I am using the thinnest double point knitting needles our local shop had - and I had to use 5 DP to fit all the tiny stitches on them. I also have never used double points before so it’s taken me a bit of learning. I also am a university professor so was knitting and marking assignments - so didn’t get to spend more than about an hour a day on them. I’ve made entire adult sized sweaters much faster - but then you’re using bigger 6mm sized needles and thicker yarn - so it knits up much faster. These little 1.5 mm needles are very thin.

After years of failing to learn how to crochet, I now need to learn how to crochet. It’s not a want anymore, it’s a must.

Those are lovely coasters. I love how it looks like a little vase of flowers on the table.
FYI, crochet is pronounced cro-shay. It's from French. The T is not pronounced, and CH makes an SH sound.

That's it. This is officially the video that gets me to try out crocheting. I always thought it's a lovely hobby to have but seems hard, but that coaster planter is hands-down the cutest crochet project I've seen

It super helps to start with a higher quality material that you know you can wash easily. That was when youre done you feel confident enough to use it. Secure any loose ends and tighten your stitches a bit as well if youre worried youll end up washing it a lot.

A really good idea is to either to use darker colors to hide any tea staining or some brown colors for the design to hide them even better! I might make something like that myself 😊
