Love these old cars! I bought my 67 SS396/375 ( L78/4K ) in Aug of 67. Car was built in July. Its Butternut Yellow/Black interior with radio delete, 4:56 rear end and Muncie M21. I still have it and its an original numbers matching car. I enjoy driving it today almost as much as in 67!
Man, really? You still have it today?
Ever want to sell it let me know please
That year my first new car=== 1967 SS Camaro Marina Blue special ordered 396 , 4 speed Muncie trans it was an early order , it had an L-84 (375) h/p , rear ratio was 3.08, later I bought 4.10 posi . I still have the purchase order. $ 3,995.00 ran 12 .10 @ pomona . Thanks for the memories.
damn i always love a factory big block camaro. Hats of to the owners that made copo demands for 396/427 camaros. At first i didnt like the paint, then the top went down and i saw the interior pretty damn sexy
I want it sooooo bad. I was born in 67. I dream of this car nightly!!! Personal tag would read..oldazme!
Yet another awesome video. thank you guys, your channel is very appreciated.
Beautiful car sharp nice color love that big block
I use to have the 67 Camaro in gold. How do I get this one or one like it for I miss it. Great memories in later 60's and early 70's. Went to the drive in once and pulled in crooked so my football friends and l picked up the rear end by the bumper and moved it closer to the speaker. Just one of my good memories.
Awesome car! I had a friend that had a 67 396 four speed convertible, in mint green with a black interior. Makes me wonder if it was the higher horsepower 396.
Does the brothers collection have any 65 Riviera's? Maybe a dual four barrel car?
In 1980 I saw a brand new Corvette with a factory installed 454 complete with the emissions sticker on the rad
mcinkyt odd.
A friends dad owned a GM dealership until the late 70's. The last year you could ''officially'' buy a C10 with a 454 was 1975, they ordered and sold several until 1978. The order would be rejected 3 times and the 4th it would be confirmed and the truck would be built and delivered
mcinkyt fascinating! Fun story.
That's gotta be worth some money due to it's rarity, even though it's a gutless smog choked 454 from 1980
Not believing that happened for one sec esp from the factory.
Sweet!!
Thanks for doing these videos fellas. Great content. I really wish you guys had way more subscribers. Ever think of doing some shameless self promotion on a few automotive websites?
I love everything but the gold color. Man that is a sweet ride but it needs to be black or red or really anything other than Gold. Oh well, it's a super rare car and I would be happy to own it as is.
I like the understated gold color. Draws way less attention from the pigs
Sweet car and the Dog Dish caps for that unsuspecting sleeper
a "sleeper" wouldn't have a 396 badge on the front fender... LOL
Cool car, though that's not the "Custom Interior." And anyone who wanted the latest thing in 67 would have checked the box for the power disc brake option, which would have included the newly introduced rally wheels and unique 67 only hubcaps... instead of those now trendy Gramma hubcaps.
Why so many convertibles?
I hate convertibles. The roofline is a big part of the styling on many cars and the convertible top ruins that
I don't like muscle cars that are convertibles. Some drop tops are cool though
A shame the clock wasn't working - wondering how many other details were skipped over?
Hard to say. I well remember that the clocks often failed after just a year or two when these cars were new. I wouldn't assume that the restoration was exceptional just because the clock worked, nor be suspicious of the rest of the work just because it didn't. But that's just me!
RTLL - Clocks are an easy fix, as are some really silly looking exhaust tips. My antennae rise every time. Corners cut - not good. Makes me think: 'Restoration in Progress' and someone ran out of money, passed away or didn't have a clue.
OK
If I were restoring a 60s car I'd make certain the clock did NOT work to keep the car authentic to the period. :-)
Indy - good excuse to justify everything else not working LOL!!! Think some call it 'patina'!
more idle time please
The wheels and wheel covers make this car.
The real displacement of the "396" was really "402" c.i. G.M had a rule for mid size or smaller cars. nothing over 400 c.i.
It measured 396 cid from it's introduction in '65 through the '69 model year. In 1970 the bore size was changed to give a displacement of 402 cid but they continued to call it the "396" due to it's popularity. Also, 1970 was the first year it was offered in trucks, but it was labeled a "400", which is confusing since the small block 400 was also offered as a "400".
Right. My friend in high school had a 70 SS with the rock crusher 4 speed with posi. It was a blast to drive.
It wasn't 402 cubic inches until 1970. 1965-69 396 are actually 396 ci
