That's a nice unit. Grand marquis is a working man's town car
I worked at Osman Lincoln Mercury in Melbourne Florida 2001-2003 and sold hundreds of these. GS, LS, Custom Tops you name it. It was and still is the best bang for the buck. many bought these over the new Town car because they did not like the rounded town car revamp at the time. Great times, great cars great people.
What is the reason that made them neglect the Panther platforms in terms of updating the engine, automatic transmission, an advanced suspension system, and some modern technologies, as Toyota did with the Lexus ls and Mercedes with the S and E-class and BMW 7-class, Audi and Infiniti??? Because it doesn't make sense for them to update the Ford Expedition, Explorer, Mustang, Taurus, F150, Focus, Mendeo, Continental, Edge, Fusion, and Ranger. And then they neglect the Panther platforms. It doesn't make sense for them to update all Ford cars except for the Crown Vic, Marquis, and Town Car. Why did they make these cars die? From 1991 - 2011 with the same 4.6L engine and transmission!!! Why did they kill the symbol of American sedans?
I love my Mercury Grand Marquis "Park Lane" Edition. I've bought 6 "Park Lane" Editions over the last 27 years. Always one "elderly" owner with low miles. Beautiful comfortable trouble-free cars. I love them.
Neil, I have a 2007 TownCar but I’m wondering what is the true difference between a Grand Marquis and a TownCar? My understanding it’s just some materials and a few features. In Canada, where I live…TownCars are getting more scarce and would consider a Grand Marquis if it’d run out of availability from TownCars.
thats how I like to buy them too
Hey Anthony & Papa Bear, this Mercury in very nice & very well equipped!!! To me it's a junior Town Car & probably rides like one. It's priced right & I'm sure that it will sell quickly!!! Thanks for sharing this fun video!!! 👍👍🙂
Anthony, I am an old guy and love your videos. I traded in my 2004 Town Car about 5 years ago and have regretted it since. I have a neighbor who has a Grand Marquis, but it isn't nearly as nice as this one.
The intake manifold gasket let go on my 97 Town Car two years ago. I use the car everyday for work, and mostly drive on the highway. I don't remember the exact mileage, but right now it has 135k miles on it. One of the best thing's about following your site is looking at all of car's you've sold over the year's. I was just looking at the 84 Olds Torando Brougham and the 84 Buick Electra Park Avenue. I think you're worthy of the saying. " The man of the hour, the man with the power, too sweet to be sour".
Well the manifold's were made of plastic on those I upgraded my 98 town car to an aluminum intake but an aluminum intake manifold
Hey an intake manifold and gaskets aftermarket only a couple hundred bucks..fix it and get some more miles...
You can buy a car from Anthony and know you've been told everything. Good deal. Sure do wish Ford woulda put a 5.8 in the Panther platform. But at least that 4.6 is dead reliable. Pretty hard to find a car that clean for 6k.
They did in it was an option for 80/90s police packaged crown victorias
The hardest Panther platform car to find is a non modified 2003-04 Mercury Marauder.
My Uncle used to visit Schilling Lincoln Mercury dealership in downtown Memphis TN and they had Mercurys and Lincolns in every unique way until they closed operations. They were the largest Lincoln Mercury dealership in the Southeast United States and all the new cars were on the second floor in the indoor lot behind the showroom.
nice
My father bought from that dealership. They had the best showroom for presentation. Had on of the first Mark 3 in the US.
What a beautiful car!!! Rare limited trim...they have the center arm rest storage!!
Also the very rare for 2001 wooden steering wheel with the Redundant audio and climate controls...this steering wheel was a late availability option for 2001s LS trims...
Is the wood in the Mercury Marquis real ??? I'm afraid it's plastic
@@jehadhjaya2767 yes, the wood on the steering wheel is actual real wood.... all the rest isn't unless you're in a designer series 2006 or 07 Town Cat or the 25th Anniversary Town Car...
Anthony , yes ,you are correct on model's being unique . I am an autophile .Back in 2000 , few people had monies to buy one of those units. They bought lots of GSs . Some did not nor were ready for digital anything. NICE car . You have teased me well. thanks Bill
Can't wait to buy a car from you some day I love land yachts beautiful car as usual
Man I love the HPP wheels.
Once upon a time I had a 2001 LSE it was beautiful then out of nowhere a giant evil buck decided to jump in front of me while doing 60-65 mph. RIP LSE.
Ahh, the giant evil buck effect...it proved to be the last straw for my last Cadillac, a '94 non-Brougham Fleetwood. Considering the issues I was having with that car which made it less than pleasant (or practical) to live with it was almost merciful. After being totaled, I said to myself "why don't you snag a decent '95-'97 Town Car?" And I did.
@@telebob5983 what a coincidence, cause I upgraded to a TC ultimate after the LSE.
@@danielplowright5701 Hmm, do I see a pattern emerging here? The '97 Signature TC was one of two Lincolns of mine that met their end due to intake manifold issues. Currently have an '04 Signature with limo rear brakes, a 3.27 rear and 135K.
Hey Anthony,
So glad that you finally got the title for this car after all this time. If I wasn’t in such a hurry to get another car, I would have waited for her. We won’t see another one like this one guys. I had the opportunity to see it a few weeks ago, and you will NOT find another one like this perfect unit. You’ll never see one like this again. They are getting more and more rare as time goes on. Now’s the time to invest in her!!
Really appreciate the transparency and honesty about all your vehicles for sale Anthony 👍🏼
U can spray the window jam edge with silicone, the windows will get moving better.
I truly appreciate your transparency
That car is in great shape It's also a pretty fair price for the way the market is now I mean it's difficult to find any low mileage car for less than $6000 now
I just picked up my 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis with 53,000 on it for $2,800. It was also a Florida car
I wish I I was a lot closer to you cause you have the best cars!
I love that Florida born car, love the color combination and that interior!! Keep up the great work Anthony and Papa Bear!!
Wow Good times for me to remember those days
Two years ago, bought an 03 LS with a little over 100K miles from a retiring coworker. it's white with the same cloth top, but in navy blue. I don't have the digital instrument cluster, the BBS style wheels, nor do i have the wooden steering wheel. everything else, however, is the same. I picked it up for $1000, as a starter car for my newly licensed son. He had to pry the keys from me because the car rides so comfortably. Oh, I almost forgot to mention how rock-solid reliable it's been.
8 cylinders consume a lot of fuel
@@ghal8352 I'd rather pay for the extra fuel that it burns than get a second mortgage to buy any new car. Besides, its fuel economy improves considerably with highway driving.
@@tony64t Your opinion is on my head' for me personally' the pest small 4-cylinder engine cars' so that it is possible to work in Uber or deliver orders
My uncle had a 90's grand marquis he loved it and it drove like a dream. I like this car but would prefer the lincoln towncar.
If people were transparent like you are when selling a car people would have grand experiences. I watched this video with great interest. I have never heard of a Mercury Grand Marquis LS Limited. It must have been a special trim level. You are right it is loaded like a Lincoln Town Car. People do not realize the Grand Marquis has been like that for years. The car has a lot of features for the money. The only thing I did not like were the headlights. Those one headlight on each of the grille headlight designs on cars like this make me cringe because why would they put a economy car headlight design on cars like this. Town Car had it, and I can name many new cars that have it too. I like the headlight design on the 1993-1996 better. I like the wheels, the instrumentation panel, the seats, and the steering wheel controls. Thank you for sharing.
Still better condition than 80% of cars I see for sale & on the road! 💯
Info is so good, wish everybody who sold a car was this transparent that’s all a buyer is ever looking for. Janky do thanky love the videos
6 k not bad at all
Dude I want to do business with you. You are a salt of the Earth kind of person! Thank you for being you 🤠
Hello Anthony my Toyota Camry XLE does that with the climate control it does it till it gets to the desired temperature and gradually cuts the Fan speed down on it's own. Nice Panther
Im gonna keep an eye out on your upcoming town cars. I have one myself now my cousin and brother wants one
No Kidding - you have a Limited package!? Extra rare. It's close to fully optioned, but not 100%. Like you said, missing the HPP package. Limited model just had Special floor mats, stitching on the leather, and armrests that open.
Some dry silicone (key) spray from 3M on the window track would help that window out.
A DIY guy could easily take care of some of the quibbles with ease. Excellent canvas if someone wants to take it to the next level.
The interior looks worn for 54K miles. Have you verified the mileage ?
It’s clean for sure…
love this generation of marquis
One of the most beautiful cars I have owned and I still keep from 2005 until now Grand Marquis 98 Gold🌸❤️👍🏻
Spray silicone spray around rubber window tracks and that window will fly up and down. P.s.a.- do not use wd-40 around window track because rubber becomes soft- degrades and binds up. I'm sure there is a billion videos on this subject but just adding my 2 cents.
Wish it was a regular hardtop. Not a fan of that rag color & the strip of bolts holding it on. Also never understood the "spoilers" on the American land yachts.
Totally agree but what spoiler? Are you talking about the hideous ghetto trunk rack?
Being a hasty person isn’t always a good thing. I passed up on this beautiful Mercury because I wanted another car yesterday. You won’t find another one like this one. Don’t make the same mistake that I did. Grab it before it’s gone. For short money, you’ll be driving this gorgeous Mercury for many years to come!!
2002 Mercury Grand Marquis Diamond Edition with 122K miles just sold in Asheville, NC for $3,800. Pristine condition.Just to level set.
A little trick on the slow windows. Put a little wd-40 on the tracks! (on the felt grooves) Works every time!
Great looking and great riding car!
Really elegant color combo. The cloth top gives the roof line a leaner look.
Fantastic.
What was the roof prior to the aftermarket vinyl roof in other words how did it come from the factory???
It would have a body color painted roof - it would have been ordered that way knowing that it was going to have stayfast canvas top installed locally.
@@Thomas63r2 Oh ok, gotcha.
I love that color car, I actually had one in that color, it was a 2002, GS model and came with leather seats and the mercury emblem stitched on the front seats
Ignore the other comment below. Fantastic deal.⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
I'll trade you. My Crown Victoria rocks. It does need a bit of bodywork, but it drives fine and has under 100,000 miles. It will really rock your head back. I'll try to figure out how to put it on RUclips. Mark
Those climate control thumb wheels wear out. I replaced one on my Marauder. I had another climate control unit and just replaced it. It could be the blower control module too....Don't get an after market one either.......
If I were going on a long road trip, that one of the cars I'd like to be in !
That interior is a much better design than the same year Town Car
You are really a genius. Everyone could have a Panther FoMoCo model....
Looks factory fresh to me.
Nice ride Anthony . Hello PA PA Bear 🐻
WOW! I can't stand Fords, but I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS CAR!
I want a trunk rack for my MGM so bad
Really like that car. I know you're a big lincoln guy, but I think this is a really nice car. This year of Marquis has in my opinion the nicest grill. I love that grill way nicer then newer models.
You’re right about the intake manifold. The new owner should change it. Thanks for an honest review of a pretty nice car at a great price.
nice, if I needed another car this one would be it!
My 2007 TownCar just had the lower control arm replaced at 125k kms. Those are the type of things that needs to be worked on, just maintenance.
Hey Anthony, I know you mess with alot of Lincolns! You have any radios off of 97 youd get rid of?
Where do you buy your white wall tires? I have an '02 Grand Marquis with the Michelin Symmetry tires and I need to replace them but I want white walls and I can't find them.
Btw...what does the badging say on the cloth top behind each of the rear doors
Beautiful ride..i.owned an 01...definitely change the plastic intake ..doesn't matter how you drive...they will definitely crack with time
Great lookin car! I've owned 3 of these & loved them
Looks like a great car. Oil change isn’t a time issue or expense. Drive it after immediately doing a Lube oil and filter . Do the ball joints and shocks in a short month or so , and this should give many years of service . No worries on no air suspension; it’s less to get repaired later. If it handles right then great but sway bars can be added. It’s not a race car , just a high quality family sedan. Good looking grampa car .
😅
Almost a town car
I'm very interested in this car, if you have any other like this please let me know.
Nice looking car. Great price
whoops just watched to end might need resistor. your transparency is your future . Plus I like you so I have to meet you. A ride to NH . much love from one car guy to another , LOL
Beautiful car
Dude this car is from by me! That place is in commack. I wanna bring it back home to Long Island. Do you know if it lived on LI it's whole life?
Spruce Green with Lt. Parchment interior (only available with the factory Limited package), Ultimate & Handling packages.
Anthony is this still available
And what do the emblems behind the back door windows say
I'm definitely interested. Just your a long ways from South GA. For it to be worth the shipping to get it .
Hello guys @speacialty motor cars I just caught this video about the 2001 rare trim, but seeing your previous videos I know I subscribed to your channel before, but I thought your channel had a different name? Just asking because I would like to catch a vehicle within my price range from you guys one day how much for the delivery charge when someone from out of state buys a car from you guys? Thanks
A nice Grand Marquis! I'm not a huge fan of that color top, if it had a black top (like my 95 Cartier had) it would be better. I do like the olive color of the paint. The dash reminds me of the 95-97 Town Cars which I always liked. That car should sell pretty quick!!
Nice ride looking to replace my 1992 signature town car that was totaled had only 56,000 miles on it.. you wouldn't have any in your inventory would you?
Do you offer shipping to Germany ?
Ole' school car when you see luggage rack bolted to trunk...
Approximately, how much would it cost to ship it to West Hollywood,CA?
I am very interested in getting a car from you, I love your channel, your work, your honesty! Congratulations!
I am particularly interested in your 91 Cadillacs
You have any nice crown Vic’s or mercury grand marquis for around 5 at the moment
That a great deal I had a 98 town car and it was great 300k befor I got rid of it
I recently purchased a 2005 Grand Marquis with only 50,000 original miles
Is this still available and what does the emblems on the vinyl top say
I'll take it!
Is this for sale today?
Anthony that's the kind I NEED. Bret in Boston
Anthony, if you come across a LS lexus low mileage 10 yo+ or so drop me a line.
🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 *LOVE this Grand Marquis* !! *FAB price on this beautiful Mercury* !! *Rare trim with a cool color* !! *Wonderful job on this car, Papa Bear and Anthony* !! #SpecialtyMotorCars 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
Fantastic job. Very informative video 👌🏾
Jeeze the blower motor at the end 😂
Loved this car EXCEPT luggage rack. Had to keep myself from making offer. Love the panther platform. I was a bowtie until I die kinda guy, but my wife insisted on a grand marquis about 10 years ago and fell in love with these cars! Unfortunately, a huge deer put an unceremoniously end to that car. But I bought a 99 crown vic in 2013 with extremely low one owner miles and drive daily 75 miles to work. Currently it has 172,000 miles on it and drives like a champion. I am keeping my eye on a Lincoln town car from you that spent its low mile life in da south and hope to make a deal with you. About how much can I expect to pay to have it shipped to marlow, ok?
Anthony is this one still available
What color is that paint? It looks silver but also maybe light green.
If my phone is showing the right tone/hue of color that MGM is FoMoCo code FS - Spruce Green. I have a 1998 GS that is the same color. When parked in front of grass or trees it looks gray. But when there are silver or gray cars parked near it or standing alone in a gray paved parking lot it really does look green. It is a nice looking car with a super paint.....especially for an 01. I love these cars. The grille on the 98 - 2002 models reminds me of the ones from the mid to late 70's. They are easily identifiable as Mercs. I wish these had hood ornaments on them instead of the badge on the grille. One sweet ride.
Love it!
Is this still available.....and what do the badges on the vinyl top say?
Calm down Les and take your meds. Just call him up and ask what the badges say instead of leaving ten comments on one video.
@@jsciarri Thanks Archie for the advice....I would've only left 1 message but he never replied. Wasn't sure if he saw the other ones.
Besides he probably gets tired of me calling him. 😜
Does it have a clean car fax
Nice😀
Interested in buying this car if it is still available to you?
Anthony Is this car still available
Extremely nice example. But why this level of luxury on such a common car? I mean, why did they not just opt for a Town Car? Either way, the Grand Marquis is a car you can put 300k miles on it and it’s barely broken in. Just a bulletproof car. These Panthers drive so whisper quiet. I’m sure it will be a joy to drive for someone.
Are you from Philly because I’m looking for a car
