I have been watching your videos for years. You inspired me to fish for halibut from the shore. I am now slaying tuna on my 33ft center consol. Let me know if I can take you out sometime.
Rodney....since you guys have a motor on the dingy....did you guys register the dingy and have a cf number? Just curious because I have one and wonder if I have to go get it registered to get the cf number. Thanks
Hey what’s sup rodney I’m from L.A but I want to go fishing to San Diego for some yellowfin croakers or Corbina or anything that eats mussels do you know any locations you’ll recommend going to ?
Another fun video Rodney! Love your competitive spirit! Keep those videos coming! 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟 Maybe I should try San Diego bay for sea bass? Better yet, Halibut!🤗
Love the content and fishing 🐟. Do you private do guide tours? I have family in San Diego and I'm down there a few times a year would love to learn from you. Cheers tight lines🎣
Hey I've been shore fishing a drop shot rig exactly like what you've been doing and no luck. so I got a few questions, 1 what time have you been fishing, 2 do you use all braided line or do u put a couple feet of mono on the end, 3 what spots do you recommend for shore fishing halibut.
Funny I'm subscribed to both of your channels but didn't realize you knew each other duh! Keep up the good work! My son lives in liberty station hope to run into you guys on one of my visits
Yo Rodney! I would love to take you and a couple of your boys out fishing on the hobie's in LA Jolla for Yellowtail or if you and a couple buddies wanna jump on my Parker to chase dodo or tuna at the end of the season hit me up 🤘🤘.
You called it San Diego Bay and I was trying to decide if you are on Mission Bay or San Diego Harbor. Love watching Rodney! Great video!! See you this winter. - Scott
No, if you look on a map, the entrance to San Diego bay is between Point Loma and Coronado…. There are two mouths between ocean beach and mission beach, one is the mouth the mission bay and one is just the mouth of the San Diego river…
@@1surfpesca_ I see what you're saying. What you are referring to as San Diego Bay, we always called San Diego Harbor or "The Harbor." Just never referred to it as a bay. I know where San Diego river enters into the ocean and I know Mission Bay. I was only confused by the naming.
Super good question , majority of the San Diego bay has eel grass or sandy bottoms , the rocks are usually close to shoreline or submerged jetties . Majority of the time it will not get caught up on the bottom , hence it effectiveness :) good luck yo!
Hey Rodney! I have an inflatable too that I wanna take to the bay. What weight anchor did you guys use? Or what do you recommend? I’m in between 10/15 pounds…

Little bit sketchy is always fun. 😂
Haha I almost fell once >.
The ned rigs absolutely smash them!
What an interesting mix of fish this bay has. It so cool to use a mix of saltwater and freshwater techniques
28.5K subs and you put out videos once every 3 months?! What?! Step it up brodude. You make such great videos and we need fresh content! You got this!

Shiet man 30 seconds into this video I already loved it man. I know that spot…. 🤔 💭. Good relaxing spot lol
All right I've got sandbass on jigs and lures never would have thought of a Ned rig....wow🤯

@@RodneyMarquezFishingChannel Heck yeah. I have learned so much from you and it's improved my fishing off the jetties 100%

Nice video. I’ve been fishing my 10’ rib here. I just rigged it it up with a bait tank to use for targeting Halibut.
Another great video and fun to watch you guys! Thanks for sharing 👉🏻🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣👍🏻🙌🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻
Thanks Jerry for the support ! tight lines , good luck fishing :)
Rodney! Never disappoints my dude! 🤙🏼
Thanks Greg! It was a fun time out there :) little sketchy but worth it ha!
Caught my first fish today after watching your “how to catch halibut from shore” video. It was a rock fish though . God bless

Great day fishing.
I'm going to try the Drop shot in SF Bay for strippers and Halibut from my Kayak
Can you troll the drop shot?
Good message Bengi
I concur!
Im back in SD baby can’t wait to test the waters brotha 🙏🏽
Heck yeah ! Waters are getting warmer :)
Wow that's a small boat for 2 people !
What is the best or easiest way to identify channels and shelfs to target?
What spinning reel would you recommend for kayak fishing in the bay?

Thanks Aron! I wish you some halibut luck !
You both are cool . I like your videos very much ❤️
Thank you so much 😀 hope you enjoyed the video!
Was there any particular reason for choosing the spinning setup instead of a bait caster?
Just preference :) I usually like using a spinning reel when I’m on boats , since I don’t have to cast far with it
fire thanks for the tips
No problem :) thanks for watching
I’m from San Diego man and I’m trying to learn to fish I know the basics but if you could give me some tips that would be great
overdue.. nice work gents
Thank yo! I’m taking my dad out next session :D

Hey! I like fishing high tide going out to low tide when fishing from the shoreline. try harbor island out :)

Nice !! Thanks for watching . Hope to see you out there :)
One last question: I’m looking for my first bait caster reel for catching spotties and other San Diego bay fish, what gear ratio is your favorite
I personally like the shimano curado DC 150
Rodney what size weight are you using on your drop shot rig
Great question, I was using a 1 oz torpedo weight. I like using a 1 oz torpedo weight with a 12 lb - 15 lb fishing line
@@RodneyMarquezFishingChannel last question, what is the distance from hook to sinker and are you using floro or mono

San diego bay is a lil south of mission bay

drop shot grub hands down :D
Zmans float up a lot quicker once the salt in them is gone

For the Ned rig , it was a 1/4 oz jig head
