Thanks for the info. Was searching for ideas to repot my orchids that i got as a gift
Great video, I rescued 2 orchids that were on their way out at a supermarket last week, they’ve perked right up with some complete crap orchid spray , and a 15 minute water soak , but now I need to repot them I’d say... all I could get at the diy/garden centre atm was a huge bag of decorative bark for the garden , so I’ll cut them down to size and heat 🤗
Thanks for making this video 🥰
O my god ! Complete CARE orchid spray * lol
I love how simple, humble and down to earth most Asians are, my brother bought me from Malaysia my favorite flower an orchid which is the best gift i've ever got (and I've got gold as gifts before) so I started searching how to pot it and take care of it, I watched so many videos and all of them were like buy this buy that !!! I checked the prices and the care alone would cost more than 10 orchids, All the happiness of the gift went away I was stressed out, anxious and sad until your video ❤
May Allah bless you and your family
Thank you so much

Paphiopedilum is a terrestrial or soil dweller orchids, while phalaenopsis is epiphytes or tree dwelling orchids. So they are totally different. However, both can be grown at home with different potting mix.

Dr. Agarwala, this is such a wonderful and helpful video. I was looking at the fallen twigs and some branches of the mango tree in my garden and I wanted to salvage the bark. can we grow orchids in Delhi weather? What special care should be taken?
Thank you for this wonderful video. I like that you reuse things like coconut shells. I am a little concerned about taking bark off of a live tree, because that bark is needed by the tree and can potentially expose it to disease. Do you know of an alternative to taking bark off a tree? Could one use wood chips instead?
Jax Negrete it’s easy to put coconut chips. They’re available online if you dont wanna do all the work. It works best for orchids
Dear Sir, while taking out coconut chunk from the surrounded plant or seedling of orchid, is there any harm if some of the roots might have been damaged or torn off...? Will it hamper the growth of plants in near future. Sir, please reply...at this stage I am confused

I have a question about growing Orchid in soil. Few months back, unknowingly, we had planted an Orchid plant bought from nursery into our home garden soil (red soil) and it also bloomed last September. It also has given rise to a new orchid plant just close to it (maybe through seed dispersal). Due to some irregular watering, the stem that bears the flowers dried out completely till the base and so needed it to be pruned. Now, 1) can we expect it to grow a fresh new stem for flowering next time?2) or do you think instead of the soil, should it be transferred to a pot as you show?3) when is the next blossom time in South India? Thanks much for all the info.
I love your videos (and of course, orchids...) Can you please tell me if I am sterilizing bark in the oven on a baking sheet, at what temperature do I need to set the oven? Thanks very much!
Marie
For sterilization there is no fixed temperature. However, it should be at least 90 degrees Celsius for at least 15 minutes so that all the microbes are dead. If you set higher temp.for shorter period there is no harm.
Thank you! : )
Can we boil the berk in hot water for one hour
