Arturo.

    Will quinn mallory return to sliders series six?

    • @slidersprime5653
      @slidersprime5653  2 года назад +2

      well quinn died in season 5 so probably not. now if jerry can get the rights to sliders, as he wants, then he will return in some form. either as a double or he might just say screw season 5 and continue the series from season 4

      I thought Quinn was merged with his fraternal double and they called him Mallory (I’m a fraternal twin myself). After the merger, he had the other Quinn’s memories, but later got repressed. In the episode “Eye of the Storm”, they tried to separate them, but they were merged too long. That season was so confusing.

      it is confusing. i think they said something like he's gone and thats why they cant try again or something. i dont really remember its been years since i see that season. ive only seen that season once and really dont want to watch it again but i cam curious to rewatch it. its so hard to rewatch that season again.

      @@slidersprime5653 hi, they could seperate Quinn but it would delete the existence of Mallory. Meggie told them to stop the sepeation, because she thought Quinn would not wanted it(Because the cause death of Mallory).
