For All Mankind - Wreckage (1/2)

- After meticulous planning by former Moon Marine, now domestic terrorist, Charles Bernitz, and with the aid of the regretful Jimmy Stevens, he sets off a massive homemade ordinance at the main office complex at NASA's Johnson Space Center.
This is the FAM universe equivalent of the real-life Oklahoma City Bombing in 1995.
I feel bad for Ed. He's only got his daughter and grandchild left.
Don't forget Danny who he absolutely hates but still treats like his son because of Gordo. So once Danny will reveal he screwed his dead wife I wonder whether Ed will just straight up kill him for it at that point. They kept this one out of season 3 for a reason.
@Phil Failla guilt probably
A soul for a soul unfortunately

Well I've got news for you.
First Shane, then Gordo, now Karen. Ed can’t catch a brake.
Ed legitimately can't go 10 years without a loved one dying
Hell if you think Ed will go ape shit just wait until Danny finds out. Especially after he revealed he still had feelings for her since their affair from season 2.
Ed also had to deal with Danny's shit on Mars and being away from his son trapped on the moon. Just losing a child is bad enough but losing one when you have no way to return is worse.
Now another one: Shane, Gordo, Karen and Kuznetsov
I still think its so heartbreaking Ed and Karen were rekindling their relationship and looked set to reunite. Ed would 100% have returned to Earth to be with his grandson, daughter and Karen again. Without Karen Earth didn't feel like home.
That said, in her death Karen basically got Ed to stay on Mars and without Ed being there during the asteroid heist, Mars would have remained a tiny research base and would never experience the mass investment it's going to now in season 5.
Karen actually done a lot for Mars. She owned the Polaris station. She sold it to Dev. He used it to build the most advanced ship of its era. Her station/ship remains in orbit the gate between Mars and Earth traffic.
She helped get Dev to Mars.
Karen always seemed so uninterested in space in her 20s and 30s. But she really got the entrepreneurial spirit in her 40s and without her a lot actually wouldn't happen
I hope Ed or Kelly name a settlement or station after Karen at some point. She deserves it.
Karen made a mistake with Danny and many turned on her character but if you ask me she was a lonely 45 year old woman going through a rough patch who had a very attractive 20 year old showing interest and flirting and she caved to temptation. She suffered with his stalking and harassment through her 50s for it. She paid her price and suffered enough. Danny anyways was an adult who took advantage of her just as much being lonely and frustrated. Ed always gone and working.
Karen's death hit me even more than Gordo and Tracey.
reminded me so much of the bombing of the federal building in OKC in the 90s.
Oh yeah, I'm assuming there was no waco massacre in this timeline, so the jamestown incident was basically their waco, making this their OKC.
Was in the back of my mind for at least half the season, then I saw the van and started sweating.
I'm sure the plot, design of the bomb, and aftermath were inspired by that event, even if it doesn't have to be the "equivalent" of such in this timeline - that still could have happened (before or after) independently, as could have the Waco massacre and so on. We have to keep in mind that not everything is radically different in their timeline from ours, some things not related to the space race, NASA, the cold war, or certain political roles, could have been the same but not depicted by the show because they aren't relevant to this story. Likewise there are a lot of pop culture references in the show relevant to the time (from our timeline), implying that still much of life and culture was going on in this timeline the same as it did ours.
The studio's footage was literally repurposed OKC Federal Building bombing footage. Just like the footage for the signing of the "Moon Treaty" was footage of the INF Treaty signing from our time.
I can see how this may turn out to be very difficult for Ed as both of Gordo’s kids have caused so much damage. None of this would have happened without out their issues. Danny’s issues cost lives on Mars and jimmy’s misguided loyalty contributed to Karen’s (and many others) death.
I wouldn't put this on jimmy, with or without him they were gonna bomb JSC, at best he was probably going to be their scapegoat.
@@murciadoxial8056 Jimmy could have reported what he knew.
SO many lives would've been saved had Gordo and Tracy used contraception~
@@orionaquila420 the only tragedy that can be directly linked to their offspring is the helios landslide on mars, the JSC bombing had nothing to do with jimmy and it would've happened regardless of jimmy existing or not
@@murciadoxial8056 fair, but it feels like you're implying that the Helios landslide wasn't that big of a deal~
Didn't that almost kill, like, everyone?
Oklahoma City vibes of '95
Literally, Oklahoma city's bombing and 9/11 put together (remember nothing like 9/11 or three-mile island happened so this is the worst incident for US other than close nuclear war)
Love the series. Hate that they are killing off the most interesting characters. I've watched a number of series that took out main characters. It's almost always a slippery slope from there. But I'm waiting for season 4. If what they wrote in seasons 1-3 was any indication, the writers will come through on season 4. In the meantime, I'm watching Ted Lasso and will probably watch See.
Can you upload the scene with Ed calling the North Korean astronaut "little dumpling"? 🥺🤣🤣
I don't speak Hanggul but I suspect he was trying to say "my friend" but mispronounced it. Happens all the time in Mandarin.
If you ever see this, just yank the wires that are connected to the mobile phone. You'll either save countless lives or you'll die with everyone else. What have you got to lose?
Your own life and the lives of everyone around you.
No, Karen is dead. 💔💔😓😓 I got OKC bombing vibes and 911.
Directed my Michael Bay
I honestly had no sympathy for Karens death after everything she did. Cheating on Ed in the past and intentionally destroyed their marriage with a kid she practically raised and viewed as a nephew🤢, how her using Danny helped turn him into an obsessive addict, and betraying Dev and taking his job at the company he started when offered it behind the scenes and before he even knew about it. the same company he brought her in on after her own failed. Publicly sabotaging Dev and humiliating him when he tried to recruit his team to join him in leaving and trying to start something new.... She was a horrible selfish and down right moronic person who's selfishness hurt a lot of people both directly and indirectly, and I will not miss her.
It seems to me that Karen being killed is a very strange move in the script of the show. It's too much for Ed's character, killing his son, his friend, and now his wife.
I get the feeling that when the scriptwriters want to take a character out of the show, they kill him.
Molly won't be in season 4 of the show either, she's apparently left under the rubble as well. It was shown that she saved a man and goes back to save someone else.
Are these mutants? That one person (male/female?), was weird looking
Maybe it was transgender?
Too many streaming services. Not paying for Apple just to see this (they have no other content I want to see). So, if this ever hits a real streaming service, I'll watch it.
Piracy can be a blessing
It's an original. Probably not going to happen
Well this what happens to a woman that steals a man's company ND his job. There is justice.

They reused archive OKC Bombing footage
Always loved how for all mankind does that, the last two seasons are really going to feel the impact of not depicting the past
They probably did. I do like how they keep the timeline in the show from becoming so divergent that it's not recognizable.
Not uncommon....
well, the JSC bombing is that timeline's OKC bombing, so it is to be expected
@Dooray MArshall well, 9/11 is a direct consequence of the soviet afghan war, and since that never happened, I have the feeling 9/11 won't happen, and if it does... Is not gonna be al quaeda
I had almost infinite disdain Karen for the crap she pulled in season 2 but it hurt to see that happen to her.
Karen was a boss and brilliant business woman.
I loved her evolution from conservative housewife to modern woman of our age. She achieved a lot and was a rock for Ed over many decades. That's just the truth. She made a mistake and slept with a younger man when in a midlife crisis and feeling isolated from her husband. Danny harassed her for 12 years after that.
She was on the verge of reuniting with Ed. Danny could see it. She was a great mom and would have been a good grandmother. She didn't deserve it and her death for me was as sad as Gordo and Traceys. She died saving Jimmy and trying to save the two thousand in the building. They died saving the moon base and the hundred on it.
Actual footage of OKC bombing?
Yes that’s why they cut-away from the footage of people walking out after two seconds. Any longer and the destroyed building would have been recognizable as not the JSC.
I don't feel bad for karen after what she did with he dead son's best friend
And this is how you ruin a great series
This is like the FAMK universe's 9/11.
I think it's supposed to be FAMK's version of the OKC bombing

1. Watch the episode
2. After watching the episode you are safe to watch such videos

i wonder if 9/11 is gonna happen in the next season

The towers were prominently in the backdrop of some of the news casts throughout the season, so it's a possibility.
The events that caused 9/11 are absent in FAM timeline is different. So there won’t be 9/11 or the war on terror.
Russia pulled out of Afghanistan and there was no Operation Desert Storm in this timeline so perhaps the Middle East won’t be an unstable region where terrorists would sprout from
As much as I fucking hated Karen, she absolutely did NOT deserve this.
