- Steering Wheel Holder CRASHES Semi on Concrete Pole. Yet another video with flip flop wearing steering wheel holders get themselves in these crazy yet easily avoidable situations. He took "swing wide, it's a trailer" to a whole new level and ended up so entangled with this yellow pole, that even my dad was impressed.
It's hard to see from the footage, but he drove his truck at an angle that took out his diesel tank, front left fender, air lines and ended up wedged vertically between the axles. Winching it forward or backward was literally impossible. The only way to do it was a direct vertical lift. Alex and Dave got to work quick, along with my father and Java Joe. They first split the tractor from trailer, then swung the trailer to set directly onto our own tractor.
From there, Dave and Alex rigged to do a clean vertical lift to avoid any further damage from the wedged pole. The next big issue was the huge spill of almost 100 gallons of diesel. Thankfully Mr. C's Tow (who gave us this job) was able to assist with tons of absorbent and cleanup assistance. With teamwork, both crews worked quick to get this scene clean and cleared.
This was definitely one of those jobs that "looks" easy at first glance, but in reality needs a ton of delicate care and work, not brute force. What did you guys think of all the teamwork?

Alex and Dave are the stars of the show, with Joe as comedic support! lol
I'm quite sure dad can easily retire.
BUT he loves the work so much, he keeps on doing it.
And We Love Him!
I knew a guy that used to hire truck drivers saying that they were a dime a dozen. His trucks were as often either in the shop or in a ditch.
He never totally understood that the problem was in his bathroom mirror every morning. Sigh!
Another professional job very well executed guys. Thank God at least you guys are diligent and professional in each step of your recoveries. I couldn't imagine the carnage out there if Pepe's went with the lowest cost option in regards to hiring drivers. Stay safe and healthy guys.
And the driver was wearing flip-flops!😂 probably see him on bone head trucke😂
Are these companies really saving money hiring incompetent yo-yo's? Seems like the fines, insurance and repairs alone would justify paying a driver a living wage.
love your humor, what a difference between a professional driver and a "steering wheel holder!!"
I really appreciate the cleanliness of your trucks and the organization too, job well done by experienced towing people like yourselves!
Steering Wheel Holder sound about right for some.🤣🤣
It took me a few minutes before I got it. Appropriate description. Scary thinking what is on the road.
Alex does another GREAT job, he is always calm & no shouting, does it very smoothly. Watching from Calgary, Canada
Alex takes the last coffee to only see if someone else wants it and gives it away!! What a class act!! What a brotherhood!!
It was cold and Joe's not fussy. 😂😂
@@colinl9018it was actually warm lol 🤣
@@AlexanderHernandez088 "Yah, i know!" 😂
I have always been impressed with how organized and clean all your rigs are, not only makes the jobs go smoothly but its such a professional appearance. Awesome of your Dad to bring Dave, Alex and himself breakfast and coffee, always great to see him on job sites.
Pays to pay, for good workers ❤
Another job well done 👏
Everyone had to get to work and park so they could stand around and watch all the good work y’all did!
The maharajahs of USA road transport strike again 🤣🤣🤣🤣Really enjoyed the banter between Dave, Alex and Joe, it made the job seem so easy. Thanks guys...👏👏👏👏
That steel post did what it was supposed to do. Stopped the truck from driving on the guys lawn... haha
Nice to see your Dad smile and even laugh.
What a number that driver did on that nice Volvo truck. Beautiful and professional recovery job guys. Thanks for the video.
Nice Volvo? They're plastic throw away trucks.. lol
Good to see Papa Joe. Great video & recovery, guys!!!
I was dying to make smart-ass jokes about how many vatos does it take to siphon fuel, but you guys actually did good. Impressive recovery.
Yeah, there's been a trend of more and more drivers on the road from eastern europe and the middle east on our roads with little to no training, almost no english, and not a lot of respect for our laws.
The Raj Patrol have No Respect for laws or anybody else.
The DOT requires that Commercial Drivers Read and Speak English. Too bad it isn't enforced. I'm hearing about these "steering wheel holders" buying licenses "illegally", even running on someone eases license to avoid the HOS rule.
"Flip flop wearing steering wheel holder", LMAO! Unbelievable ..
It’s so true. The whole time I was watching this I was wondering where in the heck they were planning to drive… could have easily made that turn
Alex, Dave and crew, even though it's a cliche, team work really does make the dream work! Congrats to all involved!
Flip flop wheel holder strikes again
Swing wide! It is a freakin trailer.
SHAME ON THE MESS....
Funny how the drivers are so concerned even though they committed a big clean up. sandals and all. Good job Alex and Dave and papi .😂
Man I haul produce all up and down California pretty standard monotonous work been watching your videos for a few months now and I have to admit this job while dangerous and highly technical looks fun as hell! I’m relocating to so cal in a few months might have to reach out to Pepe’s and see if they are hiring and willing to train a complete rookie lol! Keep up the bad ass work fellas! Appreciate what you do!
Alex you are the consummate professional Big Flipper is so organized, clean you are always calmvand you explain to everyone what you are doing love watching you work.
Alex is awesome but, anytime Dave, The Boss and Joe show up, you KNOW it's going to be a good video!! You all be safe out there!
Alex Dave and Dad another job made to look easy, you guys are the best and enjoy your work! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
Good evening from Pawtucket Rhode Island! Love your videos you guys are awesome 👏🏿 at what you do true professionals and funny! Bless
Great to see all the guys working together. Good one.
Awesome video Alex you've had some interesting recoveries , winch outs and other interesting calls and you make it look so easy
Another job well done by team with Alex leading the charge. He is so patient and professional no matter the situation.
It is a pleasure to watch you guys work.
You are never grumpy, you are always having fun and laughing.
Steering wheel holder 😂 the disrespect lmao
Respect is earned or lost.
This was a really interesting job. Watching Dave and Alex working in unison to swing the trailer and tractor around for easy hook up was like a dance. I wish I could of heard the big Daddy talking he seemed to be very entertaining. I wonder how long insurance companies will continue to pay for bad drivers in these low-ball companies. The recovery costs will cut into profits a lot. Thanks for the video Josh. Enjoy the new addition to your family. Bruce the Boomer
Hey Kelley, did you get a channel membership paused email also, or am I the only one for some dumb yt reason unbeknownst to anyone but the ai overlords…
@@Ricochet845 me too
@@kelleyunofficial3269 ok cool, was bugging out for a bit there lol. Thank you
Sweet content as usual, Alex is a Badass Rotator Operator
Thank you sir
What a great crew!😇
Teamwork !!!Great job guys
Love the title
Yep😂😂😂
So good to see the teams handle the rigs with care to avoid further damage. Drivers get their pride damaged enough when they do careless things. Good teamwork from friendly competitors who know the value of respect for fellow tow operators.
Edit: That short post is actually a safety hazard to vehicles and pedestrians. It should be higher up and painted so it stands out.
And you all add fun & laughter to every job. Nice of Alex to give his coffee to Java Joe.
Grampa Shredder moving like a young man this morning. Great teamwork gentlemen.
Great parking job there. Even better the extraction with live power lines to watch out for right in the middle of the work area. Teamwork to get it done in a safe way, and only a few tons of kitty litter needed to fix the leaks, and using the punctured tank to dispose of the litter as well, doing a double job in getting it off scene, and keeping any residual in the tank bound up. One seriously strong pole though, the ground gave way, but not that bollard. Bit of concrete and it will be back on duty again soon enough.
Not too much damage to the rig though, missed all the really expensive parts, though Volvo will be making a nice bit off the spares needed to fix it.
I've said it before and I'll say it again... Alex is a rockstar.
Joe, Alex, Dave and their crews, it just doesn’t get any better!!! Getting the job done very professionally, having some good laughs, and not a lot of bragging chatter. A pleasure to watch this video, This is your dream team, Josh. Hope you and your new baby and wife are all doing well.
Just like yesterday’s video, these companies hire them with little or no training That one on the off ramp THERE WAS A BIG SIGN THAT SAID NO SEMIS and he kept on going!!Those jerks are giving the good drivers a bad name.
I don’t believe many drivers can speak English or read Engrish !
@@charlesroer972nope, the majority of these flip floppers do not speak or understand the English language. Ridiculous!
A classic example of well trained staff, a great working environment and proper equipment all coming together to make a difficult job look easy. What an amazing team and company.
Smooth recovery Alex, Dave, Dad and Joe! Along with the great help from the other tow friends, you all did a great and easy going job. Stay safe out there.
This seems appropriate in this moment: "The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys?" Wonderful channle, Pepe! Thanks.
Nice job guys,as always.
nice work guys
As a regular viewer i find it amazing so much can go wrong with an artic.peace to all the crew..aw man dad was on form holy smoke :) oh ho ALEX said *yer i know * yikes
Another great job, Alex and Dave, and others.!
Don't forget to spill your coffee Joe...😂☕
Love the team work Putting it together with a word spoken
Your laugh just cracks me up. Love it. Love your channel!!!!!
The filming is so amazing, it's like we are standing right next to you! Amazing work, both the recovery and the videography! Really great work.
There's a load in there! LOL! Your description says it all! Did I hear you say the guy asked why you just didn't back it up? OMG!😂
I thought that. At 13 mins they suddenly worried about the load. Less concern earlier in their day.
@@45KevinR So worried about the load, it has gone to storage until recovery fee $$$ paid. Hope the fridge lasts long enough.
BTW, you guys work well together, real professionals!
Safety sandals 😂 and poor Joe the coffee jokes never get old
Go Go Gadget Alex ❤🤓🙋♂️❤👍
Impressive how neat & organized your truck is! I’m a great believer in organization.
I worked for a trucking company was replaced by a foreign driver his first run out wrecked 5 cars not a mile away from the yard what made it funny was me and the other driver that was replaced were in the yard at the time it happened nice to laugh at the company owner trying to explain what happened and us laughing across the road 😂
Back in 2021, I went back to being a OO, the company I was driving for, put an untrained driver in the W9 I was driving, with in no time, the company had to replace a drive axle, hood, motor and trans, one of the truck bosses told me, he wished I’d have stayed in the truck
You know, I learned so much from watching you guys! Excellent work, excellent teamwork! Ya I know!!😄😄😄😄😄😄
Awesome teamwork.
Steering Wheel Holder lmfao... Took me a few to get it. Too funny
very polished job, Alex, Dave and crew!!!👌👌👌👌👌
WOW ! They really thought they was going to just pull in that driveway?!!
He did pull in, just did not pull through. Sort of got hung up on the turn for some reason.
@@SeanBZA 😂🤔
Yeah. He had power on too, for the distance and damage that was done. My guess is just swung it in non-stop without really looking at the entrance first.
@@IceColdGeico Wrong angle as well, just a complete cluster.
Josh & Alex, I absolutely love watching you guys work, so much fun, you both rock! Power lines = arch nemesis. This is the way, twin rotators working in tandom, rotating that semi around like a boss, special forces baby! lol Hey, jet-liner planes have a technology, that when you flip a switch, you can transfer fuel from one tank, to the other, in the event of a weight imbalance. It would be neat if Semi-trucks could do that, incase they got a punctured tank. Manufactures should really get on that!
And we share the road with these fools!!!!!! Love the videos and Pepe's Towing.
Nice to see you all enjoy your work…
Kudos. You do great work. Alex rocks.
It’s good you let the old man play with the controls. That means a lot to us old timers. ❤❤❤❤
11:06 BC rules - Cali would be similar. Look where that transformer is located. High voltages above and lower voltage below.
Above the transformer is two sets of conductors. The top set have more insulators and are spaced further apart on two sets of cross trees one above the other. They are the highest voltage conductors in this particular pole line set up. Transmission lines.
Below them is that second set of conductors, 3, side by each on the same cross tree located above the transformer. They too are also high voltage. Just not as high as the ones on the top. It's an additional high voltage circuit for local distribution to these warehouses. Two high voltage powerlines on one pole line. The double cross trees on the second set are a red flag.
The single cross tree below the second set above the transformer have the conductors and fuses on them protecting the transformer on the high voltage side.
Fourth from the top (below the transformer) would be the bare or white wire (neutral) affixed to a white insulator immediately followed by perhaps two or three insulated low voltage conductors on dark insulators immediately below the bare wire within this low voltage grouping if mounted on the pole. Those are the lower voltage conductors servicing buildings or signs or whatnots (in this case street lights) In this case they are mounted on a cross tree with two conductors on one side of it @ 21:19. These wires are fed from the low voltage side of the tiny transformer and the neutral wire mentioned above. There could even be a second set below that in some cases. All that would be located below the transformer. Low(er) voltage insulated conductors.
Below that was the street lighting fed from the wiring above it.
And the last wire on that pole above the ground over the driveway was the Messenger wire bonding all the poles together and all the non current carrying parts and every few poles connected to a plate located under the bottom of the pole ( or perhaps a rod). Should be no current carrying but there is no way for you to know that so still wise to stay away from it.
If they were there (which they aren't) 5 feet lower again below the secondary low voltage wires below the transformer and the messenger wire are the cable and tel conductors located in the sets closest to the ground. They would still be 5.5 metres above that driveway though.
The pole on the other side of the driveway also has a lot of electrical gear on it hence the double and single cross trees again.
There could be high voltage disconnects on some poles but the high voltage parts are always way up above that bare bond wire running between the pole line poles. There could also be underground drops coming down the poles as well but those wires will be insulated and inside covers called pilasters embedded in concrete at the bottom of the poles they come down on. They are not the arcing hazard of the bare high voltage wires you are concerned about unless they have been damaged by something like a vehicle running into them for example. Again you never know.
Good eye Alex analyzing all the various configurations that could be up there that could weld your truck to the ground. Every pole is different. Contact your local experts for more information. I bet the POCO has a print out of common pole configurations including tables of maximum approach distances to stay out of for operators such as yourself.
Quite the job for a simple miss. Big bill on this one. Good to see so many of you working together like the well oiled team you are.
Nice job Alex and crew y'all have done see everyone on the next one God bless my friends stay safe
I haven’t worked on trucks for 20 years. When you guys took off the covers for the pull hooks it reminded 😅me ave my model car days. I think they were made ave heaver material.
Great crack there Alex with Joe and Dave....good recovery guys...Stay safe and catch you on the next one
Alex and Dave save the flip flop driver after he destroys his truck and gas tank. Another great job by Pepes towing company.
What's up Alex, first and foremost that someone said that Alex and Dave are the show and Joe is the comedic support,I guess he didn't see Dave alone on his first job with his sidekick,on the night job, rated C he should know it's THE THREE AMIGOS SHOW.
Great team work. It must be wonderful to work with such a great group of professionals.
Always love the videos that you and the team put out, very professional and informative. Have you considered a T-shirt with Alex's go-to saying "What happened" ?
Another great job ty
I'm a new driver with 2 years exp and my goal everyday is to be safe! These "steering wheel holders" give the whole trucking industry a bad name. I also wanted to give props to the yellow pole for saving that Jeep's life! It did it's job!
You guys are great. You even made mention on the channel 9 news the other night.
Great content, sir. Love your channel. Just fascinating!
Hey pop great to see you
Hey now there's my papi chulo 🌹 JOE ❤️ by the guys awesome job looking fine papi chulo JOE
Another fine job!!
The whole crew did a great job.
We also have steering wheel holders in Australia... terrible!
There are plenty of steering wheel holders in the world, the problem with many vehicles is an interface one. The interface between the rear of the seat and the steering wheel. ! Thanks for the video,
Great Work all around guys!!
What an idiot-ought to take his license right there and just make him walk wheever he is going.
Who says he got one in the first place?
He’s busy tell how to do it Yeah I know ! Ha
He ain’t driving very far with that leaking fuel tank
@@glennjukes5581 they work for nothing. Thats how they get the jobs.
lovely to see Joe and Dad in there and job well done guys...and Joe got a coffee...LOL

Alex was a nut on this episode! 😂
darn fine job there guys! That was nice and different to the norm and one to exercise the old grey matter for sure! feel sorry for the driver / company for that bill!
You're good at your craft.
I'm the same wayou never stop learning
Truck is very organized and neat.
That's the way I roll
I'm really enjoying this channel
You guys make look to easy lol😅😅 experience means alot!!!
Whoa😮Sliding Wheel Left to Right !
That initial lift under the high tension power lines was risky!! getting close to those can create a circuit to ground ZAPPP! ⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡I knew a guy years ago who copped a full load when a crane came close to lines and jumped to him as he was near the cranes hook.
Life would be a lot easier if truck drivers would learn early on that the Bollard Always Wins.
Also, the hum from that passing freight train ... you can almost FEEL the power of the passing railcars ....
