This case haunts me… every so often I check for updates. Waiting for her to get justice.
same with missy beevers, so mysterious.
You sound like me, except I do that for the Missy Bevers case in Texas. Incidentally, my gut instinct feels like it was a woman who committed the murder in each of these cases.
@@lisabelle7553 Do you think it could be the same woman? ( I don't know if this could even be considered a possibility )
Many cases don’t see justice even in these days of 🧬 and 🎥 🎞📹🤳📸
@@anonymousstrangeness7348 I don't think so because they had very different lifestyles and also they're very far apart because Missy's murder was close to Dallas and this was close to Houston. That would be a crazy twist though, wouldn't it?
Dr Grande: My sister was shot by a man she never met and didn’t know about 37 to 38 years ago. The only reason he was caught is a few months later he tried to shoot my uncle who my sister lived with at the time. He had a previous history of violence and had been stalking my sister though she never noticed him. Some people are just disturbed and you can’t really analyze that high form of irrationality and evil. By the way my sister lived through the shooting though she ended up becoming a paraplegic, being shot in the 13th vertebrae. He missed my uncle who was left unscathed.
So sorry to hear this
Is the piece of shit still in prison?
@@DannyBoy777777 He served eight years in prison and a restraining order was put against him. After that he was free. Many years later apparently he made some confession there was planning on killing three young women. He is now serving a life sentence somewhere in Northern California I think. Before trying to kill my sister she had stabbed his girlfriend’s mother in the back 13 times. She actually lived. Violent people do not belong in the free world.
So Sorry for your family to have to experience such random evil ~
@@gigi9301 That was when I learned that bad things can happen to us and not just other people we read about in the newspapers. Thank you for your kindness.
This case is so baffling and heartbreaking. Liz truly sounds like an amazing woman. I have always gotten the impression it was someone who was jealous of her.
who, Jabba the Hutt?
I think that was the working theory of the investigation, and it sounds like the most credible possibility and motive. Most cosplay people are healthy, normal, creative adults who engage in it for fun. Those groups are unfortunately also attractive to individuals who have mental health issues of the kind that makes their perception of reality distorted. It's not just celebrities who are targeted by people they believe that they have a close/romantic relationship with, so the husband doesn't even have to factor in in this case. The obsession may have been centered around Liz herself. I had a "benign" stalker for years, so those killers are the scariest of all to me... 😱
This is the theory that I immediately thought of as well. I thought someone must be jealous of her life and / or was in love with the husband? I definitely think the killer was part of the cosplay community and knew Liz. I hope they can find the killer soon 🙏🏼 ❤️
But what about Gheghis Khan?
@@JerdMcLean he's dead, bro.
I actually think that she set the alarm in her house in case someone might enter the house while she was busy with the garage sale.
My thoughts, too.
yep this. she didn’t have kids and knew her man would be gone so this makes sense
There is a chance she thought of both of these reasons to set the alarm.
It baffles me how she had robberys happen around her and her husband don't purchase a firearm to protect themselves and anyone else they love and care about and how they saw the truck doing red flags the whole time and he or she slowly walks up while shes completely oblivious to whats happening, but tbh I feel like most cosplay people aren't the type to join the military lol
@@desertgrowndank7256
When some rando intent on killing you shows up, has a conversation for a few seconds, then pulls a gun out, it wouldn't matter how many guns they owned, because she was alone. It would be impractical to have a gun drawn and ready while setting up for a garage sale. She would have been on the ground before she knew what was happening, so even if she had it on her hip, it's very unlikely she could have successfully drawn, aimed and fired between falling over and being shot in the head.
I can’t wait for this case to be solved. It’s absolutely terrible and bizarre what happened to her.
I disagree with Dr. Grande"s conclusion that the husband was not involved. Looking at the evidence I believe the husband set up the murder - it's the only conclusion that makes sense. It wouldn't be first time someone killed their spouse just to avoid the ordeal and financial loss of divorce - and this very plausible motive is not entertained here. The fact that outwardly they had what appeared to be a happy marriage is irrelevant - most couples keep their problems private and often one of the partners is unaware of how discontented the other partner is - this is typically the case in premeditated marital homicides. The killer knew about the unpublicized garage sale, that Liz would be outside setting up at a very early hour, and knew exactly when Sergio was leaving for work - appearing only a few minutes after. There's also evidence the killer may have known about the security cameras both at the home and across the street - hence the probable disguise. All these factors indicate that the killer was informed to a degree far beyond what might be gleaned in casual conversation with Sergio or Liz. There was nothing in anyone's account of Liz's character to support the theory that she could have offended someone so deeply, or evoked such jealousy that they would want to kill her. If Sergio had been the object of someone's romantic attachment he would surely have known who that person was - or at least might be - and shared the information with police. It's extremely improbable that a woman would have murdered Liz to be with Sergio unless she already had a connection to him and reason to believe that her drastic action might succeed in her being with Sergio.
Also someone mentioned that they were having financial issues and she wanted a baby, but he didn't. He also got 500k in life insurance
@@8luvbug Yes I wondered about the insurance after I posted because it is another common motive not mentioned here - 500k solves a lot of financial issues. Heartless bastard had her murdered in cold blood.
I agree
Someone was cooking the books at the company she worked for ? How about that foundation ? How about those organizations she volunteered for ? The women who knew too much ? Saw something she shouldn’t have ?
What if a neighbor rented that truck from Florida ?
Someone wanted her dead that for sure . I just watched the husband in an hour interview. Rarely do the guilty ones go for an interview . He hasn’t taken the insurance money either
Husband is too obvious in this one . I’m playing contrarian it’s something else in this one
I agree with this. It almost has to be the husband it’s just too much info for some to have guessed
For some reason this case has always given me chills... Imagine minding your own business and some crazy person executes you on the spot without warning. And to think this person is probably living their best life and will take this murder to their grave. Chilling.
It's turned me off from doing a garage sale. Though also I've only done two in my life and didn't like the experience anyway.
@@ckp2ator389 It has put me off too... You would think being in a quiet neighborhood like this would have been safe but nope. Didn't stop a seemingly random attack happening on this poor woman with no chance at all. It's sad to think the killer will probably never be caught
@@ckp2ator389 dont let psychos stop you from doing anything. Just always be ready to defend yourself. We all have to live with our head on a swivel these days unfortunately
@@vicvega3614 "these days" ? There are significantly less serial killers "these days" than there were in the 60's, 70's and 80's. The freaking East Side Rapist got away with 11 murders and 60 rapes by breaking in to peoples houses at night in the 70's and wasn't caught until 2020.. 35 years after her stopped the break ins.
The 70's was "the golden age of serial killers". These days, serial killers couldnt get away with that shit these days because technology would have caught them after the first or second murder
There’s a theory that she had a road rage incident the night before with the person in this truck. The person followed her home, which is why they were in the neighborhood the night before, and they just were so angry and mentally ill they waited her out, and took their chance and killed her. I think the killer got extremely lucky and just managed to escape and not be caught on camera by pure chance.
Occam's razor points to this being the most likely reason. Rad rage is more believable to me than unstable cosplayer (There is plenty of them though, as a geek, the community is filled with mental issues) or hit. There is evidence for both the latter interms of not a robbery, etc, but I think the road rage things makes sense.
@@Okuri_Inu_Comic as a geek? Meaning you?
That certainly is within the realm of possibilities. I mean, stranger more far-fetched plans are hatched & executed.
That is an interesting theory. One of the best that I have heard.
Very possible. I went on his Facebook soon after (yes snooping) he was at the gym all happy go lucky laughing emojis, someone called him out and he took his Facebook down. He wasn't acting like a distraught husband. Two things happened either what you said or he had that crap planned. I bet the later.
I can't stop thinking about Liz ! It's been years & no updates 🤦🏾♀️
That's sad. I used to be in the 501st Legion the Star Wars cosplay group Liz was in. I retired from it in 2007 and the scene changed a lot since then and has grown in popularity. One thing that was apparent when I was involved is the fan cosplay subculture inadvertently attracted people who were very socially dysfunctional and can display unhinged behavior problems. A very small minority of course, but they were integrated in the community. During my time in it, there were a few people kicked out because they were toxic and caused problems with others. One person who was banned from our local group ended up going to prison later on for child molestation. Needless to say we were all relieved he was banned when that news was learned.
Several of my adult kids are in to cosplay, they have told stories of some bizarre from members. They have chosen to leave the ‘groups’, now hearing about Liz I’m really glad for their disassociation in the groups.
What city was Liz in?
@@arbonneladyTN Tomball, Texas
Was Liz and Sergio in that cosplay group or was it just Liz?
Very probably some kind of stalker... female or male alike. Cosplay attracts creeps all the time, I had certain interest in it when I was younger but even at that time I could see that there is a lot of weird people too involved in it.
Dork
This case is terrifying and confounding. The killer and their vehicle were literally caught on camera.
Exactly. How did no camera capture the license plate?
i think it was a rental truck or something
If i were the cops i would look for any video taken on all approaches towards the house. Must have passed 100s of cctv, too, and from.
Shame they got away with this.
Todays drone technology makes it so that you could have a camera platform high up recording 24 hours a day. Wide angle Lenz for max coverage. I believe a gang of murders of a woman police officer were caught with this tech. People would complain about privacy, but it's not a valid argument.
Yeah this person got away with murder at least for now
@annanicole5494 if it was it's the name of the person who rented it would've been apparent
I’m from the next town over where this happened… most people around here think the husband was behind her murder. Possibly his new wife …
Too many coincidences. Last minute garage sale. Stalked the night before to get the layout of the land. Knew the husband wouldn’t take the day off to help with the garage sale. Elizabeth left to go to Starbucks and the killer patiently waited for her to come back alone because they knew she would. Husband leaves and a few minutes later she is killed. Again, how does the killer know/predict their schedules? Not to mention he is the beneficiary of the $500,000 life insurance policy. The parents are the ones raising the reward money and he pledges nothing? Even if the money hasn’t been released to him, he could still pledge a portion of it, but he won’t.
@@Chris-tg3qy and the other issue I have with him is he was alerted about the home alarm but didn't call her to see what was happening? Instead he just rushes home. Her parents called before heading to her house. It's common sense.
@@x2z964 good point
@@Chris-tg3qy none of their actions indicate that they knew what would happen or her schedule, rather that they were watching and waiting for an opportunity. They had been there for quite a while if that opening hadn't happened they might have sat there even longer waiting. Knowing somebody's schedule speaks more to arriving right after the husband left and shooting her and going. It could still have been a murder for hire, that would explain why the person spoke to her, possibly making sure they had the right target. It could have also been some other person that wanted her out of the picture, like was mentioned a romantic rival.
@@jessicaolson490 I beg to differ. The killers definitely knew she would be outside and working the garage sale by herself. Sergio helped with some of the heavier objects and there was no reason to believe he wouldn’t stick around and help with the garage sale unless someone knew his schedule. They knew he wasn’t sticking around. It looks like they had a pretty good idea she would be coming back from Starbucks and that she would be alone. They also didn’t count on their actions being recorded the night before and that morning. Had their actions not been recorded, then we wouldn’t know this was a hit. That would be one possibility, but another possibility would be that this was just a random shooting, but the recordings tell us this was definitely a targeted hit and not random.
I do think they knew she would be outside working a garage sale that morning and they knew approximately what time she would start doing that and that she would be alone. Even though her husband lives in the home with her, they had a pretty good idea he would leave early and before any garage sale traffic started to show up. They knew they had a small window of time to do it. For whatever reason they wanted Sergio gone, but they also needed it done before garage sale shoppers started to show up to avoid witnesses.
As far as what they said to her, it’s my understanding it was a derogatory comment. I believe the police are able to make out some of it and it doesn’t sound like they were confirming her name. The note was odd, but could have been meant to throw off the investigation by appearing to be something it wasn’t. It could have been left there to make the police think it was a random garage sale shopper or that it would point to someone else intentionally to take the eyes off of the real motive. Since the entire shooting is on camera the note may not make a lot of sense. The note could be a red herring. Notes and messages left at a murder scene oftentimes are meant to throw off the investigation.
A straight hit. Nothing taken. A very direct route to the victim who was shot a 4th time to ensure the mission was accomplished. I'm so sorry it happened and am perplexed as to how the perp has not been caught with video evidence and a return to the scene. Crazy
I do wonder if the police know more than they're saying, but don't have enough evidence to make a conviction stick. There was no contact, so no DNA. They took the murder weapon with them. Grainy videos aren't definitive enough to really nail down anything. It may be a case of someone needing to talk.
I think the killer killed the wrong person.wrong address.
@@ToniHunterOne Same here.
Could be someone from out of town who left immediately for where they reside. The husband is definitely the main one responsible.
They probably used the car for a very short time, but still, if it was rented, there would be records.
An interesting case. Perhaps a female who had a romantic fixation on Sergio and who wanted the wife out of the picture unbeknown to Sergio. As pointed out, the individual knew about the garage sale; picked an appointed time; evidently had an idea when Sergio would leave; allowed Elizabeth to approach them; and then shot her by thrusting the gun forward--which strikes me more a move an inexperienced female shooter may use. Returning to the scene and driving down a dead-end street indicates a desperate suspect in total disarray.
Definitely had to be a obsessed nerd who was fixated
@No Way 😂😂😂i was gonna coment this too!!
like you said he s not rich first of all , then the looks 😬
@No Way you never know, nowadays people act crazy and do crazy things beyond our imagination.
@No Way I believe he was the beneficiary of Elizabeth’s $500,000 life insurance policy so he might be considered rich.
Have you seen Sergio?
This case kinda reminds me of the clown costumed lady that delivered flowers to the wife of the man that she wanted, and shot the wife. Took authorities 27 years to solve that case. I remember this case because I actually ate at the restaurant that the killer clown lady owned before she got arrested. The weird creepy thing is, it was one of the most popular restaurants in town.
Lord...
Sheila Keen-Warren right?
She was suspected soon afterwards. They just didn’t have enough evidence till D.N.A. advances and even now the trial has been postponed again and again.
Buttafucco Buttafucco... Joey Buttafucco!
So why did she shoot her?
Profesional contract killers often use a revolver because automatics tend to jam and they eject shell casings which is evidence.
This case drives me crazy, and I don’t think we’ll ever know who did it or why they did it, unless they grow a guilty conscience and come forward. It’s so sad.
It may take awhile but the case can be solved, the key to solving it is the unique truck. The authorities need to focus on that, maybe intersect Cosplay community and Vehicles.
I saw recently that investigators went to Florida to talk to a POI. I hope this case is solved soon.
Apparently they have a murder weapon so maybe it'll kick off this case again, It is a really terrible murder for apparently no reason so hopefully there's some justice coming
Entry to many gangs and some satanic cults require a confirmed point-blank killing (sometimes of a "good" person)to join. This happens more often than I think anyone credits, and is very plausible here.
@@Thelikebutton123 Honestly if we just annexed the entire cosplay community to Iran we'd all be a lot safer.
The worst part of this case is that Liz seemed like just an incredible woman. She did everything right in life and she still ended up the victim of a senseless, brutal crime. So sad. My condolences to her family and loved ones.
Where was the woman Sergio married (or her closest friends or family) on the day Liz was murdered? How could the police not find the Nissan frontier within all the people who were close to Sergio or Liz?
Obviously the killer wasn't close to them and lived far away possibly in another state. This case really bothers me i want the sob caught
I read something about his new wife having worked at a car dealership
What if it was a rental, borrowed or stolen vehicle? i hate that it seems we have almost all the puzzle pieces except for the most important one.
You'd have to be insane to marry a man whose wife died a mysterious death. The new wife was probably planning all this
Can't no one try to convince me otherwise. Sergio had his hands in it. Motive is there...check that life insurance he collected You'll be shocked..plus he got re-married.a year later.
Several years later, it said here. Do you know different?

I'm also a geek who loves anything from fantasy movies to gaming. And indeed the communities can be very toxic. To them it is LIFE. And you can understand WHY. Because it's their only passion. Outside of work it's what they do; their LIFE. No other hobbies. And things can be taken very seriously. Quarrels are a common thing. And fights and murders do occur. You can google stuff. Dr. Grande- you said that Sergio remarried “ a few years later “ …
Sergio married Amber Cheatham 18 months after Liz’s murder.

Amber Cheatham…she cheats? Cheat ham what a ham
He gained a half a million dollars after she died in life insurance money. That's a pretty huge motivator. Just because they seemed happy, doesn't mean he was happy in the relationship. Also, in interviews, he was completely devoid of emotion. My red flags were seriously going up.
Doctor Grande, I'm amazed ---I was going to ask if you would analyze this case. It's such a senseless horrific crime. Your thoughtful analysis is much appreciated.
I have also bern interested.
I also think it was a female by the running of the suspect.
I’m a shooter, and Dr’s analysis of the way they shot was exactly my thoughts too.
I saw that doorbell recording. Even if I had ill intentions towards someone, the moment that person greets me "Good morning!" in such a cheerful manner Id know I don't have the willpower to follow through. I find it all the more disturbing that the killer didn't get discouraged by her friendliness. Elizabeth seemed like a person Id love to be friends with, she loved her life and cared other people's well-being as well…as much as I agree with Dr. Grane, I do hope she at least gets her justice in the future.
How are people still surprised by the actions of psychopaths?
@@chrisgraham2327 that’s a good question. I am constantly finding myself feeling momentary surprise when I learn of something that I saw coming or should otherwise not be shocked by.
For example, I follow politics and yet find myself feeling this shocked sensation pretty regularly, despite the fact that I’m fully aware of the corruption of most politicians and the high percentage of psychopathy in government.
I spend a large amount of time each day, however, making an effort to be virtuous. Much of my decision making and thinking is directed by this. I have a bit of a problem in over-doing this, actually.
My theory is that evil behavior is so opposite of my mental habits that it feels impossible for just a split second, because it would be so impossible for me to commit evil acts. Then I remember that most people are lukewarm evil and many are fully evil. And I proceed to wonder why I’m constantly surprised!
It is a weird phenomenon, totally irrational.
I wouldnt care , you have to think in a mind of a killer , no good morning would stop them
this one bummed me out because they genuinely contributed to happiness in the community.
This is the deepest dive and analysis I have heard about this bizarre case. The only other explanation I can think of is mistaken identity. It reminds me a bit of a case here in Australia: the murder of Jane Thurgood-Dove. It remains unsolved.
I am a little suspicious of the husband - I don't know if there was life insurance. It is a hell of a coincidence that the killer just happened to strike after Sergio had left. But who knows. Loved your analysis. Fascinating. Thank you Dr Grande. 😊
I'm suspicious of the husband too, but unlike a lot of cases where it's certain the husband did it (fotos dulos, barry morphew, etc) my only suspicion is based pretty much on coincidence--leaving right before the murder, getting married so soon after, etc. As hard as it is to not be suspicious of him, it's like they say... coincidences do happen, that's why there's a word for it.

The cosplay community is very competitive. I wonder if she was on any forums or involved more locally with groups. A lot of these people also have social struggles and mental issues, using cosplay as escapism. I’m certain she was killed by someone in that community. Would stand to reason going through registered trucks and finding someone with ties to cosplay would be a good way to find out. Sadly Ring doorbells of that era are not as HD as today.
501st legion cosplay is quite elitist from what I know as a SW fan.
Wow sounds like a mental health issue in itself lol
I agree completely.
I agree, surely the police also thought this and investigated? Very frustrating
I agree. The manner of the murder just confirms it for me; the dressing gown/ robe and how he handled the gun, the (supposed) fact he owns a wig that's probably something from his cosplay collection.
Looks like your regular Simpsons comic book guy
Because of the stalking behavior of the perp, I wonder if the garage sale had anything to do with it. She would typically leave for work at this time and they may have planned to confront her then, after Sergio left. I'm also not sure if they were actively avoiding the doorbell cam rather than they were approaching from the side with a tree line for more coverage.
That's just my simple observation.
seems she was out of site of it set up to the left . that could just be lucky for the killer
I've heard of this case. It's really sad, I hope whoever did this to her is eventually caught. Her husband and family deserve to know what happened to her. And she deserves justice.
You completed your analysis a while back since then Sergio has come out with a very interesting interview. Fact: Sergio states there was a 500,000 insurance policy on Liz that he didnt know about. He first says he didnt take the insurance money because he didnt need it but follows up with if he ever takes it he will give some of the money to her parents. Im wondering since it was a murder and if hes still under suspicion that the insurance Co. is not releasing it. Also if he doesnt need the money like he said why not use it to help find the killer? Fact: He also said that Liz wasnt worried about any thing or afraid but then he says he told Liz, " If anything happens open the door(the alarm door) and I will come right away.. Why would he say that if truly nothing was going on and Liz wasnt worried about anything? I understand that Liz had her apt robbed and that its a violation, also that she might still be scared, but Sergio said she wasnt? If she was, why have the Garage sale? Would like to know you Analysis on the newer interview.
I think its a woman who shot Liz. The walk, the robe, the hair, and it looks like she had on white boots or boot slippers. But most of all the walk is pissed off woman on a mission!
Liz and the killer may be the only people who know why it happened. Liz may not have told anyone about having an issue with someone because she thought it was taken care of and over. But a grudge was kept for sure. Three places to look, Liz's work, Sergio's work, or the cosplay group.
I think about this case a lot because its so incredibly tragic. It seems this woman had no skeletons in her closet but someone came after her anyway, thats scary.
RIP Liz and I hope Sergio is healing.
I agree with you, this person moves like a woman and has feminine legs. She's probably someone who never let on that she harbored a grudge against Liz.
Cases like this always terrify me the most. You can be doing everything right in your life, have no problems or enemies, being safe and treating everyone around you well, and still someone can appear out of nowhere and shoot you in the head for no reason.
I don't think you can rule out Sergio. Suspects are only cleared until, when and if new evidence becomes available to give the police a reason to investigate them further.
Agree.
This crime seems so deliberate. Elizabeth was actually stalked first and the timing is perfect.
Sad story Dr Grande! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Who would know all of their actions that morning within minutes, including the spontaneous trip to Starbucks? How would they know that she would be right back and alone? The answer to those questions will most likely be the person who is was behind the crime. If it was an enemy or some unknown stalker they wouldn’t be in her inner circle and know those things, especially the Starbucks trip.
The timing of the husband leaving and her killer arriving cannot be a coincidence, he received a $500,000 life insurance settlement and remarried not long after, hard to believe he wasn't involved
I feel the same way. I think they need to investigate both him and the new wife. There are too many "coincidences" in this case.
Don’t be stupid. He married several years later, which is not strange. And it wasn’t a coincidence because the killer didn’t want him to be there to prevent the murder.

A half a million dollars is a huge motivator. And I've watched interviews of Sergio, and something about him just doesn't sit well with me. He was either involved or has some kind of knowledge.. He was also void of emotion in interviews. There was just nothing there. My red flags were going up..
I’d take a close look at the husband… the killer seemed to know her exact schedule… seemingly down to the minute… almost as if they were in contact with someone close to her.
She wore the storm trooper outfit to wear to children's hospitals for charity and the delight of the children. I feel that should be mentioned.
It was.
Geeze, nothing is safe anymore, not even having a yard sale to unload some of your junk. I hope Liz gets justice. I hadnt heard about this case until now and it's definitely bizarre especially the wacky disquise by the killer
Liz had a big life insurance policy that is a big motive!
I have heard of this insane story. Very interested to hear Grande’s take. Thanks, Grande.
I remember this story as well. At the time I learned about it the case was unsolved. They never identified the killer.
@@curtisjeffries9640 It's still unsolved.
Your cat must be a great driver, by now! 🙂
I've always believed that whoever did this feels justified in ridding the world of this poor woman, like the perpetrator was merely squishing a bug.
Thank you, Dr. Grande. I want this case solved so bad, i agree that the killer was not familiar with firearms. I also badly want the Missy Bevers case solved, both happened in my state, Texas.
gun happy red state
Idk why I feel like it’s the husband. I know that’s typical but idk leaving and then she gets murdered super odd
I disagree with you . I think her husband took a hit out on her. I find it ironic that this happened right before their wedding anniversary. It could have been triggering to him. She had a big insurance policy. It's like he wanted it done when he was not there to disassociate himself from it. He did not smile that big in any picture with Liz.Probably spent some of that insurance money on her.If they were private people you wouldn't know they were having problems. Some people hold it inside and hide their feelings. Look at Scott Peterson. Sergio could have been sneaky . No marriage is that perfect as they profess it was .
That has lover, ex lover, the other woman, the scorned other woman written all over it.
And follow the money.
Nope.... I say take a long, hard look at Sergio's parents..... and research the Paula Zahn story on this case for more red flags.....
To me, it has money, money, money written all over it.
It is pretty obviously the husband, killed minutes after he leaves, right before big trip to Orlando (that presumably doesn't want to go on), killer in an executed fashion in broad daylight ( usually spouses take hits out on their significant other when they want them dead and to not be tied to crime), he remarries shortly after, sells the house, and most likely received some sort of life insurance payout from her death.
Half a million insurance payout
How could the police not find the vehicle?
There were two suspects involved - the shooter and getaway driver.
To me it seems to have been a woman, and the idea that she was someone harboring vindictiveness from an imagined slight is spot on. Classic vulnerable narcissist.
Possibly a woman that had romantic feelings for Sergio. The police must have checked out his new wife, but I thought it was odd Sergio would remarry 2 to 3 years after his wife got murdered. It’s look Elizabeth got shot, and he immediately started dating.
@@michaelperez9966 How is that odd? 2 to 3 years is more than enough time to mourn and move on. He shouldn't have to be single forever.
@@johnhawthorn5393 I didn’t say he had to be single forever. If Sergio got married 2 to 3 years later, that would suggest he was dating weeks or months after her murder. It looks to me like he didn’t care all that much about Elizabeth.
There is Ring doorbell audio where you can hear a male voice speaking to Liz.
@@michaelperez9966 That does not suggest anything. Some people get married in just a few months prior to meeting each other. You're just inserting your own personal feelings in this case.
Thank you for this Analysis, Dr. Grande. It’s such a baffling and sad case. While it’s easy to jump to “the husband did it” conclusion, I’m glad you highlighted the likelihood of Sergio being innocent. The fact is they know where to find him if something does come back to him. Hopefully the investigators have a lot more than they’re letting on.
He is still a suspect. If he was cleared the life insurance would have been paid out. I don’t think he has received it.
Todd you are honestly my favorite "celebrity" ever.... I'm dead serious actors are just that and sports us not my thing
Me too I'm addicted to his videos lol 😆
Amazing that killer avoided the door camera like they planned it that way.
Or knew where it was
Dr. Grade always making my Friday nights that much better. Thanks, doc
Your whole life can change so quickly. Random events or a simple mistake and life is never the same.
Had to be someone involved with the husband in some way. It can only be the husband behind this.
Why would the killer drive back past the scene to make sure she was dead? *Because she knew their face.*
Some Redditors seem to think she was Sergio's lover & he was having an affair. This was my 1st thought... an Amy Fisher type thing.
It’s clear his current wife was the girl on the video
I'm so sorry, I'm never having a garage sale again.
My ex had garage sales every week ... 😏
By the same logic, you might as well not do anything ever again..
Thank you for covering her case.
That was 99.9% not a woman running away but I could be 1% wrong. How much was the life insurance on her again? They owned the house right, no children so who was the sole beneficiary? The perpetrator knew what angle the camera on the house was positioned so calculated not to get caught on it..That murder was well planned ahead of time. I would really question who brought the idea of that particular garage sale to "buy" souvenirs on their upcoming trip since they didn't have any economical problems but unfortunately, she died so that little detail will never be answered truthfully. I smell fish yet I'm not insinuating anything 🤔
Hello Dr Grande 🖐️♥️.....this is weird..I was watching the video of her getting shot a few hours ago. This was a really odd case. And even stranger they have not even a suspect. I'm glad you brought this case up. Your analysis is spot on as always. Thank you. ❤️🌹
I still think it has to do with Sergio.
I say the husband had something to do it.
If her husband has been cleared 100%, could this have been a case of mistaken identity? The shooter looked to be a female, by seeing her stance and gait and the way "she" thrust her hand forward while shooting the gun. I can't see a guy doing that as most guys would be better able to handle a revolver. The whole thing is so strange. Poor Liz. That's so tragic.
Life Insurance policy?
Love these late night videos!! Thank you Dr. Grande
This case reminds me Daniela Cecchin, who is an infamous italian murder. She was an instable woman in her mid 40s without a family, that one day by chance, recognized in the street a fellow student of university, who 20 years earlier was kind with her. He owned a pharmacy in Florence, he had a nice wife and family. Daniela started to develop a deep hate for his wife (Rossana D'Aniello) because she thought that she has stolen what could have been her life. On Saturday morning, when her husband was at work, she pretended to be a courier to deliver a package to Rossana, and she stabber her to death. I see many similarities to this case, an homicide without a motive, carefully planned by a person full of hate . The husband did not even remember Daniela Cecchin when she was arrested, as she made the big mistake to stalk the victim before by calling her and this is how they have found her. I would not be surprised that something similar has happened
Every time I watch Dr. grandes videos, he amazes me of how he analyzes every detail never misses anything flawless
What a sad case.😢The worst part is that the killer is out there walking freely and may never be caught.
Thank you for this review, Dr. Grande.❤
Karma will get them. There's no hiding from that.
And may do this again!
He may have committed the perfect crime, but there's only one person who knew there was a garage sale, and had a motive to get rid of Liz.
Why didn't anyone write down the license plate number of the truck?
This case reminds me of the Missy Beavers case where the perp dressed in a police uniform waited at the church for her exercise class. Caught on tape but never been caught but clearly wanted her gone.
Could you imagine if someone in the neighbourhood owned that truck, or there was a safe house nearby? I agree with the cosplay angle. Can't the police track cell phone data on the morning of the crime? I thought that was how they caught on to the Long Island killer.
Dr. Yoda: “Diagnosing, I am not. Analyzing with giving opinion I am.”
@The Hydro Store - 🤣😁👍
I'm sure that someone who could be angered by such an insult to the point of homicide by a casual comment like that would be killing lots of people.
It’s just so shocking that this happened.. unreal.

He wasn't upset. I went on his Facebook soon after this happened. He was happy go lucky working out at the gym. Someone called him out on Facebook and he took down his Facebook. Sergio knows exactly what happened, he wasn't grief stricken husband.
Agreed. Yes, people react differently after such events, but he was completely void of emotion. And I'm not talking right after the event when one is still in shock.. Interviews... there was just nothing. My intuitions was sending up red flags. And he benefitted a half a million dollars in life insurance after she died. That's a lot of money. Just because they seemed happy, doesn't mean he was happy in the relationship.
@@wendigo1919 He married 3yrs later right? If you think about it, he had to have been seeing the other woman already, I highly doubt he met someone without some type of courtship. Yes, I'm a damn Detective 🕵️♂️ all women are! (Had to to get that out) Sergio you are a Rat 🐀!
Great analysis, Dr. Grande. I've watched other coverage of this case. Your analysis addresses questions I've had. I like your theory about someone from the Star Wars community seeking revenge for some imagined offense. The killer does appear to have on something that could be worn by a character. I think I remember hearing he pointed at the helmet they had for sale. That may be how the perpetrator found out about the garage sale. Maybe they mentioned it at a gathering.
This case breaks my heart because she gave back to the community and they were gonna head to Disney where I’m sure she was excited for the Star Wars theme Park
I honestly hope it solved
There’s needs to be Justice for Elizabeth and her family ❤️
It looks like she greets the attacker warmley then is taken by suprise by seeing the gun as she takes a step back in fear. Such a sensless murder
Doc, I should be sleeping as always but this is a routine for me now. I want Justice for Liz!!! Thank u!
This is sad. Thanks for covering
Good afternoon Dr Grande . Yet another senseless and tragic murder of an innocent and caring woman. I believe they won't find her killer. Your analysis says it all. Thank you Dr Grande. Brilliant analysis, tragic outcome and informative topic.

Dear Dr. Grande, what a sad case. Liz and her husband seemed good together and happy! RIP dear Liz. Thank you for such a good analysis. Have a great weekend💕from Jean
It’s Grande time! Let’s do this. ❤
he made sure she would be outside and alone tending to the garage sale. he signaled to the perpetrator that she was there and vulnerable when he left for work, giving himself an alibi and ensuring that things would go as planned. apparently her life insurance policy doubled to 500k in the event of a murder so he had motive and would know the exact timeline required for opportunity. now the question is who is close enough to him to where they don't need to communicate electronically and where any payment could be shared without causing suspicion? they'll have to extend the search to the friends and family of him and his new wife's friends and family in order to find the gun/truck combo. it's only a matter of time.
Sergio can insist that they had a good marriage and he very much loved Liz all he wants but the cynic in me says otherwise. This brutal murder was either carried out by his new wife killing her or a murder-for-hire scenario. Frankly, to me the killer moved with the gait of a female ergo I suspect it was likely his new wife and the motive was to be free of the marriage and to receive a large insurance settlement. I'm sure they checked his cell phone to see if he called someone in the area immediately after he left the home to inform them she was alone with no customers around, so if that showed nothing then he used a burner phone and the killer possibly had one also. Since the killer seemed unfamiliar with guns then it increases my suspicion it is his new wife. No one but him had the motive to kill her.
I'm sure he was thoroughly investigated as the only known suspect, and I doubt he is a criminal mastermind.
Exactly my opinion as well. I’ve followed this case very closely and I’ve done a lot of my own research. After watching Sergio’s eulogy at Liz’s memorial and watching his interviews on the Dateline episode my suspicions grew.
@@danidragonfly How was he acting at these occasions?
I have to agree. I've lived long enough to learn that money truly is the root of all evil and 500k is a LOT of money.
People have been killed for a lot less.
If someone in that cosplay group had ill will towards her I think based on the way they drove the truck and shot the gun their other behavior would have been full of tells.
Everything points to the husband being in on it somehow.
@@urbanstrider to me he came across very clinical and unemotional. His facial expressions did not match his words/sentiment.
The fact that the killer is still out there walking free is just terrible yet heartbreaking for Liz and her family.

@@RickyCorona Yes for about tree years..lol
Financially responsible? Drives to Starbucks for coffee to drink at home.
I just read an article where they interviewed the spouse and he did indicate they put up two signs the night before. One at the entrance to their neighborhood and one down the road (this is where the opportunity part could come into play). It could be a crime of opportunity if that is the case and would explain why the truck went down a dead end street after leaving. They were waiting for the husband to leave and pounced.
What about motive?
@@margaretr5701 sometimes killers don’t need a motive other than their need to kill. They see an opportunity and seize it. Years ago my car slipped off the highway into the shoulder because of icey conditions. This was early nineties. A guy came along and offered to give me a ride into town just a few miles up the road. I was hesitant and red flags went up. Thankfully another guy with a big truck and electric winch came by and offered to pull me out. The other guy looked almost angry but didn’t say anything. That’s opportunity. He may not have had I’ll intentions but I may never know how close I came.
I think Liz would have really liked your Phantom Menace reference, Doctor Grande. May she rest in peace, and may the force be with her, always.
