    Hi, thank you for the video! I have this clay on amazon delivery and it’s going to be here in a week. I was looking for something like this and I am happy that I found this. Really helpful and I enjoyed watching it. I’m so excited for it now! 😁

      Hi there. It's a wonderful clay but it will dry out if you don't have a way to seal it up. So, the best plan is to open the package and have a lot of fun being creative until it's all used up. ;-) Thanks so much for watching. Stay Creative!

    I will try O2 absorbers in the bag that will hold my leftover clay. I use those when I dehydrate food. I've not yet tried the clay but your video was very helpful. I'm anxious to dig in!!

    Cooling your hands under cold running water can help to reduce the clay drying out time.

      Hi Anne. Thanks so much for watching this video. I'm glad you found the information valuable. Honestly, my food saver is used more for paper clay than anything else. Lol! I've kept clay this way for months and months with no drying out. Thanks again for watching. I stream live the first Friday of each month (and some other random times, too) - 2pm Eastern. Stay Creative!

    Hi, thank you for the video. I've bought some paper clay in white and I have a project I want to do: I want to roll out the clay like cookie dough and cut it into snowflakes shapes with my cookie cutters and then make a small hole in the top of each one so when they're dry I can put a length of ribbon through each and hang them on the tree. Also, I want to paint each one a kind of brown, gingerbread color to make them look like gingerbread and "ice" each one with a white modelling paste I've got which is intended for applying to miniatures to form very realistic snow. I also want to decorate the "snow icing /frosting" with those gold or silver cachous you can buy at the supermarket. I got the idea from a fabulous bakery I go to where they're selling white - iced star cookies for Xmas decorated with silver cachous and silver ribbon through each one.. But, I've never used paper clay before. Do you think my project is possible?? If anyone out there has advice on this project please leave it for me. Thanks in advance, love from Amanda xox :-)

      Hi Amanda! I love experimenting with an idea that pops into my head. ;-) The best way to find out whether it will work is to just get a few supplies and give it a try. You might make an adjustment here or there, but I bet you will end up with some beautiful ornaments. Wishing you every success as you Stay Creative!

    Hi there! I got this brand but when i opened it after i bough it, it wasn't as smooth and soft, it was a bit drier and the more i work with it the drier it becomes so I'm not sure if the clay was just made that way or I'm supposed to do something. I currently have a small cup of water i mix into the clay bit by bit when it gets dry, but it's still harder to work with than it looks like it your video. What should i do?

    • @BarbOwenDesigns
      @BarbOwenDesigns  8 лет назад

      Once opened, Paper Clay dries out pretty quickly. I really don't know what you can do to successfully revive it. Keep trying to add water to it and use it up or pitch it and start over. Thanks for watching.

      Lapiz Lazuli Wolf roll ur clay into a log and then poke holes and fill it with water and leave for a few days so the paper clay can absorb the moisture

      Lapiz Lazuli Wolf , it also sometimes helps to add a little baby oil a few drops at a time.

    Is Creative Clay considered a better quality kind of clay compared to DAS? DAS seems to be much cheaper to purchase so I assume Creative Clay is more premium? Am I wrong to think this? Thanks

    Hi! My daughter is using my paper clay but what I noticed that it keeps cracking and is very hard and is very frustrating to work with. Is it dried out?

    • @BarbOwenDesigns
      @BarbOwenDesigns  4 года назад

      Hi Shannon. I would guess that the clay is getting dry. If it is the Paper Clay brand, some people have good success adding a small amount of water and kneading it into the clay product. When Paper Clay gets too dry, however, it's useless which is the reason I keep it vacuum-sealed in a bag. It's the only way I've found to hold it for an extended period of time. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching. Stay Creative!

    Thank you for your vid. I just bought my first Creative Paperclay but using it right out the pack was soft and sticky and ended up all over my hands. Trying to flatten it on plastic or roll out with an acrylic roller was a disaster as it just stuck and I mainly need to roll my work flat for layers! Am I doing something wrong? I'm used to working with Das clay. Thanks!

    • @BarbOwenDesigns
      @BarbOwenDesigns  6 лет назад +2

      Hi there. I haven't had that issue with Paperclay. I'd suggest looking at their website to see if they have information that might help. If you are happy with Das clay, sticking with it would be a great choice. Thanks for watching.

      Wax paper! Below and on top - use your roller over the wax paper! It will peel right off.

    Can I cover glass with this? And lots of texture? I'm used to working with polymer clay, but the price of premo is a little much for larger projects....I'm confused about why firing is needed for some paper clay, but not for others ....and lastly, how durable if you were going to possibly sell some pieces?

    • @BarbOwenDesigns
      @BarbOwenDesigns  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Pamela. I'm afraid that I don't have definitive answers to your questions. I would check the manufacturer's websites and contact them for more information. Regarding firing of paper clay . . . all Paper Clay that I've ever used has been air dried, so I don't have an answer for that. Dollmakers I've known in the past who created faces with Paper Clay sold their work. I would think that they had done extensive testing regarding durability before doing so. Wishing you every success. Stay Creative!

    Barb, I have a question for you about this type of clay, if it is dropped, will it break/shatter/turn into dust, please reply, thanks

    • @BarbOwenDesigns
      @BarbOwenDesigns  7 лет назад +1

      I've not done extensive testing with this clay so I'm not sure that i can fully answer your question. In reality, it's paper and very light weight when dry. If the pieces are small or thin, I'm sure it could break or shatter if dropped. It's a very nice clay, however, for what I do. Thanks for watching. Stay Creative!

    • @MichaelChylinski
      @MichaelChylinski 5 лет назад

      Sackajui it’s very light, so I would say it depends on how you used it. If it’s thin and hollow I would say it can crack. It feels more like more dense styrofoam than dirt clay.

    can i mix paper clay with water?
    love your channel :)

    • @BarbOwenDesigns
      @BarbOwenDesigns  8 лет назад

      +Ms.Kawaii Gaming I'm not sure what you mean by mixing paper clay with water. You can use a damp brush or a dampened finger to smooth the surface of the clay. If the clay becomes completely hardened, I'm not sure that anything will resurrect it. If it's still malleable, but getting dry, I think that kneading a small amount of water into it might help it. Hope that helps. Stay Creative and thanks for watching!
