      meh...it's possible to get a 2 factor fall on that and those looks to be dyneema runners. You'd probably have to be right up at a cable attachment point and have no give on the cable. But yeah I'd probably at least got for a sewn lanyard with some dynamic properties or maybe a connect adjust...but then how would you fit all those GoPro batteries into that tiny distance pack? Probably could have used some Valhalla phosphate meat at the summit to power the way down!

      If you don't fall, you don't need the kit so just don't fall.
      For this one I guess I would have brought the full kit as well, especially having the option to rest should be nice on something that demanding. Everything up to C I do without any kit. People with it don't want to fall, I just really really don't want to fall.

    Hi, nice vid as usual. I watch them all, way for me to see US mountains in good quality, nicely shot and edited, plus dry humour and a dumb mountain action here and there, similar to how we do it here in Poland as well heh.
    Btw one day when in Europe, you could visit Tatry Mountains in Poland/Slovakia.
    Route example, start in Morskie Oko, by trail (or not heh) to Rysy peak for higest in Poland, from sumit through Żabi Koń for a nice legendary ridge and further thrugh Wołowa ridge to Mięguszowieckie peaks for some classic summits, and you can still climb Mnich on the way down heh..
    Next day or sth, on Slovak side go the Martin's route or Tatarka to Gerlach for highest in Tatry and whole Carpathian mountains. Then maybe, if in love already, the magnificient Widły ridge from Kieżmarski to Łomnica or Kończysta ridge, there's a lot, it's a small range coverage - wise but really feisty and revered here between Polacks, Slovaks, Czechs and Hungarians. Anyway it's all in details on summitpost for example.
    Other countries, Slovenia has the beautiful Julian Alps, Romania the really wild, proper Dracula style part of Carpathians, Montenegro/ Albania the also feisty Accursed Mountains, Greece Olympus ofc that's one known mountain heh.

    USING A SLING + CARABINEER LIKE THIS FROM YOUR HARNESS ON A VIA FERRATA IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND CAN EASILY BREAK AND KILL YOU OR BREAK YOUR BACK.
    Long story short, those slings are not meant to absorb shocks and a fall where you are slightly above where you have clipped into the metal cabling could break it. Also putting a knot in the sling reduces it's overall strength of the sling by something like 40 or 60 percent, so it could break even easier on a fall. I'm an avid watcher of MA and adore your content, pretty pls use real via ferrata kit or just free solo it, using gear which probably won't save you in a proper fall can give you false confidence and lead to falling to your death

      @domesticterrorist483 Месяц назад +2

      No, plenty of places to fall to your death on the Matterhorn unless you have a partner and a rope with gear to set protection. Plus you need to do a few rappels and need to be stable in very exposed sections. The Matterhorn is not a via ferrata, only some few sections have fixed ropes. The ropes are 6 cm in diameter. You also need crampons and ice axe and know how to use them (last 150m to the summit).
