Exactly. My Dad would pickup 30yd OT from the Dallas Farmers Market. Problem is the vegetables/fruit is full of water which make the boxes real heavy. We would get the front end high as fuck... would scare the shoppers walking by.
I drove a roll off semi. Overweight boxes lifted the drive wheels off the ground, which was a problem because the controls were on front of the trailer. Sometimes they got high enough I couldn't reach them. This driver did a textbook loading of an overloaded box.
Some times you get heavy boxes. You can put it in neutral and back under the box all you want. It'll help the cable but the front of the truck is still coming off the ground.
If he picked it up correctly it probably wouldnt have picked the wheels up, he lowered the rails too much. They should always be at the top of the cab or higher unless you have some real low overhead obstruction. If you do it correctly and it lifts the front end then it's really heavy but he's just show boating to make a video.
@@beverwyck1i think that’s wrong. I work as a roll off driver and you’re supposed to level out the hoist so that the truck backs under the open top. If you raise the hoist all the way up you’re going to destroy the pavement and put all the weight on the wench
@fredymartinez1797 what are you saying is wrong? Where did I say pull the can o. With the rails all the way in the air? That's dangerous too. I'm a roll off driver too, for the past 25 years.
@beverwyck1 i usually pull it up till I can see the wheels in my mirror than I level it out to where the rails are level with the box. I adjust it up and down as I load it to keep it level and straight. Other than that. My truck is only a 50k winch I had a load that was 22 ish ton and it did not lift my wheels like that. I've loaded many cans that are 15+ ton and not even an inch off the ground. How heavy you think that was ? And I agree he let it down a bit to much
If you're an experienced roll off operator you'll not lift the front. The truck lifting us because the heavy is outside of the chassis. You have to put the hoise up and keep 🔙 with the cable and keep up hoise and back This way you're not forcing the cable and guess what your front will never lift You cab put it down when the container is 3/4 on the chassis That way you have 75% of the load in the truck, the math said 25% out will never beat a 75 % on the truck. You're welcome. Yes when i first started I did lift a lot but then i found out a better and safe way to do it.
@bern7851 he should've released his brakes too to let the truck roll backwards under the box. Good way to snap a cable doing it the way it's done in the video
@@DerangedWookiee he said I explained perfectly so he already knows that. But thanks for adding that A reminder is always welcome. Always working with safety Keep it up 💪
And this is how ppl die... That's not the way to pick up a heavy load.... If that cable snaps guess who is going to lose his head?? . Boom above the cab , let go the service and parking brake and just roll under the can so you don't put that much tension on the cable !! Stay safe ....
Agreed! That was the only scary part, seeing the boom in line with the rear window while there is enough cable should it snap to come through the cab. Way too many ways to die let alone set up the worst scenario yourself.
I’ve been doing Roll Off for 4 years so I’m fairly new but I’m pretty sure this isn’t the way it’s supposed to be done definitely not the safest 😂 you should have release the brakes and let the truck roll under the can!
I pulled a can a couple weeks ago that was 22.38 tons in the can. Put me at 78800 gross on a 10 wheel truck. The front wheels never came off the ground.
All cool till the overpaid welders hook on front of container comes flying through back window or cable snaps. I hauled roll off for 3 years. Seen a conworker bury a container front hook into his dash just missing him.
Overweight load. Full of concrete or rocks. If it was MY truck it would need the load reduced. But it's a company truck and nobody gives a shit about that....just ask 'em. No trash hauling for me, I'll stick with Production and Lighting hauls.
Right there is nuts if that cable snap and as low as he or she had the rails the cable would have come through the back windshield. Been doing rolloff for years. Keep them rails above the cab because if the cable snap atleast the driver is ok!!
If at any point you come off the ground you don’t know what you’re doing , I’ve been doing this for 10plus years and not once has my truck lifted off the ground even with loaded concrete boxes
My uncle does this for a living I showed him the video and all he said was “hell I’ve lifted higher than that” lol
Exactly. My Dad would pickup 30yd OT from the Dallas Farmers Market. Problem is the vegetables/fruit is full of water which make the boxes real heavy. We would get the front end high as fuck... would scare the shoppers walking by.
Facts I picked up a 20 yard full of roof shingles and I could’ve sworn I started to levitate
Idea: roll off lift competition. Whoever lifts the highest wins.
It's only scary when the bulldog turns around on the hood and says I'M SCARED!!
I used to call these Jesus loads cause every time the front tires came off the ground I said "Oh Jesus"...😆

I agree. I have always rolled the truck in n out from the bin .my bins rarely moves.
That’s ridiculous as soon as my wheels come off the ground I’m dropping the thing and they gotta off load some

He did. It was so heavy it compressed the cylinders @beverwyck1

I’ve been doing roll off for a year and you explained exactly what he needed to do. He should’ve raised the hoist to lower the front.
@bern7851 he should've released his brakes too to let the truck roll backwards under the box. Good way to snap a cable doing it the way it's done in the video

That’s why your suppose to leave it aimed above the cab till she’s on most the way Of it does snap. Bin slides you get to go home fuck it

Roll-off is not worth what they pay
when the company's motto is "we get it done no matter what". this is what they are talkin about

Exactly what should've been done. Otherwise you risk snapping the cable
I just started and Im so glad the only cans I gotta grab are on the ground. If the truck lifted in the air I would need to change my pants
Lol if you’re gonna take a box that’s overweight at least do it right smh .. that cable can easily snap like that
I pulled a can a couple weeks ago that was 22.38 tons in the can. Put me at 78800 gross on a 10 wheel truck. The front wheels never came off the ground.
That cable snaps while the wheels are off the ground like that and hoist is even with the cab…….you’re finished. It could cut right through.
Good call! Didn’t even cross my mind! Dangerous job!
Can I share This video On My Page?
Shake hands with danger
POV you have a crazy trucker
This is normal
For rookie yes

Facts
How often does that happen ?
Now hide and seek with dot

Hire me lol
Mack truck sitting like an eighties front wheel drive Cadillac with 2 in the front and 3 in the back with a loaded trunk.
Right there is nuts if that cable snap and as low as he or she had the rails the cable would have come through the back windshield. Been doing rolloff for years. Keep them rails above the cab because if the cable snap atleast the driver is ok!!
Those leaf springs and shocks are fukt
That's a normal day on a roll off
If at any point you come off the ground you don’t know what you’re doing , I’ve been doing this for 10plus years and not once has my truck lifted off the ground even with loaded concrete boxes
Yessir!!!!! I had a load of stainless coils one time that shot my truck about 6 feet in the air instantly. Good times😂
That cable snaps and even with cab you’re a goner. Keep backing up to take pressure off the cable and keep your hoise up
Done that many times 😂
Yea that bin loaded
Not supposed to bring down the load until the bin is fully on the truck lol
That poor poor frame
Overweight much?
Full of river rocks.
17T in the can is 59,000 GVW. I'm not overweight and there are times that 17 can be loaded, to pick the front end
You have the 3 axel just to brake the truck .😅
That was wrong, he could have snapped the cable.
My hell ! He's going to hurt or kill himself doing stuff like that . Lift the rail up of the bin is that heavy . Besides it's easier on the equipment
No experience
He’s a friend dude
Okay okay I think it’s just a scam scam
🎉🎉🎉
Every roll-off driver gets these loads. Nothing special.
Not driver 🤦🏻♂️
