Bought a projector with some of the severance pay when I lost my job a while ago. Nothing extravagant. It's a 1080p BenQ unit from 2016. It was the one pleasure purchase I allowed myself from that money. And you know what? It's easily one of the best purchases I've ever made. I bought a 40 dollar roll-up screen to hang indoors and splurged on a nice 14 foot outdoor screen for the backyard. Life-changing. I don't even feel the need to upgrade at this point and it's been 8 years. Still an amazing experience no matter where I'm using it.
@@jameskupfner Sure, I have. But I'm in no hurry. What I have still looks pretty damn good. The BenQ HT-2050 that I bought still ends up on most recommended lists and still goes for the same price I paid for it in 2016 (sometimes more). Plus, I'm barely half-way through its lamp life. For the handful of times I use it a month, its more than enough.
Nothing like having a projector at home. Watching movies as large as possible in a darkened room is my happy place. The Old Man bought a screen for the lounge. It covers the whole of the wall where the window is. But, do I care no. Need the screen to be able to watch TRON:Legacy in 3D. 😊
Great vid. I'm also looking for a projector atm and you made this seem like a good option. Anyways I like that you don't edit out stutters. Makes the content feel so much more natural in this sea of overly perfect algorithm hunter vids 👍
Love your vid and story share. I'd hundred percent agree that XGIMI had done great job their exterior be exceed way more than their own specification or competitors.
I think what I like about projectors is the versatility which you showed, just taking them with you, using them outdoors and whatnot. It doesn't even matter that much if what you're projecting on is just some random wall. But the bigger thing for me is that the feeling that comes with it. Every time I turn one on it feels like an "experience" whereas TVs feel sterile soon after you get them, it becomes just another screen in your home, you don't randomly move a TV outside or take it to a friend to enjoy it there. As for the screen Elite Screens are good bang for the buck (Still expensive though). Just one with ALR is probably already very good.
The production, how much work you put in this video is amazing striving photographer and one day becoming a filmmaker. I really appreciate your channel. Just watching it two minutes in
I bought a cheap projector because i was traveling to my in-laws out of the country and i wanted to see the playoffs. This was a portable way to bring a tv with me. I have since become obsessed with watching everything on it. I bought a second one for my living room because once you get a taste of the giant screen nothing else is good enough. After a lot of research I'm just fine right now buying a cheap $300 projector it's great for me and for my situation I don't necessarily need 4K but it's bright enough to watch even with some ambient light and great in the yard to watch a movie projected the wall while we lay back in the pool watching it once you go projector nothing else seems big enough.
I have this projector, is not best, but I give you an advice, in front of projection on sealing, try to paint 1 meter with black, if you can, best, do on side walls, or use some cheap mat stiker on cealing/walls, that can be removed when you want. At least 1 meter! This helps alot. Same to you I don't use a projector screen, I just put stiker on cealing 1.20m and a carpet on floor in front of projection that absorb reflexios. I cannot transform my room in a cave like dedicate room, but kiling reflexions and ading dose things, I see an improvment like 30% with black levels, the image is way better. Ps. Sorry for my english. Greetings from Romania!
Hey! That is correct. Netflix isn’t natively available, but Xgimi includes within the box a simple two step process to make Netflix work on the projector.
Would you get a projector?
No, they are too dim. Enjoyed the video though!
@KragonPebble ha! That’s fair but these new ones are pretty bright.

It really is surprising JUST how much a projector adds to your movie experience
@@Downhuman74 You have no idea how much better cheap projectors and high contrast screen s have gotten now days.

Well said and thanks for the screen advice. I’ve been looking at ALR. It most likely the best option.

It’s really shocking how much it affects you. Tv are immediately too small lol
ive never seen anybody show it at 200 inches, the site says it can do that but i wonder how sharp will it be
Good question. 120 inches is the recommended biggest image. I’ll have to test this.
I'm considering the smaller XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro, just want something I can cast a movie from my phone to while also connecting to bluetooth speakers.
