Today we present the famous MADDUR VADA made with millets .
Named after the town Madduru , which is mid way between Bengaluru and Mysuru , where you will find these being sold , everywhere, they make for a perfect travel snack .
They are crispy on the outside , soft and chewy on the inside and can be enjoyed both when hot or even after they are cold.
Munch away on these vadas while sipping on your favorite leaf decoction or caffeine free chick pea coffee

This is a general question on millet savouries. Deep frying using barnyard and little gives a bitter taste when I tried. In one of your videos you said little alone gives bitter taste when deep-fried.. I noticed in barnyard you. Should we avoid these two for deep fry? Also their pohas are bitter. How do u cook them
I have not found problem with the poha
It is not bitter
Yes some others also mentioned barnyard also being bitter when deep fried
In my own experience though I haven’t faced this problem
You can however surely use foxtail and brown top
So this is the first case of combining two types of millets in a single dish!

Dr. Sarla, how will the old, sick, weak, busy, working, living alone people ,soak, sun dry, grind and make these recipies. And above all many don't know from where to buy these millets.
And after that they complain that its not tasty and not comfortable (after few hours it turns dry and stale)
I can only provide you with details on how it has to be made
We don’t eat Maddur vada daily
When it’s made occasionally, some efforts will go into it .
For other recipes you can always make the dough and then allow it to rest for 4 to 6 hours and this will be the soaking time
It’s not always necessary to pre soak dry and then make the flour
We too are busy and working
For the sake of our health we have to be ready to dedicate time and efforts
Of course there is always option of eating only millet rice or idli dosa which do not take any additional efforts

Dr. Sarala garu, as u said i am giving millets to my baby since 8 months starting with little millet, barnyard millet n rest each 15 days. All 4 millet suites baby but, browntop is creating constipation even though i roasted, made rawa n soaked for 10 hrs. Now he is 11 months, any suggestions?
