- At Computex 2024 Adam had a chance to ask Nick from @GearSeekers what he thinks makes a great PC case. Also, Leo from @KitGuruTech crashes the party for a bit to talk about backside connectors.

Thanks for having me on Adam! I love the PCWorld family so much! This is one of those videos that Adam have tried to make for about 2-3 years!
Looking forward to the Montech King 95 GearSeekers Edition case! Each detail made it sound better and better. Silver, dark tinted glass, aluminium (aluminum 🇺🇲) I/O, GearSeekers logo...😎 Should be good value, too, if it's not above $200 USD.
Always good to chat with you guys - hopefully get to see you again soon ! - KG Team
HELLO ADAM AND NICK
Leo came and started talking about the backside 😅 Family show quickly turned into PG 😂
Classic Leo lol!
Whoever did the AI translations for the Kitguru Computex awards video needs to make a Leo "Mobo Got Back" music video next 😁
It was a beautiful thing, and a tragedy I had barely finished eating a questionable bagel when the chaps called me over.
Leo
One of the few youtube channels that actually knows their stuff and has experience with rack mount server chassis.
So price and looks are what really doesn't matter. performance, compatibility and durability does.
Love Adam, another great video from PCWorld!
For me, Fractal design focus G in mystic red. Took the two included front 120mm fans and moved them to the rear and top of the case then put in two 140mm fans in the front. great airflow, and red for my all AMD build.
Air Flow & Cooling is #1.
For me, the best case I've ever owned is the Thermaltake CTE C750 Air. I really like the way it has a ton of room for water-cooling, and I love that the motherboard is rotated 90 degrees with the I/O at the top. That allows the GPU to hand straight down so there is zero sag. Also, it was only $179.
You know what needs to come back to PC cases? The IBM XT power switch.
Cool that he's helping design a case. I'm not a big fan of glass cases though.
What makes a good case?
Easy: It has to be big - so big it can house 6 months worth of Cheetos. A must is also integrated LCD/OLED displays. That makes it pretty much an AIO computer -- saves cost as no more external monitor is required (giving one the budget to purchase 6 months worth of Cheetos), therefore saving desk space, and avoiding cable clutter one always struggles with when using external monitors. Also, a good case needs all-around glass panels and rainbow lighting across the entire visible EM spectrum. Because, often one's eyes get tired from staring at them displays and one needs to calm their eyes by setting them on some good old 70's rainbow disco (and it also makes it easier to find the Cheetos one bought about half a year earlier...).
So I want my case to be upgradeable and customizable. In the old days anytime some new connectors came into existence you could buy a 5.25 inch bay with whatever connectors you wanted and were good to go. we've reached the point where most cases have the same features with the same core chassis. I wanted to add a USB-C and to do that I needed to 3D print front panel housing or Dremel out a hole. Or buy a new case that looks basically the same as my old case and has the same functionality. Very few cases have unique functionality or aesthetics. It's a box with vents for fans.
You see those King 95s from Montech? They've got curved glass. Curved. Glass.
Nick is awesome
Fans are the first thing I replace.
Number one should be ergonomics, because here cases differ the most and it determines if you will like your case or hate it. All of these times when you clean or install something, so rare, but many in the long run. Quality is also important for mitigating noise or vibrations. Good filtering too - case is to protect from it's definition and you don't want to clean it too often. Recently people are absurdly into airflow when most of the builds barely need some, so don't benefit from higher one - it's this stupid fear of components going bad from however higher temperatures.
Ooh, I think the silver colour is a mistake. I wouldn't have anything metal-coloured on my desk because nothing else is...
i don't care for backside connectors. i actually like the look of having wires neatly routed in the case.
Silver, the other beige.
First! 🎉 Love gear seekers channel!
Price, then functionality. Every time. I'm not making a furniture.
Good case design is where maximum functionality meets the minimum size. Aesthetics is just the sugarcoat.
Wonder if he still uses a Linus screwdriver as a pointer, for cheap likes 🤔
