Hail Memology!
Hail Memology, Nerdrotic and the Fellowship
I know what some are thinking, no originality, nothing new and surprising, the same old tropes etc but I'm looking forward to it. The key is character development, do we even care about those in danger in the movie ? if they cannot establish that, it's just another sci-fi horror/slasher.
if it has one of those shaky cam and lense flares, i am out. lol.
It looks fucking awesome
Dear Hollywood welcome to the apathetic audience era. just remember you were responsible for this by giving us garbage films.

@@anonymoustoo4945 they dont need your money. they get loans for DEI now from banks.
This is the first time I'm demanding government bureaucracy: We need a cultural history preservation bureau, like most countries have for their architectural heritage. They'd prevent any company or individual from taking our cultural heritage and ruining it, no matter if they've bought the rights to them. Just like with historic buildings: if you buy one you're still not allowed to ruin it.
@@pistonburner6448 So basically, no "IP-mining"? I'm down for that.
@@Doxymeister Yes. Making changes to the Sistine Chapel is not allowed, so why is it OK for Disney to take other artists' masterpieces and ruin them? Even some nondescript, not at all famous buildings which happen to be unique representatives of a certain style of architecture aren't allowed to be modified, changed or destroyed no matter how much someone paid for its ownership.
My family has owned a manor house where we were absolutely prohibited to even renovate the building in a way that isn't respectful to the original building, and absolutely no modifications were allowed which weren't *_respectful to the original._*
The cast look like a generic corporate promo for a call-centre in Croydon...you are just missing the obligatory pakistani woman in a wheelchair
Hey don't associate this crap with croydon we have enough bad press 😂😂
The guys accent sounds more northern to me anyway. But we had a wheelchair fella in resurrection. Maybe this time we could include down syndrom or ms. I would be on board for any of that. Any race is fine also don't want to discriminate 👍
That's not a problem. A Pakistani woman in the wheelchair in ALIEN in space would be a hoot. The problem is, it's that call-centre in Croydon, AND it's a motherfukcing middle school strip. Diverse adults in Alien? it's always been that. I don't want to watch a bunch of Gen Alpha twats.

Everyone forgets that the first Alien was a surprising hit, I mean Tom Skerritt and John Hurt were some of the bigger names in the original, and they both died with Ripley becoming the Final Girl, Weaver wasn’t as known as either of her costars, but became one of the great leading ladies of film afterwards. The cast of Alien looked like blue collar workers, or truck drivers in space, this new ‘crew’ looks like a bunch of soft eyed simpletons or over pampered children.
Yeah I noticed teens in space, strange concept. I’ll give it a shot unless the creators start the woke drivel. If that’s the case then it’s an easy pass.
This is what nearly all modern actors are like now, you can tell they are rich kids that grew up in a bubble.
Or trust fund babies. I'm not believing that these children are capable of navigating this dangerous environment even without the alien threat. Bullshit!
Or trust fund babies. I'm not believing that these children are capable of navigating this dangerous environment even without the alien threat. Bullshit!
Also, the original cast of Alien were accomplished actors. Some of them had strong theater backgrounds.
This group looks like CW material.
"Alien" is such a dehumanizing word... I think it's time to update not only the franchise but the title itself so that it's more inclusive for a modern audience.

@jacobmcmullen5348
My point is that after a decade of watching a dog squat down and take a shit, while viciously barking at me, I’m fairly certain when the dog squats and growls, it’s going to produce dog shit.
This is the attitude they earned from the customer with a decade of abuse/dog shit. They don’t have any goodwill left, they replaced it with apathy/animosity.
Regardless of that, many people will not give them money on principal. If you abuse people, don’t expect them to treat you fairly or give you money. That is life.

I was 13 in 1979 when I saw 'Alien'. I had read about it in Starlog for a year before it came out, and I begged my psychopathic mom to take me to see it when it came out, which she happily did. She sat with her boyfriend in the back row of the theater while I sat in the front row. Alone. We were the only 3 people in the theater. I walked into that theater a child, but 2 hours later, I emerged from the theater an adult. There is a reason some movies are rated R. Alien is one of those movies that deserved that rating. The fear that movie caused within me, coupled with the isolation of being in that theater pretty much alone, scared me and scarred me. Nothing has come close to the feelings of that experience in my entire life. The film was an adult film, with adult actors (not pretty people who could act), with adult themes and dialogue. There is not one second of Alien that was campy, immature, childish, or tongue in cheek. It is as serious as a heart attack from the first second to the last second.
And now I see the trailer for this POS. A bunch of hot teens on an abandoned space station fight to escape an army of face huggers and aliens. If it was just one facehugger that implanted itself to become an alien, they'd all be dead. If Ripley, Dallas, Lambert, Parker, Ash, Kane, and Brett couldn't kill one, and only Ripley survived, blowing up the Nostromo and the refinery in the process, then NONE of these people deserve to live, just to be fair to the original film. Just seeing this trailer makes me want to eat broken glass. I hate that Ridley Scott's name is on it. Even he has become a shill for cash now. I will never watch this film, and I would think I am their audience. The people who make films now do not know their audience, are not adults, and do NOT know how to make content for adults. And I for one am sick of it.
I'm a huge Evil Dead fan and I had fears about Alverez's remake in 2013, and it was great, dark and gory just how I like it!! Alcohol is required!
They don't make movies for us, they only make movies for Seorge Goros.
It’s a shame what they’ve done to all our expectations. I’d be very interested in this movie if Disney hadn’t been ruining every single franchise/character they could get their hands on
Yeah... I thought the character Ripley was awesome but can't we get a male hero for a change? For Diversity?
And turn on the damn lights, FFS? CGI is so realistic now, there's no more need to hide imperfections in dark set pieces..
it only goes one way
@@Vertilgung yep, it just loops endlessly, it's why the hand gesture for "crazy" is the index finger looping round and round on the temple, it goes nowhere. That's insanity, you all are paying for it.
So how many movies, bands, books, shows etc is male leads compared to female! Thats like saying wonder woman movies should swap gender lead and not have wonder woman as a fucking lead!
@@6Vlad6Tepes6 that's a great idea, you bigot! lol
Hey remember when great horror movies (Like Alien and Aliens) had veteran actors who were in their late-30s to mid-60s? Good times. We've had enough Space Babies in Nurse What, thank you.
@RYCBARM123
Did you intentionally list teen movies there?
Sigourney was 28 in Alien
Everyone looks like a bunch of teenagers. This looks like a fan-made film.

@@thecloudtherapist I know. That's my mistake. There's a bunch of well done fan films out there. The difference is they are on a limited budget and they're free.
@jerry12314 You should look up the reason why Fede Alvarez went with young adults. You're hating for the sake of hating.
I thought the trailer looked good. I'm not the only one. We'll see.
So the day I have been dreading is coming. When Disney takes the Alien IP, bends it over, puts it the lube, and goes straight Deliverance on it. My favorite franchise getting destroyed. Mother trucker!!!
there is no Lube here
They aint gonna use any lube.
Is that a new thing though? Wasn’t Covenant also just a rehash of Alien (1). And then the decades with AvP and shit.

Did anyone _really_ have the remotest interest in seeing another instalment of 'crusty old fart bowlegs around breaking his knuckles on the jaws of Nazis young enough to be feeding him pudding with his pills mashed up in it?' I don't recall that. I mean, we al knew what it was going to be when they introduced Phoebe Wall-of-Chin anyway.
Who the hell put this trailer together, holy shit. Not only does it show everything, it's edited like a fan movie
@RYCBARM123 fair enough on that front then, but still after watching it i get the impression I've already seen too many decisive moments from it. I've got no intention of watching it in any case, not after the last few
I'm shocked so many people think it's stupid. The cast are all young because Fede wanted to tell a story from the perspective of those that grew up in a colony like Hadley's Hope. They are scavengers and don't want to spend the rest of their lives in the colony. The xenomorph is the same one from the first movie too. It was tracked down by Weyland Yutani and was taken to the Romulus station for research.
I absolutely agree with you. Everyone wants to bitch and moan about everything no matter what side of aisle they're on. I'd love to see what these four douche canoes could come up with for any movie.
I’m not sure if you’ve ever had a job, but I’ve never worked anywhere in my life that was staffed by entirely one age group.
That's...a thing. Stuff happened. Occurrences!

What if Alien... b-but in a space station! A-and with teenagers!
ALIEN was very literally my first fictional love affair. It captured my imagination in my early teens, and never let go.
I own the ALIEN Quadrilogy DVD set, and have sat through all 8 discs worth of content.
I used to religiously play AVP 2 (with mods), was one of the higher ranked ALIEN players, and read fanfiction for both A & P.
A pair of Ellen Ripley and Queen Xeno displates are staring at me from above my desk RN.
And you couldn't phoquing pay me to give Disney ALIEN the benefit of the doubt.
Sounds like a you problem, Tonto.

Think of this way: artificial scarcity has made those memories that much more precious with time.
Strange place, encounter aliens, alien picks them off one by one, hero kills alien at the end.
Seen this to many times.
You know, they'd probably actually make more money by re-releasing the original Alien and Aliens in theaters than they will on this bunch of 'member berries. It would be a lot cheaper for them, too. But, of course, the DEI cult can't fill old movies with their all important propaganda, so they wouldn't be happy about that.
And, if an old movie absolutely annihilated the box office numbers of all their current flops, they might have to finally admit that their mythical "modern audience" doesn't actually exist. And there's no way they're going to give up that lie so easily.
The ironic thing is with Alien and Aliens you could not get a more diverse cast of both films. Women in prominent roles. Then you have characters like Parker, Vasquez, Frost, Apone and so on....and at the time, watching it we loved it, did not see gender or race, just the characters.
I was 12 when I saw Alien. It was one of the greatest cinema experiences of my life.
Romulus gets a hard pass from me.
Why are all the characters children?
I think kids were the only survivors
They are scavengers that want to leave the colony and trying to hijack the Romulus space station I believe
Great franchise converted into a YA story.

I’m going to remain optimistic
After over a decade… brave soul.
"In space, no one can hear you cringe."
I thought this trailer kept close to it’s roots… but your panel claims it’s all been done before and “member berries”. Sometimes I feel like you guys are spot on with things like Dr Who, or Disney’s Star Wars; but then it’s as if you tend to paint everything with a broad brush… it’s kind of a “the beast you feed, is the beast that grows” type of thing. Everything is negative. This director has done an excellent job with other franchises; I feel like this trailer shows he’ll do the same with the Alien franchise. Bottom line, this franchise is doing what you wanted the Star Wars franchise to do; respect the fans, respect the original concepts.
Alien: open borders
Looks completely average, which is why half the comments are perplexed that others are not enthusiastic about it. People are starved of good entertainment, that they will praise anything.
How about a new title: "Diversity hire gets mugged in space."
“Awesom-O” give me another idea for another cheap remake 🎥
Will the Aliens be diverse ?
hey theres a twist we havent seen yet. Lgbtq alien who massacre's all the nahsees. That'll sell for sure.
I like how they show most of who's going to die so we don't invest in them. Probably too many characters. Only surprise would be that a male is the only survivor.
That’s like the DNA of the alien franchise and you’re still complaining that a female lives lmao
Honestly, nerds on the internet killed this series. They didn’t want anything new when Prometheus came out, and now they don’t want anything old either. They did the same thing to Star Wars. Lucas made the prequels new, people hated on him, then Disney spoon fed everyone the force awakens
My annoyance is, we got alien and aliens. We got terminator and T2, we have predator 1 and 2. WE DON’T WANT/NEED SEQUELS
Lemme add a little asterisk to that.
I'm one of those dorks who read a bunch of spinoff novels and comic tie-ins to ALIEN and Predator.
And said novels/comics? ARE actually really cool. Because they *add* to the existing lore of the movies. And come up with *new and novel twists* to keep the formula fresh.
Literally any one of those well-written stories could be the seed of a good movie. But nope! Not enough DEI.
Better to bin what's proven to work and stick with what's consistently failed instead.
You don't lol God damn I thought I was a cranky cynical fuck but the commenters here take the cake. Some a joint, have a beer or just take a bath and fuckin relax.
@@ephraimwinslowthe audience is not ready for that scientist story to be adopted the movie will need a new rating if it gets adopted.
Honestly, if they (anyone looking to reboot an old IP) treated it with respect, handled it well and made something that was actually good, I'm sure many people, myself included, wouldn't mind seeing these things come back and redressed with modern technology and ideas. When I find something I like, I go down a rabbit hole searching for content on that particular thing so I'm always wishing for more of the content I enjoy, as I imagine most people do.
The problem is that its all just been pretty shit. If terminator, alien, predator, the crow, indiana jones, fantastic 4, men in black, RoboCop or modern star wars (andor aside) were made with as much love and skill as something like xmen 97 or fallout, people would love them. Some of the newer transformers films echo that sentiment, IMO they're only mildly better than the bay films but they had a pretty decent reception. Do good work and people will enjoy it, do bad work and no famous IP can save you.
@@Eulogy10 You're speaking more to your own state of mind than his tbh, didn't really come across as overly hyperbolic or cranky at all, that's just how you read it. So take your own advice, have a fkn joint and relax.
