Sometimes you learn about a process for building that you never knew about, and that’s as helpful as actually completing a build

I'm a vet. Cat's and magnets can be friends and still find their way home. 😆 Also, can I just say that I wish so much that I had someone like you around when I was younger because I grew up being lead to believe that my creative mind was scattered, when all along I was just different and could have used encouragement and structure to teach me how to manage it so that my creativity could flourish rather than be stifled. That's the difference between 40 years ago and now days. I can't help but think of the creative like-minds out there that you're encouraging.
It's a real talent to be able to create a channel, a vibe that - is unwaveringly happy - is open about sadness and being sad and things being hard - isn't even meant to be that deep - is about something other than explicitly mental health And I feel like some makers manage it unlike many others. This is something I look forward to and I know will just be happy, but we are not, you know... pretending.

There are cat flaps which are locked with a mechanism which can be opened with the magnet at the collar of the cat. Good to keep the neighbour cat which bullies your own cat out your house....if the bully doesnt wear a collar with magnet.
I loved it when you mentioned that the frog's fingers are magnets and sticky like in real life! What a beautiful example of how function and concept can coalesce into such a lovely product!

Making something for someone else is three times better than making stuff for yourself. You get to make something that you might never have made for yourself, you get to give someone a gift, which makes you feel good, and you get to be told how clever you are and what a wonderful person you are. I love Headspace! I use the timers they are semi-guided. They help my ADHD brain remember that I am meditating and not permanently floating off into a wonderful fantasy designing my next couch or my king-size daisy bed for my bedroom, or next winter's winter coat, or new PJ, bras, underwear, slippers, suits, cool dog beds, a catwalk that isn't attached to the walls of my apartment, curtain rods that are not attached to the walls of my apartments, and the list goes on.
I flinched, when Simone said it was "Etsy Ready". Sadly, I can almost guarantee that within days, some unethical mass-drop-shipping Etsy account(s) will be selling an exact replica, derived from the same photo, for something ridiculous like $3.

I have a lot of half started projects, the garage is full of bits of wood, drawers, designs...but when I'm feeling down nothing makes me happier than felting. You can just sit with a bit of felt for hours and have a cute little guy at the end. No pressure or expectations.

One thing I've started doing recently that has been wonderful for my mental health is journaling. I was never the type to write often, and I think being assigned writing in school just made me hate it more. But I've found that writing about how I'm feeling lets me sort of mentally recap my week and notice things about myself that I maybe wouldn't have if I hadn't put pen to paper. Highly recommend giving it a shot!

It's hard to believe that either of you can be in such a state of lacking inspiration and then immediately come up with such a perfect idea! I guess it really shows that sometimes inspiration isn't something that you have, but rather something that you find and earn.
I've battled the big D since the age of 12 - that is 50 years of fighting the beast. My hobbies are what keep me sane and alive. It is that simple. So much of life is about DO THIS AND DO IT NOW! I've learned that you are allowed to have days when you really don't have to give a s**t. Nothing is SO important it can't be put on hold if you're really not feeling up to it. I wasted 4 days last week worrying about something I didn't need to worry about - all because someone else didn't do their job properly. I wish I could speak to that person face to face and make them understand. Today is proving to be a difficult day because there is something I want to do but I don't feel (physically) well enough to do it. I'm just aching and tired because I have arthritis and kidney disease. It would be so easy to sink into a funk, but I'm going to not allow myself to punish myself for not being well enough to do something I really wanted to do today. Instead, I will find some other way to have a fulfilling day. At least if I try and do that, I will have no reason to blame myself for anything. 😁 Simone always makes me smile. That is a gift.

This made me feel so much better about doing my art. I'm getting a tad burnt out from being at the tedious part of my project but watching you make something you liked reminded me that when I'm done, I'll be happy too cause I'm the kind of person who keeps going until they're happy with the finished product, even if I have to start over again.
