Alan, I love to hear a man discuss the power of prayer. I have so many situations in my life of answered prayers. I enjoy seeing a dad and his children working together and learning. I was always in my dad's pocket working on the farm. I learned so much and from that I made a great career and living from his teachings. Our God is great. Boe
Am also a firm believer in the "POP", the Power of Prayer. When I see good things happening; I give thanks and praise. I see it as a blessing, and not just simple luck.
Alan, you are an inspiration, for the power of prayer. We don’t always get exactly what we ask for, God moves in many ways, thank you for sharing your beliefs. You have a great Christian family. God Bless.
Trinity glad you guys didn't have any oats fall over. We combined 65 acres that same weekend but most of it was lodged. We ended up having a neighbor swat them and was able to get majority of it.
Awesome field of oats Al. Can't wait to see you swathing and combining, and oats going up the elevator. Power of Prayer? Absolutely! ! What a blessing to know that God hears us and wants every good thing for us.
Beautiful Oats. Awesome to see the kids old enough to be helping take care of so many chores, a true family farm. Hope you get a beautiful crop of oats and straw. God bless you and your family.

I was getting oats out of a bin for a friend that what to tear bin down. Skin is crawling. It makes beautiful feed though. We have been blessed with ample rainfall this summer. May the Lord be with you.
Wednesday, July 31 Omaha Omaha got hit with her 95 mile an hour winds and heavy rain. It was clear classified as a category one hurricane, not a tornado, because no houses were destroyed. But trees were ripped out of the ground by the roots and other trees, twisted and huge branches fell down. Cars were crushed houses were crushed, and we had no power in the middle of Omaha for four days and 12 hours, just got it back late last night. The house was 90° on the thermostat with no air conditioning. Your crops would’ve been flat as a pancake if you’d gotten that kind of storm. I always enjoy your videos and your family and your 4-H projects. I grew up on a farm in Central Minnesota. Basically just like yours.
Great video, Allen. Have you ever tried Flex Seal paint in the bins? Or even on the roof of the shed? Not cheap, but the stuff seems to hold up. All the best to y'all!
We're still baling our first crop of hay here in Northern Michigan too. 10 acres to go. Very challenging summer getting rain every third to fourth day. God bless you all! Keep up the good work!
As you were talking about putting hay under the roof before repairs, I said, "Oh, he doesn't want to fall so far." Haha! Great minds think alike. (Jenn and the kids need you.)
He said one rainy day, "Gee! I need to fix that roof, but I can't do it now because it's raining." Then the rained stopped and he looked up at the roof again. "Gee! I was gonna fix that roof, but now that the rain has stopped it don't need fixing."😊
Last Wednesday we had 92mph winds here in SE NEBRASKA. A lot of tree damage. Cows are are all safe was the most imporant thing here. Lost power for 4hours. Some people are still without power today Monday.
Looks like a great stand of oats and not much for weeds. I think you said you have Rodney oats and yeah, chest high is pretty standard. You thinking of round baling some of that straw?
We grew Rodney oats when I was a kid, 1950's. They were cut with a binder, shocked and threshed with a thresher. Always farmers getting together to get it done. 14 farms in our group. Fun times!
I noticed the feed truck said Pierz on the side. Does the fed come from Pierz or did a co-op buy the truck from them. It would be a long ways from your farm to Pierz.
Ave Maria Gratia Plena Ora Pro Nobis💙 Awesome witness! We too are firm believers in the power of prayer. To Jesus through Mary! God bless you, your beautiful family, and your farm!
Nothing wrong for believing rosary gives it away happy you guys are having good year wet is always better then dry 😂 I'm going to hell 😢 715 Monday it's pouring here I'm off to Nebraska with load fats tonite load 830ish
That Gehl skiddy is a death machine if I've ever seen one. You've got too many young kids to be driving that thing around. Put some kind of roll cage on it or park it in the tree line and never use it again.
Any piece of machinery is dangerous. Cows can be dangerous, but my kids are around them every day. I have been running that machine since I was 12. I use common sense when running it and don't overwork it. I appreciate your concern. Thanks for watching.
Redesign the shed roof. Don't just put it back like it was. Take out any trees that could be a threat before you start on rebuild. Nothing like backseat driving!
Dad made comment to me yrs ago. When I was boy oats got taller. Then they come out with combine oats , they were shorter. Are you Lutheran? We are firm believers in pray also!
I've got registered Nubians on my farm but I've never showed them. I was wondering when you say leased. Would the owner be paying for the service of showing or are you paying to have it to show. I would think the owner would benefit greatly from their goats being showed. Just wondering
We lease through 4H, so we go to the owner's house to work with the animals, or sometimes the owner will let you keep the animals on your farm. We take care of them at the fair. The family we're leasing goats from is leasing a dairy heifer from us, so we provide the cattle feed, and they provide the goat feed. It all works out. We don't charge for leasing.
Hey Y'all, Kinda dumb question. Y'all don't have a Dog? Not many people believe about a Dog, As you know "Dog" is God backwards and My Grandma always told me that a Dog on the Farm was Gods Angel and that dog would protect your farm. So Y'all need a Dog if you don't have one. Enjoyed the video, Thanks for sharing. PS, I have 4 of Gods protectors, Khan, Jake, Desi and Ellie.
Jen's mom and dad live on the farm with us as they have some health issues. They have dogs, so we get to love on them without having to pay for dog food, haha!
I pray for my crops and the crops of my neighbors, I am by no means trying to brag, I'm trying to give glory to God, where it belongs! I've had crops that have completely failed, I accept that as the will of God and move on. The Lord Giveth, and the Lord Taketh away! Farmers never blame other farmers that their crops might fail, but their neighbors didn't. We are a community that prays for each other.
I like your videos ,but I haven't been watching them fully . This and the last video you talked 8 minutes or more before you got to any action . Try changing it up.
It's a hard balance trying to explain what I'm doing without running long. If I don't explain anything, then I'm answering questions in the comments nonstop. Trust me, Jen tells me to move it along, too sometimes.

Which engine does your 4400 have in it??
The ford industrial, gas.
This is probably a stupid question but, do you use the oats for feed for animals or for the market? Thanks!!
Animal feed.
If you fall through that roof even with hay stacked underneath be careful not to cut yourself on that tin.
