Great video, I rescued 2 orchids that were on their way out at a supermarket last week, they’ve perked right up with some complete crap orchid spray , and a 15 minute water soak , but now I need to repot them I’d say... all I could get at the diy/garden centre atm was a huge bag of decorative bark for the garden , so I’ll cut them down to size and heat 🤗
Thanks for making this video 🥰

I love how simple, humble and down to earth most Asians are, my brother bought me from Malaysia my favorite flower an orchid which is the best gift i've ever got (and I've got gold as gifts before) so I started searching how to pot it and take care of it, I watched so many videos and all of them were like buy this buy that !!! I checked the prices and the care alone would cost more than 10 orchids, All the happiness of the gift went away I was stressed out, anxious and sad until your video ❤
May Allah bless you and your family
    Thank you so much

Thank you for this wonderful video. I like that you reuse things like coconut shells. I am a little concerned about taking bark off of a live tree, because that bark is needed by the tree and can potentially expose it to disease. I have a question about growing Orchid in soil. Few months back, unknowingly, we had planted an Orchid plant bought from nursery into our home garden soil (red soil) and it also bloomed last September. It also has given rise to a new orchid plant just close to it (maybe through seed dispersal). Due to some irregular watering, the stem that bears the flowers dried out completely till the base and so needed it to be pruned. Now, 1) can we expect it to grow a fresh new stem for flowering next time?2) or do you think instead of the soil, should it be transferred to a pot as you show?3) when is the next blossom time in South India? Thanks much for all the info.

    • @GardeningismyPassion

      Marie
For sterilization there is no fixed temperature. However, it should be at least 90 degrees Celsius for at least 15 minutes so that all the microbes are dead. If you set higher temp.for shorter period there is no harm.
