The sampler player ones are another treat. The artifacts on pitching it way slow are smooth and gorgeous. Also the pulsar algorithm is quite unique and when distorted and filtered brings a lot of texture too. Disting always seem the gift that keeps on giving, many thanks to Os and videos like these highlighting its greatness.
Cool video ! Lately i've been having lots of fun with the sample audio playback algo (clocked or not-I1 and I2) and the way it switches from one sample to another in "legato" (playback position maintained) , is very cool if you've prepared your samples with that in mind. Such a great module !
this skiff is a "wish I saw this 4 years ago when I got into eurocrack" standpoint ... so much can be done with that case! great video (as always) and I should dig a bit deeper into my disting! currently only using it as a quantizer but they delays are really good too!
I used to use Disting mk4 as a quantizer. But I switched to uO_C as my main quantizer, and that frees up the Disting for more experiments. I even found a guy who sells wavetables prepared on gumroad (Roikat Sound Design) for the Disting Mk4/EX. Really opened my eyes on getting some less harsh digital sounds out of a wavetable VCO. L-4 Dual Vowel Filter is another good algorithm to try, make some cool psytrance/psybient tracks with it. J-8 Audio playback with Crossfade is pretty amazing for making nice sounding loops and textures and even switching between very different samples smoothly. I-6 Audio playback with Scrub is fun if you have a ribbon controller (Zorx) or a slider (RitS TUL)
Tip of the Day get an EX instead two Mk4 distings with an easier to read display (don't forget your glasses though) really great modules, which ever flavour... I have two Mk3, two Mk4 and 3 EX currently
It was one of the very first modules I wanted years ago when I began my Eurorack journey, but I only got round to getting one a couple of months ago. Since then I've added the midi breakout so the Beatstep Pro can play and manipulate samples. I use a few other algo's but still only scratching the surface. Other multipurpose modules I have are, Ornament & Crime (also excellent) and Abstract Data Octocontroller.
I was struggling to find a second tempo-synced delay module when I lit upon the Mk IV’s K6 algo. It’s now my other go-to delay, after the Mimeophon- but imagine my disappointment when I found that K6 had been sacked from the EX. Looks like I’m going to need a third Mk IV…
Disting, Plaits, Maths and Dual Dagger! Can't go too far wrong. Splendid work as always. Didn't realize just how good that reverb was..? C-8 Bit Crusher - How many ways can bits be crushed??!! N-6 Pulsar VCO - Chip Choon City with the Massive wavetables now? Come on! I-6 Audio Playback w/Scrub - Zik Zik! R-R-E-A-L-L-Y-Y F-F-R-E-S-H-H-H-!-! F-6 Shift Register Random Quantized CVs - On the MIDI 2 scale setting with a latched arpeggiator or sustain pedal's a goodun... K-3 Wavetable Waveshaper - A la 'Massive' now apparently... and then K-2 Clockable Wavetable LFO - Automate that mult/division parameter - mad syncopation. Thanks for the fab content mate. : )

The community I tend to live in is no stranger to the term "BUY MOAR DISTING". Great to find you here, Unperson.

Ive been using my disting mostly as a dual sample player for kick&snare, but I'll definitely checkout the wavetable vco now.
Stereo recorder is absolutely amazing. Allows me to capture pure clean audio signal. I also really like the stereo tape delay M6

This is great! Such a good module
Which Plaits algo is that at the start please?, sounds lovely..
Is there an online repository of pre formatted wavetables, samples, libraries etc for mk4? I’d love to skip the chore of preparing stuff for sd card.
the diamond itself wont glitter before the light is playing with him:-)
