This episode killed the series for my family, it was too much of a departure from the spirit of the original show and drove us away. Even as a throw away show to watch while we had a meal, we switched to watching Sweet Tooth which was a way better show and never looked back.
All they had to do, was follow the storyline from the OG series, they could change how the characters get to their destination, character growth etc, but not the end results of it, they could've put 3 episodes of the OG series in each of the Netflix episodes and it'd total out to the same length, they were lazy, and just didn't care about being true to the spirit of the show, Azula is supposed to be extremely intelligent, the best of anyone else who comes up against her, witty, fierce, competent, terrifying, yet calm and collected, and extremely good in hand to hand combat, as well as tactical planning, my favorite antagonist next to Ozai in the series and this show ruined her. 😞
You're absolutely right. The show was a trainwreck from the start and it never had a chance. Once MDD and Bryke left, it signaled to the world the show would only be a cheap imitation of the original.
I got brain rot watching this series. This is just a stupid product for those corporates who just wants to feed off by leeching onto our nostalgia. They really got no heart to give to their works anymore.
