Quite an adventure moving the Case combine. My BIL moved a burned Ford 642 combine once...they rigged up a hydraulic line on the steering cylinder so he could steer it with the pull tractor. Regarding parts prices, my late wife used to roll her eyes and say "is it made of gold?" LOL Hope the Lord is with all of you for the remainder of the harvest season.
We ran a 600 Case, gas motor too and yes we worked it to death. It let us to switch to high moisture corn in a Harvester silo instead of ear corn… thx for the video !
Yes You are right when machines get old and real old sometimes it in not worth the money to fix. Because fix one thing then and other and extra as well as you can't get parts or too expensive. Then it is time to sell it for scrap or what ever. enjoyed your video as always Alan, best of luck with the corn storage in the bins.
Good to see a little case 660 content. Too bad it’s locked up now. I’ve been using my 2 660s to do beans an corn the last couple weeks. They definitely don’t have a huge capacity but they work well. Only major problem now is lack of parts availability.
waiting on ear picking love that use to on our farm i had one of those 660 they were slow but did a good job long time ago tho went through 3 715 ihc since then
When you were talking about the engine being stuck in the combine I did remember about that other 830. I didn't realize it was 2 years already. I did also think about an 830 blowing corn silage and that cat was sitting on the seat. It appears you are starting to winterize yourself Alan. That will make the deer walk right up to maybe.
I was alway sinterested in those 60's case combines. Couldn't figure how small combines llike that were big enough even for small farms though I guess when the 600 came out in 1961 they were a good size for the small farms that still existed then. Case was about to come oujt with a new series in the 70's that were somewhat like the 105 John Deere, but the company with new owners pulled the plug on new combine series. We have 3 old machines next to our trees we call combine row. Ih 403, Deere early 95h and 1956 Case 302 like a leveland 120 I think. Has 3 wheels with one on the rear with hydraulic drive to help it up the hills as it was a hillside machine which are necessary in the pacific Northwest wheat fields. We had a junk guy cut up some of our IH conventionals as they're worth nothing and the Chinese at the time were paying for iron. We bought a bunch as they were outdated but we used them for a few years. Hope you get it a new home. It's nice to clean up a yard though I like old collector machines. Reminds me of my youth.
I think want hurt j.i case combines they didn't update their machines during the 50's and 60's case did built a case 1660 and 1665 very few where built to compete with deere 105.. I think 1972 they stop building combines.
I always feel like parts and supply places pick the farmers pocket on pricing. I could be wrong! but it seems like people think they can do it because farmers need equipment back working in a hurry.
Handy Andy used to be the best! I haven't worn them in years, mainly because they didn't seem to have the same quality for the price. Went to cheap 12 packs and would just throw them out when they got thin, but I would wash the Handy Andy's a few times before they would get thin. Thumb and index finger wore out first. 👍👍
@@trinitydairy off road v belts out of rock valley, Iowa has it for $178.57 and if you spend $200 you get free shipping so I'm sure there is another belt that they would have that you need add to it to your order to get free shipping
The main reason for me is parts. We've been able to get equipment that breaks down, fixed and back to work the same day, because we have parts on hand. And sometimes parts that aren't available anymore.
@@butchmcgregorb1203 I have fixed my old junk that I'm using with another piece of old junk that is unusable because I can't find parts, or my machine that I'm fixing isn't worth the price of a new part, plus the part that I'm salvaging is basically free because it is only worth scrap iron price
Great video Alan
Very good job and God bless y'all
Great content!
Another very interesting video Thank you Alan 😊God bless you and your family😊😊😊😊😊😊

Thanks for the video, Always enjoy them.
God Bless you as well
Excited to see the other 830 back together
We had a 700 case combine for a few years back in the early 90s. Good combine for what they were. Had a Chrysler slant 6 in it.
Enjoyed your video hope someone may buy for parts. Good job moving it. See you next time. Have a great day.

Something will seem different to you now for a month or two when you look past where that combine stood.
👀🙄🐾👍Interesting video Alan
V belt supply is where you can get that belt. We buy all of our belts from them. They are quite a bit cheaper and very good belts.

Use the tractor 3point to lift back of combine off ground then you can drag it anywhere and not have to steer
I thought the same thing. 👍
Heck a dang lawnmower belt is 200.00 anymore.
Just wondering if you got your barn cleaner fixed. Looking forward to the corn picking video. I use a Oliver corn picker pull type. Love your videos.
Not yet. I saw a video where they were using an oliver corn picker and it looked like it did a really good job!

Next your going to have deer stuck inside the fence lol can’t stop them from eating corn out cribs
How many cow’s are you milking now? Love to see the farms still running the old equipment and making do that way
32 milking
Is that about your average
Use what you have
Keep what you can fix
👍
What era of tractors do you like better the 06 or 66 ???🤣😂👍🇺🇸
You are wearing yellow chore gloves. Around here you have to look for the good heavy ones!

Handy Andy are good ! A pair of thermal glove liners and Handy Andy mittens , warm hands on a tractor with no cab!
Hey Alan you ever get your old ford tractor up and going
No,but I was just thinking about pulling it out and working on it.
You gonna try to resurrect that machine?
No , I don't think so.

Why do farmers hold on to their old junk why not sell and rid of the junk seams to me a big waste of time just saying my dad saved all his junk also
One theory is thats it's a farmers personal museum.
