I feel bad for mary ...After spending time with Sheldon in Germany, Mary returned with a changed attitude. She realized her other two children had become so responsible, and she stopped babying Sheldon. Her relationship with George Sr. was at its best. As a viewer, I was so happy to see a change in
Missy becomes dumb afterward George dies and Sheldon leaves though. Remember, Georgie said that in the future. Still hurts though
In TBBT, when Howard lost his mom, Sheldon told him that when he lost his own father, he had no friends to help him overcome that loss. In Young Sheldon, we see that when the family recieves the news, Mary, Connie and Missy embrace each other, but Sheldon is left to deal with that all alone. Even in the promo for Episodes 13 & 14, Georgie is comforting Missy in the church, but Sheldon is sitting all alone.
I think because they thought Sheldon doesn't want a physical touch like hugs or something.
I like how realistic they kept it. A sudden/accidental death happens exactly like this. And probably a lot of us have seen it.
You see a person for the last time, in a very regular way, without having any idea in your wildest dreams that it's last. And suddenly the news comes.
The futility, mortality and uncertainty of life comes crashing down on us..
You are so correct. My Dad died at work just before I was to meet him for lunch. My Uncle Willard went for an appointment to see his cardiologist. The doctor said he was doing just fine, so my uncle stopped on the way home to get the oil changed in his car. He went to the waiting room to read the magazines. When the car was finished the cashier took my uncle his keys and bill and found him taking a nap. The cashier tried to wake him but he was dead. His heart had stopped. Movies and TV shows always like to show the big death scene in which a dozen people are in the room saying goodbye while the dying subject reassures them all----one by one, but most deaths are private affairs. My Uncle Gene woke up feeling hot, and he asked my Aunt to get him a wet cloth to put on his head. She was not gone five minutes. When she came back his eyes were open. He was dead. Elvis and Prince had been dead for hours before they were discovered.

My dad was gone just like this , as a doctor still trying to figure out why, still hate the thought for not being there for him
Our mom passed away in January 2024. I found myself watching re-runs of Young Sheldon on the CW network to remind me of her. I did not get into season 7 right away but binged it on Parmamount+ over the past few weeks.
Even though we all knew the end was coming for my mom, it was still hard to process, just like knowing the end was coming for George Cooper's character in Young Sheldon. Just like George Cooper's death, none of my mom's children were in the room when she passed. My eldest sister called to let me know she found mom gone and her hands were praying.
I am not sure if I will watch the George and Mandy spin off. But somewhere my mom and sis are looking down on me and touching me with the ending of this show, and it is fitting for me to end this with the death of George.
I’m sorry for your loss
May she rest in peace
I do like the picture. Side note, I am remembering of my aunt's funeral that was a couple of years ago. She had very little photos of her. HATED photo taken. I had to help find one for a pamphlet. Take photos, guys. It really is important for family members, in general.
His death means more when its off screen which explains why the family fell apart after each had their own grief and guilt they struggled to handle it.
Young Sheldon let George die up to the Audience Imagination. No writer could write a story so heart wrenching the one I am going through. My Mother died last April 14 from heart failure. This story of George's passing will complete the heart ache.
"You went away to collage after dad died. Who do you think took care of everything." Present Georgie Cooper.
You mean present georgie
@@ginger325 Oh yes sorry that's my mistake, I meant present Georgie. Thank you for catching that!
In big bang theory it says that Sheldon goes to Germany after George dies
@@DiiVA312 No Sheldon moves to California to start Caltech after his father dies
I can't believe it's been 7 years
That was the best explanation I have ever heard
Why in the world would it be a good idea to see him have a heart attack on camera and die? This was the best way to handle it, also; this is from Sheldon's point of view.
George peaked in his relationship and his career and then, he was gone :(
It's a standard saying in the theatre -- never kill someone or have them die onstage.
It actually does a decent job of explaining her part in TBBT. I always thought the episode where Sheldon catches her having sex, she says they should move to the kitchen so they can sit on a surface she hasn’t had sex on. That didn’t really jive with her personality as I watched YS, but I can now see the path it took for her to get there.
He actually died mid intro that’s why they did the funeral
Part of me wishes they'd do a soft reboot of TBBT with Iain continuing their role as Sheldon Cooper
It hits like a truck. It was so painful. The entire episode was so tough to watch, the were all happy, and in such a great place.
They could have done it after the family portrait 😭😭😭.
7 whole years wow this hurts alot
It seemed to me that the acting of young Reagan revord in that final scene was just incredible almost to the point where I don't think she was actually acting I think she was actually in real distress over how the scene was playing out
Im mad that this is not on Netflix.
Try movie 7 with adblockers
Its on amazon prime
prime is better
“It’s plot” isn’t wrong
this is a W vid, really took a deep dive into the info on why they did george death off screen
I feel like they made him die like that to catch us of guard no heartfelt goodbye no preparing for the worst just any normal conversation to regret and caught everyone off guard because we all knew he was going to die but never knew when which is even more heartbreaking when you realize this is the happiest they've ever been Mary finally stopped neglecting and babying her kids her marriage was at an all time high George was going to coach Rice Georgie was happy with CeCe Sheldon was going to CalTech and Missy was exited about moving
He actually die I real life
I thought the entire scene was very well done. The only thing that will truly make it more realistic is if they make some notion to Missy regretting taking the bus that morning in the next episode.
Missy should have taken that final ride, that morning. It's Always the littlest moments that mean the most. Don't be so quick to blow somebody you love, off. You never know when their time is going to be up. Let go of that little grudge you're holding against them. Let go of those petty feelings that keep you from loving those near and dear. Put away the ego for those you hold close, Cause when it's time for them to go, you'll be at your most regrettable. you'll wish you spent more time with them or weren't as angry at them. as the old adage goes, Let go and let God.
It's a well made scene. Powerful and sad. Why are there people who moan, that his death is off-screen ??? 🙄
What do they expect when we didnt even show howards mom die
Iain didn't recreate his position properly. The hand on his face is in a different place.
But still a great pic.
it's still a sitcom, dealing with dead is a hard topic lready, but watching someone die?
They robbed George of the scene of his death
No, they made the death hyper realistic. This is how it plays out in the real world. Why would you even want to watch him have a heart attack on screen?
I have this bad habit of not finishing a good series’ ending. In my mind I just like to leave things how they were, just like Sheldon.
They built George Sr.’s character so well, how he took Missy on daddy daughter date, and how he protected her during the tornado… how he said “I’m proud of you son” to Sheldon and most importantly way of handling and supporting George Jr. when he told him about the pregnancy.
Last time I cried for a TV dad was for Jack from This Is Us.
Mary gets a lot of hate for the way she babyed Sheldon but I feel most sad for her.
This was definitely one of the best TV shows in a long time, I’m gonna miss it ❤🩹
I think he got into a car crash getting a heart attack
No he just had a heart attack at his training
Im glad they didn't show his death im fine with a off screen death......
I don’t think the show stated where George sr had surgery!
Well that was boring
Oh I watch this occasionally but have ADHD. I get confused as to the characters. I thought George was the eldest son and cried. Oh how I rejoiced to find it was the father. Praise the Lord
Sheldon refused any comfort from his family and started packing for Cal Tech. He was a horrible son and a selfish person.
R u stupid
He was broken from his father's death and was trying to distract himself
TF was he supposed to do? Not go? You stupid?
