We don't have Secret Service here in the UK, "agents" and such usually work out of the "House". The Metropolitan Poice are overall responsible for protection of our politicians, ministers and visiting counterparts known as SO1. The Priminister has a detatchment from the PaDT, (Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection). Depending on the current threat, there may also be personnel from the Security Services and JFC.

Probably because the British government can never be destroyed, no matter who you hurt there’s always someone else to take over whereas in America if the senate are gone then the country falls into anarchy, so technically the secret service are protecting the president from its own people, sad when you really think about it
