I have a Crest ultrasonic cleaner. The instructions say to never put plastic or rubber parts in it. Don’t think it’ll be good for the seals or hoses.

Hummm I wonder if there is a pinhole into the dust boot and water is introduced inside or between the boot and the oring seal . Water would be trapped inside and create rust on piston ????.??

Love that insight...nice job. We talk about our concerns in the summary video linked in the description too.

Any concerns about solution ingress into the caliper?

@@How2Wrench my ultrasonic cleaner is grounded and I was using a detergent with citric acid. Add hot water it creates a low voltage circuit apparently that's enough for copper plating.

Hm I kinda want to try that now. I just bought the Harbor Freight 6L ultrasonic cleaner a few weeks ago. Used Evaporust in it for rusted nuts and bolts and it works great. Other than that I've messed with dawn dish soap and random other stuff but I have to figure out a general purpose solution for dirt/grease/grime that will NOT hurt aluminum if left it too long. I've also been looking into ways to protect fasteners from rust after cleaning and part of me wants to do plating at home but I don't really have the room. When I read your comment my first thought was if it would protect form rust. Do you know of any videos of websites talking about plating with the ultrasonic cleaner?
