- Is your Android tablet feeling a bit slow & sluggish? These tips & tricks should give it a much need speed boost! In this video, I'm using a Nexus 7 2013 and ASUS ZenPad 8.0 to demonstrate but it applies to all Android devices.

The shorter animations solution is incredible! Got this tab e a few years ago and it's been slow from the very first day. This makes a GIGANTIC difference. Samsung specialist in Best Buy had no idea why. Thank you!

@@pepsiluke No, that doesn't improve performance, just graphics. Just use Force GPU Rendering (on older Android versions) or use Disable HW Overlays (on both older & newer Android versions) :)
With developer options on the animations scale section you can also turn the animations off to make it even faster.

Is there some reason why completely turning-off the animations wouldn't be even more effective than the x0.5 scale option, or were you just assuming no-one would want to completely lose them?
+David Harrison yeah that's pretty much the assumption i was making - it's absolutely fine to turn them off completely.

Not really what I was looking for, but it was still helpful overall. I was looking for a way to improve speeds using a systems approach; this approach pretty much avoids things such as non-root kernel tuning.
It's better to just turn off animations in developer settings all together

Well this has helped the speed on the home screen but the apps are still being extreamly slow. I guess I'll just have to get a new tablet which is a shame as it was fine but all of a sudden has become slow to the point where it can't do anything, even load up basic apps. The only thing I did was not use it for a couple of months 😟😢
RIP 10 inch Lenovo tablet, you were well loved. Sleep now in that bottem drawer. You'll always be rembered for being the best short lived tablet I had for a few years.

My Nexus 7 2013 has been running really slow lately even after a factory reset, is it a possibility it's just dying?
Steve H I wouldn't go so far as to say it's dying. Has it been charging properly? Have you noticed that its been discharging at an accelerated rate?

I think the best android tablet is the NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet K1 however the build quality isn't the best that's why the ipad air is still a bit better in my opinion
There are also some decent ones from Samsung and Sony but not quite as good as the other mentioned tablets
+Hans Wurst The K1 is a great tablet, particularly for its performance. I'm quite a big fan of the Tab S2 actually as well.

Don't update your SW. With time and more updates it makes the device slower. And also Software update can either make your battery better or worse. Better to stick with what you have already. If not then root and custom ROM option is there :)
with cheap tablet, after one year never update the device, new update just made it slower and slower over time. What to do is just update the apps through Google Play

Here's a cool trick I learnt to speed up your iPhone. This trick as far as I am aware refreshes or deleted your cache and speeds up your phone. Hold the lock key until you see the slide to lock graphic appear. Once you see it hold the home key button until everything disappears and you return the home screen. Hey presto faster phone.

Thank you very much. I have a Samsung tablet 2014 edition. The battery would not keep a charge for over 30 minutes after starting to use it. This started happened about a year ago. I will definitely give your suggestions a try. If it doesn't work, I probably will order another battery.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 tablet which was running perfectly until i mistakenly changed a setting which adjusts the speed of how quickly the tablet processes any and all actions from opening and closing apps, to reading emails., to deleting programs, to researching the net...in other words this setting the total speed of the tablet. It offers a range of speeds from zero seconds, which is where i had it set, to either 1,2,3 or 4 seconds. I mistakenly changed it to 4 seconds and now all uses i make of the tablet require 4 seconds between actions. I cant find the setting that i changed and have looked through all the settings area. I dont want to reset the tablet if i can avoid it because this is such a simple fix if i could just find the proper setting in my tablet. Can you help me ? Thanks so much either way.
