    Good review. I've had one for four years now. The unit itself is heavy duty as you have noted. However, the accessories-hose and water head are complete junk. The guys at Waterport have been good to work with and responsive to my original warranty issues, but I have now given up on using the unit. Even in bright sun light in warm conditions it takes much longer than two hours to heat up. I thought it was going to be the perfect accessory but now it is just a piece of plastic living in the storage room at the bottom of all my camping gear. I pull out the plastic Solar Shower and hang it up for quicker hot water and a whole lot cheaper.

    I'm a fan of the Big Kahuna shower system. It pressurizes water via a 12V pump that plugs into a vehicle cigarette lighter or portable battery pack. In addition, there's a heating element accessory to create hot water. I also a fan of the Geyser shower system because it provides a decent shower using a tiny amount of water.

    some of the other outside style showers that have caught my eye are: CampLux, Rinse Kit, and Yakima Road Shower

    Good replacement for bucket and ladle. The only problem, pressure will not help to save limited water. So the ladle wins 100% in all respects (except imitating shower at home).

    Great job brotha! I've been looking at shower options for vans and this seems like a great start.

    Realistically, though. This costs $150. How much better is this compared to a simple solution like a pressurized garden sprayer you can get at homedepot for $20? Those sprayers usually go up to 2 gallons, you can pump them up to 40-60 PSI, and you can mount the sprayer on the van the same way you did with the sink faucet.

    • @AnkeneyVanBuilds
      @AnkeneyVanBuilds  3 года назад +2

      Solid argument Isaac. I’d say the biggest advantage you’re spending your money on is:
      -The super durable plastic (which is also food grade)
      -The insulated and heat absorbing plastic for warm water
      -The various shower head options
      -And all the mounting options.
      But vanlife is all about what your willing to sacrifice. So if buying a garden sprayer is worth the money saved in your opinion go for it!!

    Cannot seem to find an answer for this anywhere. How long does a shower typically last on a full pressurized tank? I know the manual states that it’s good for roughly ~3 showers, but that’s pretty subjective I’d imagine. If I ran the shower head continuously, when pressurized, let’s say in “shower mode.” How long will the water run until the tank is empty?

    Thanks for this review!
    I was thinking the same thing, heat water on the stove top. Is the spout wide enough to pour into and is the holding tank capable of boiling water? Thinking about the plastics. Even though it would slightly cool down mixed with the existing water inside?

    • @AnkeneyVanBuilds
      @AnkeneyVanBuilds  3 года назад +2

      You’re very welcome! The food grade plastic is safe to put boiling water in it!!! The spout is pretty wide. I’d say maybe 4” diameter (just guessing) but a simple funnel would work too

    Like that it's simple. Did you buy the quick connect some place else or did it come with it? I also thought you could leave in the front seat in the sun...

    I’ve watched reviews on here that the connectors can pop off and spray water everywhere. I’m hoping to mount this to the inside of my vehicle so connectors popping off would kinda be a deal breaker. Now you’ve had it a while it would be good to know if you’ve experience this?
