this is what RUclips is about sharing info everyone is so focused on Vloging and trying to make chump change they forgot what brought people to RUclips in the first place.
Yup. People will buy your apparel if they like you or it's top quality. Mark brings value before he brought out tons of apparel. Now you have youtubers bringing out shirts straight away....like fu man, bring some value or info first.
Love that Mark seems genuinely interested in everything Chad has to say and offer. Even with all his experience in the sport, Mark asks questions and tries to get the most out of Chad. Last night I watched Chad on Barbell Shrugged. The hosts gave him the exact opposite experience. Chad is rad end quote
I really appreciate how Powerlifters and Strongmen try to teach their method to "up and comers". They really have other peoples best interest at heart. Good, down to earth folk. God bless'em. Great video. Thanks guys.
He bulks during his hypotrophy phase which is about 16 weeks out from a meet. He has videos on this though its labelled hypertrophy instead of bulking (which go hand in hand)
So true about making changes slowly. I was training with singles on the squat for awhile and switched to doing 10 reps without a transition period. I injured my hip after a few weeks of doing 10's, even though I was going much lighter. Doing reps taxed the muscles too much and my hip, which is the weak link of my squat, gave out. If I had it to do over again I would have had a week of 3's, followed by 5's and 8's before training with 10 reps. Lesson learned.
Great training system. Chad actually design the the Wounded Warrior Barbell Club program with these principles in mind. Thanks for the support and keep up the good work.
Extremely sound advice from Chad. The biggest thing everyone should take away from this video is what Chad says about recovery. I noticed at 19 that recovering from 95% max for singles or doubles two or three times week on the bench and squat was possible, not so possible for the Deadlift. I still see this now getting back into PL @ 31.
It's extremely interesting on how Chad speaks about percentages and even speaks about algorithms at the beginning. Understanding all the factors he spoke about might contribute to the understanding on how to specifically align them to calculate peaking and the efficiency of a training regiment. I know now that most training regiments consist of percentage based off of max, but what if calculations placed you at a raw number for a specific amount of reps. For me having options like 225x5, or 135x15 might allow me to focus on specificity to align with building increased numbers for my following training cycle. There will no longer be a guessing game and efficiency of workload compared to growth in strength will be perfectly balanced. Oh how I would love to confront the problem of gaining the numbers to attain this specific algorithmic formula. :) Thanks for the video!
I really enjoy these videos mark. I learned a lot by watching these vids. And saves me the $ from paying someone just to tell me what to do over a computer screen.
Having worked with Olympic Rower/Scullers (Power) and Olympian Meb Keflezighi, this reinforces what I have known since 1995. The OVERALL AVERAGE of work comes out to about 75% Reguardless of Sport, with The Hard Days being at or above 85% of Max and the rest/easy days being at or below 65%.
I remember watching Matt Wenning and how he said the wrists should be straight when benching. I wonder what he'd say if he saw Chad doing his thing, I mean them wrists are all over the place!
I love these informative videos. There's so much more science and logic to powerlifting than in bodybuilding were a lot of it is just broscience (pew pew pew.)
Sure like your how to videos, like this one, with the real dudes. The professionals. I have learned quite a lot and reviewed things I had forgotten. Thanks to you Super Dudes.
Silent Mike is like me. I can tell he probably struggles with analysis by paralysis when it comes to programming based on the questions he asked. Awesome vid!!
Thanks you all soooooooooooooooooooo much . i was justing looking up his training videos trying to see how i could put a solid program togther for raw lifting and how to balence out squating benching and dling more then 1 time a week . thanks :]
I'm curious as to how closely Chad follows the Juggernaut Method. I read his E-Book and clearly the program is designed around the athlete by keeping the intensity low and leaving ample time for recovery to avoid over training for an athlete. This is not optimal for a powerlifter, as they are not concerned with playing a sport and can keep the intensity a lot higher. I really like the Juggernaut method but I just don't think the intensity is high enough for a serious powerlifter to make optimal gains. It would be awesome if Chad designed a program strictly for the powerlifter and not for somebody who is also concerned with playing a sport.
I did use TJM as written for my 1st meet 800/462/700 and think it can work very well for intermediate lifters. I still use it in my off seasons but this is the program I use for my meet prep now...jtsstrength.com/articles/2014/06/16/juggercube/
Thanks for the quick response Chad, it's hard to argue against a 1946 total that's for sure. Thanks for linking your meet prep program, I'll have to take a look at it.
+Juggernaut Training Systems From what I've seen in Powerlifting to Win's review on the Juggernaught method, the weekly volume is relatively low on the Juggernaught method, due to training only once a week. I must admit, I did not read the book, so I apologize if I missed something. The volume in one session seems to be very appropriate though. I love the way you put up the exact numbers, they seem to be pretty much consistent with Prilepin's chart. However, my question is: You did not really do training only once per week for that meet prep, right? If not, how did your training differ from that once per week template? By the way, I really like your approach to training. As soon as I have more time to read, I will definitely pick up a copy of your book!
Awesome information from Chad! What is his view in regards to a westside method? More specifically, Louie has mentioned that factors such as hypertrophy can diminish in a strength phase. This somewhat conflicts CWS's 'phase potentiation' idea and also classic periodisation models
Lazaro Angeles I was more interested in the dress as it looks great, similar to this www.etsy.com/uk/listing/153137543/marvel-comic-superheros-dress-womens?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=superhero%20dress&ref=sr_gallery_9 but better with the larger character images, and less hulk (sorry Hulk)
Idk if I'd rather have a million dollars or Chads head full of nickels? Either way good fuckin guy hope some of these younger guys are learning from these videos great job Mark and Mike.
Do you believe there are anomalies to this specificity? If I'm not mistaken, Jesse Norris is one of the best, if not best 198'ers in the world. I know his training is less specific than many, including lots of overhead work, strongman work, and other variations.
Matt Cronin Training I'd put Ed Coan in this category too. When he was at his best he was still doing lots and lots of assistance with relatively low volumes of the competitive lifts (in meet prep) or variations of the lifts (in the offseason)
@Chad, around the 22 minute mark you mention breaking up the total volume into multiple training sessions. This sounds a lot like how the Norway Coach breaks up his training, even often multiple sessions a day. What do you think of this?
Silent Mike living up to his name
Nice
this is what RUclips is about sharing info everyone is so focused on Vloging and trying to make chump change they forgot what brought people to RUclips in the first place.
Too much focus on perceived value as opposed to providing actual value.
Yup. People will buy your apparel if they like you or it's top quality. Mark brings value before he brought out tons of apparel. Now you have youtubers bringing out shirts straight away....like fu man, bring some value or info first.
This isn't Mike Cowan of LHU pedigree is it? ~Rookie
I'm very interested to see how you feel now. Also... checkmark now. Nice. Good to see the old guard be successful
I really enjoyed the CWS videos here. Seems like a genuinely nice guy and really learned a lot from these videos
Chad's eyes are like ice! Cool
CWS should stay at super training, hes so friendly and informative, those eyes and that smile though >.
Silent mike struuuugling not to move that white board lol! Good stuff!!
The pain! The shoulder burn!!!!
Ed coan would say that's the toughest training mikes done in his life
Too much time under tension
I bet he was on his phone all that time lol
supertraining06 i came here for powerlifting advice, not mike chang's new shoulder explosion workout
Chad looks like the Gerber baby grew up
Stephen Roller Yeah hes so handsome though, I'd go gay for him, no homo
My wife didn't know who he was and said, "that's the oldest baby I've ever seen" and "he looks muscular and fat, how does that work?"
bulldogvillan lolol
Big Tom Its those blue eyes eh
Stephen Roller
Dat dere Gerber must have some good stuff in it.

This channel is a gold mine of information.
I really appreciate how Powerlifters and Strongmen try to teach their method to "up and comers". They really have other peoples best interest at heart. Good, down to earth folk. God bless'em. Great video. Thanks guys.
I'd like to know Chad's approach to bulking, in that area he has excelled.
He bulks during his hypotrophy phase which is about 16 weeks out from a meet. He has videos on this though its labelled hypertrophy instead of bulking (which go hand in hand)

My favorite guest I've seen thus far!
Great training system. Chad actually design the the Wounded Warrior Barbell Club program with these principles in mind. Thanks for the support and keep up the good work.
I don't know if anyone else thinks so but doesn't chad have just mesmerizing eyes?
Definitely
god damn do I hate music beds. CWS doesn't need a beat to talk over, it makes me zone out.
Insane that this shit is free. Great info in here, thanks guys.
Mark Bell needs to do a tutorial about how to out-angle his huge guests... Because MAN did he out-angle Chad hahahaha
***** Silent Mike did pretty well with that too
Semi circle desk. The guest is in the middle and therefore furthest from the camera
honestly i love super training its self, but i love that he has the ability to spread knowledge from all these other lifters. Thanks Smelly!!!
Mark I think you should replace Silent Mike with Drawing Board as your new side kick.
Adrian Półtorzycki aaaand he did
Excellent information. A lot of concepts and ideas to consider. Thank you.
Extremely sound advice from Chad. The biggest thing everyone should take away from this video is what Chad says about recovery. How can you call Chad a big ugly ogre, Mark... have you seen those baby blues?
DarKool81 Ikr :D
And the humble smile as well :P
i'd hit that, and then run
He looks stoney bologna
A Don Reinhoudt reference, pretty cool!
Chads eyes are just so dreamy x

Chad has a Kaz look to him with those blue eyes and high forehead
great vid but the music is killing it, and not in the good way.
Another great video! Thanks for all the info Mark, Mike, and Chad.
Silent Mike's best contribution ever, IMO.
I really enjoy these videos mark. I learned a lot by watching these vids. And saves me the $ from paying someone just to tell me what to do over a computer screen.
This channel is the goat.
You guys are awesome, I've been loving all of your recent videos mark, great work loving it!
Silent Mike looks really good in this one. Killing it

My thoughts exactly. In anything we do, especially if it's sports, going over 85%-90% frequently can fatigue your CNS, physically, and mentally.
Chad is the genius if powerlifting
I remember watching Matt Wenning and how he said the wrists should be straight when benching. I wonder what he'd say if he saw Chad doing his thing, I mean them wrists are all over the place!
His eyes are bluer than the sky
homo or no homo?
Silent Mike has finally found his vocation.
supertraining06 Love what you guys are doing for the sport. This is fantastic information.
Been waiting all day for this!!!
I had to rewind a couple times. I just get lost in those beautiful blue eyes.
I love these informative videos. There's so much more science and logic to powerlifting than in bodybuilding were a lot of it is just broscience (pew pew pew.)
Nice. Keeping it sensible. It'll click when i need it.
My goal is to look good naked, so if I understand Specificity correctly, the most specific thing I could do is just be naked all the time.
so funny when cws corrects mike on the 959.
Mark out angled this guy better than Rich Piana....my favorite natty outangler
Thanks guys ,I'm not a power lifter ,but found it very interesting.
REALLY good information. Thanks!

If CWS would turn a Stan Efferding and become a bodybuilder, he would pull ass like no other
Mark! Looking super jacked, tan, and lean! Then I realized that this video was from 5 months ago...
thanks for the great information!
As always, awesome stuff.
Man chad's eyes though.... damn
This was just great to listen to
Thanks you all soooooooooooooooooooo much . i was justing looking up his training videos trying to see how i could put a solid program togther for raw lifting and how to balence out squating benching and dling more then 1 time a week . thanks :]
Hos bless this channel

I love how silent mike is just behind the board just holding it up for them. Lmfao

you have gyms like planet fitness portraying people that lift are like mindless ogres but then you hear some lifters speak and wow
when is Chad gonna finally tell us he's a Fremen from Arakis? look at those fucking eyes
Was it just me or did Silent Mike have some serious vascularity going on?
Who the hell would give this a thumbs down?
Love this, great thanx 😃
Dan Green does variations all the time though...
Jesuslicksmytaint Variations of the three comp lifts though. Still pretty specific.
You are not Dan Green
Idk if I'd rather have a million dollars or Chads head full of nickels? Either way good fuckin guy hope some of these younger guys are learning from these videos great job Mark and Mike.
That was fucking awesome.

Yes there are people who will be very successful doing different things.
Matt Cronin Training I'd put Ed Coan in this category too. When he was at his best he was still doing lots and lots of assistance with relatively low volumes of the competitive lifts (in meet prep) or variations of the lifts (in the offseason)
10:36 yes Mike, your arms are still there. Don't worry.
I am very curious, how would you adjust the percentages if you wanted to make the squat a pause squat?
Where can I buy that blue shirt on the left? anyone know? (tried the merch store, did not find it)..
Good stuff
@Chad, around the 22 minute mark you mention breaking up the total volume into multiple training sessions. This sounds a lot like how the Norway Coach breaks up his training, even often multiple sessions a day. What do you think of this?

chad has beautiful eyes, no hetero
those eyes, nohomo
Silent Mike is slightly high I'd say
At the beginning of the video dude has white walker eyes.
How can your hair look that good with that high a hairline..
Thanks!
Got a v-shread ad
Is silent Mike sat on a stool? After looking at him for ages he just started to look like a dwarf..
Chads eyes are da all white
What music is the intro?
wtf Chad squats alot more than his deadlift?
Mark seems to call anyone bigger and stronger then him an ogor hence Brian shaw
That seemed to be a distasteful cutting insult rather than just joking.
Chad handled it well but seemed he didn't take it as a joke.
Why do I feel that old Chad is the son of zeus 🤔
Carrot tops dad is strong af
Greetings from Ukraine!
if mark is lean then Mike is lean. if mark is big and fat so is silent mike.
